I hope you make it, that would be pretty sweet. I also hope Patch and Steve Rogers are in the next DD cycle. I need to respec Cap to 3/5/5 and that red is the last cover I need for Patch to make him 5/3/5. Not even 24 full hours of Token Hoarding and I have 22 stored up lol.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
If any of you guys are interested in a competitive alliance, my group is looking for people for next season. We have a bunch of groups depending on how well you can score in PvP:
The minimum PvP scoring requirements are:
The Best - 900 (top 5 this season)
The Best II - 800 (top 15 this season)
The Best III - 650 (top 100 this season)
The Best IV - 700 (top 50 this season)
Hybrid Rainbow- 500 (top 100 this season). They have a PvE requirement of half of the top score.
The Best X - I don't recall the requirements for this group, but they were top 50 this season.
We use the app Line to communicate and coordinate shield hops and the like. Getting the better alliance HP and ISO rewards makes a big difference. I will also say that the conversations and coordination helps you score more in PvP.
Let me know if any of you are interested in joining any of these groups.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
3* Blade purple from 36k progression reward in PvE
3* Blade purple from Iso-8 Brotherhood Token
5/3/1 pretty pleased with that I like Blade quite a bit. Might push for a Kamala Khan but I doubt it.
EDIT: I opened 50 Standard Tokens today as I was in desperate need of iso and 5000 iso is 5000 iso, was also looking for more 2* Magnetos to sell.
3* Groot/Rocket green 2/5/4
3* Storm green, can't use, something like the 10th Storm green I've won.
3* Blade purple!!! 5/4/1 Three of these in two days.
Still have 6 Tacos stored up. Got 750 iso from the 3 Heroic Tokens I won for season placement. Got three 2* Magneto covers again, when I sell it that will be 1250 Hero Points I've snagged selling nerfed mags.

You want 5 blue/5 yellow for sure. His black at 5 is useless in almost every case (might use with the new kingpin 4*, but that is an extream outlier). Hood Yellow is actually a pretty decent finishing move.

Yea, I had him at 5 black back in the Sentry days, but have since switched to 5 yellow.

Maxed my 3* Blade and he's a great character if you get lucky with a board. Lots of purple matches and stagnant reds translate into pretty massive damage from attack tiles. In the process of maxing Magneto now. I don't know how I'll ever get enough covers to max another 4* to pair up with X-force, so I'm just starting to go through and max all my fully covered 3*s at the point.
The current PVE is frustrating. I've been top 10 in the subevent multiple times, but haven't gotten lower than 32 in the main one. If it ended Sunday, I could probably grind my way to a Kingpin cover, but I doubt I'll have the patience/time to keep a high enough position through next Wednesday. Oh well.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
If you think PvE is bad wait'll you get a load of what they did to PvP. They dropped boosts down to a max of two each from three then they fucked everything up with match creation. Basically now as soon as you get past the seed teams right at the beginning you are up against teams your own level. Do these idiots understand the big fish concept of growing to avoid being eaten and so you can eat the little fish? The better you do the exponentially worse you are treated.
EDIT: Came in 16th in Balance Of Power to win 3* Iron Man red and blue then snagged a yellow from a Standard Token for three total on the day and a final of 3/2/3. Too bad he sucks so very badly. He's basically Canned Beast.

I get my 13th Hulk cover from DDP tomorrow. Gonna see if I can't find some iso and do some Hulk bombing. He will be 5/3/5. Won the 12th cover from Kamala event, had two of her covers from the Heavy Metal PvP. Anybody pushing for the Kingpin? I skipped the whole thing.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
Yeah, I just picked up my 13th Hulk as well and maxed him. Up to 12 maxed 3*s and Magneto will join the list in the next couple days. Having the varied roster doesn't help with PVP too much, but it's nice for PVE, as there's an incentive to change up teams to preserve health packs instead of just sticking to a favorite team.
I'd planned to push for Kingpin, but had no chance. I don't know if it's because I wasn't optimizing timing or what, but I ground all nodes down to 1 several times in the first subevent and never got lower than 32 in the main one. I'm still trying to push enough for the final two progression rewards, but that'll be undoable unless they really up the values of the nodes as the day goes on. The whole event has felt a bit off, as if they're tinkering with how point values are assigned to nodes or something.

I just got my 13th cover for Hulk from PVP to put him at 5/4/4 and see that there's a red cover now from Deadpool. Is there a recommended or typical Hulk build?

I like 5/3/5. Imho, red sucks, as it consumes both red and green and there are much better ways to use green.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
Happy 13th Hulk Day, everybody! Got mine today too, threw away a couple extra green to get there. One cover away from both Hood and Patch being 13 and already close to 85k iso short on being able to max Hulk. Still awesome though. Seems like his red sucks but his black is awesome if you are willing to meat shield him.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
if patch and hulk are at the same level, does patch control the red and/or green? I imagine hulk always controls green.
My patch is lower level and sucks to team up with hulk since for patch's red power to be awesome, he needs to control lots of colors

I know that their green at least are equal (not sure about red), and it depends on how you place them during selection as to who will tank green. 2 - 1 - 3 for the selection order. Hulk/Patch bombing is excellent for speed killing high level teams.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
Snagged a purple 3* Daken form a prodigal son token and 250 hp from a taco token. Been opening my tacos since all my stockpiled ones vanished. Got a major iso problem now.
Patch 5/2/5 L 153
Hood 5/2/5 L153
Thor 3/4/4 L 140
Hulk 5/3/5 L 115
Blade 5/4/1 L 100
Falcon 4/4/4 L 94
Cyclops 4/1/2 L91
Punisher 5/3/2 L91
Deadpool 5/2/4 L66
Daken 2/5/1 L66
Human Torch 4/2/4 L69
Those are my most wanted/closest to becoming max for me and Black Panther and Groot/Rocket are getting close to being worth upgrading too. I need millions of iso, I have 17,165. :/
EDIT: Don't forget, Guys, all 13 episodes of DareDevil drop on Netflix today.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
Hey All
Miles from Demiurge here to let you know about some new character updates that are coming soon to Marvel Puzzle Quest.
Invisible Woman (Classic) - Coming 4/17/15
Invisible Woman is our 2nd oldest 4-Star character and has been waiting patiently for an update for a long time. When we originally designed her, we were balancing for a version of the game with longer, more difficult matches. In that version of the game, powerful, high-cost powers have more use and damage prevention is more powerful. When re-evaluating her abilities, we had a big focus on utility. Her two unique powers got a lot cheaper, allowing players to use them much more frequently. She should be locking tiles and making people invisible all the time, not occasionally at the end of the match.

Elektra (Unkillable) - Coming 4/17/15
Elektra is a very unique character in MPQ. She plays very differently from other characters in that she is capable of dealing huge amounts of damage but only indirectly. She’s also the only character in the game who can stop any amount of damage. We wanted to update Elektra, but maintain her unique playstyle, and we found we were able to make her more powerful without being unbalanced.
Old Max Health: 10,960
New Max Health: 13,974
urple: Double-Double Cross - Cost: 7 Purple AP - OLD
Elektra has “defected” to the enemy team, she’s working for them while secretly feeding her true allies powerful information. Elektra steals 1 enemy strike tile, improving it’s strength by 55, but she also converts 3 random purple basic tiles into enemy strike tiles of strength 9.
Upgrades:

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
Wolverine (X-Force) - Coming 4/17/15
X-Force was our first 4-star character. He’s been through a few incarnations, some too weak and some too powerful. We’ve realized that we’d made him too powerful compared to other characters, especially the AP generation and cascade potential of his most recent Black and Green abilities. We’ve re-designed him to bring those abilities into line. The damage of Surgical Strike and Recovery had room to grow, so we’ve increased that as part of this rework.

Beast (Classic) - Coming 4/17/15
We think we captured the essence of Beast as a character, but he wasn’t very useful, and players didn’t feel there was a strong reason to bring him to a fight over other characters. Considering that the bulk of Beast’s power banks on the presence of Blue special tiles, we made his Blue more reliable. The original design made it too easy to match away the special tiles it created, but this re-design solves that problem. We also increased the strength of his other two powers.

New Max Health: 8,670

Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) - Coming 4/17/15
Doctor Octopus is an interesting take on a utility character. He manipulates the game board and reacts to actions instead of directly damaging other characters. He has a huge breadth of ability effects, but there are a lot of times when only a few of those effects are useful. We wanted to really focus on increasing the usefulness of his different powers with this update.

She-Hulk (Modern) - Coming 4/17/15
She-Hulk also has a wide variety of powers. Her Blue power was overly complex, and useful only in very specific situations, and the power to give her team a burst of health doesn’t really fit into her comic book persona. We’ve updated both her Green and Blue abilities with the goal of making them simpler and more useful.
Old Max Health: 10,200
New Max Health: 10,710
:blue: Settlement - Cost: 9 Blue AP - OLD
She-Hulk flexes her legal muscle, striking a deal to balance the scales of justice. Replaces up to 2 Protect, Strike or Attack tiles with Strike Tiles distributed between you and the enemy team. The deal is in your favor though, as Friendly Strike Tiles are strength 27 and Enemy Strike Tiles are Strength 16.
Upgrades:
2. Increases Friendly Strike Tiles to strength 38.
3. Replaces up to 3 Tiles (Odd tiles are always Friendly)
4. Increases Friendly Strike Tiles to strength 51.
5. Can also replace Countdown Tiles.
MAX LV 5: Friendly Strike Tiles are strength 164 and Enemy Strike Tiles are Strength 52.
:blue: Settlement - Cost: 9 Blue AP - NEW

3. Friendly tiles are improved by 38.
4. Selects up to 3 Tiles (Odd tiles are always Friendly)

:green: Reprieve - Cost: 12 Green AP - OLD
She-Hulk charges into battle, catching her foes off guard and giving allies a chance to rest. Reduces one of the enemy’s AP levels to 0, then heals all allies for 137 HP.
Upgrades:
