Just Cause 3 (12/1/2015)
I know at least one person on this forum who won't care if this game borrows heavily from past games......

re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
I thought that studio was working on the Mad Max game (which was a no show at E3 this year).

re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
I need it - NOW.

re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)

Best thing I ever did in the game is pilot one of the larger jet fighters into an offshore rig and jumped out right before it hit! 70% completion of the rig's destruction with one shot! |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
This is quite possibly my favorite game of all time. The replay value is just incredible. Everything wrong with the first game (driving on ice all the time) was fixed in this game. The world was fantastic, the driving and action were all really fun and enjoyable, the graphics (even now) blow me away. I must have spent over 400 hours on this game easily. Its just so much fun to run around blowing shit up. That being said i would hope that in part 3 they add the following:
1. Destructible environments (like Mercenaries). This might be asking a lot, but it would make blowing things up even more enjoyable. 2. Being able to replay missions or add back in enemy installations. Once you have blown everything up (which in itself takes a hell of a long time) it would be cool to restart the map with your character progression. 3. Hand to hand combat. Would be nice to have this added, a la Sleeping Dogs, to add an extra element. Doubt it would happen as most actions set pieces require continued movement. 3. Dont steer too far from the model of part 2. They had crafted a quality game and not a good idea to try inventing the wheel. 4. More dynamic citizens. I have said to myself that when this game gets released i will officially entered the next gen world. |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
I would also add more structures you could enter, rather than just having portions that are accessible. I like your re-spawn idea, james2025a - there are things I wish I could go back and do now that I know more, like taking refineries or other large objects out with planes, etc. I also agree with keeping the formula as is, just enhance it for next gen. Maybe add underwater vehicles?

Yeah, everyone goes on about GTA vs Saints Row, but Just Cause 2 was easily the best sandbox game ever made (hopefully until JC3). The only thing was that it could've used more missions, or at least some DLC mission - so much of the massive world was left unexplored, that you pretty much have to make up your own game to see a lot of it. But then when a complaint is that there could've been more missions, when in most games you're struggling to finish what's there, you know you have something special. So yeah, bring on JC3 for the new-gen systems - I'll be there day-fucking-one! |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
not to be lazy..but neogaf has a thread on this game
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=925234 in short...looks like maybe F2p and will be loaded with micro transactions... |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
Ugh. That's like finding out that the girl you used to have a crush on is now fat and unattractive, and a lesbian (but not the hot kind).
Oh well, Far Cry 4 looks to be de-facto Just Cause 3. :fc: |

Hmmm... So I guess it's never coming to a console? I doubt that.

Some speculate it will still have a price, but maybe a lower price(39.99) with the micro transactions...I guess we will see. |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
I really doubt this will be F2p. They would make enough money from DLC and the game selling (as long as they make as high quality game as the last one).
The screenshots don't really get my enthusiasm up too much. Only one of them looks remotely fine. Lets see. Sure this will hit in 2015, and cannot wait to see more info and game actually in motion. |

If there are, they've gotta be more indie types, right? I can't see a major AAA hit like JC3 adopting this strategy.
Not exactly an indie title. |
re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
Some of these may be considered Indies but on PS4 in addition to DCU there are Warframe, War Thunder, Blacklight:Retribution, and Planetside 2 (coming soon.... maybe)

re: Just Cause 3 ("Holiday" 2015)
Not a rumor, confirmed today. A full retail game set for 2015.
