Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

dear danfindlay, i hate you (i am jealous of your luck).

I put some effort in and got to rank 30-something in the Cap Marvel PvP since i wanted the Blade cover for the gauntlet. I shielded at 8 hours and kept an eye on my rank. about 45 minutes before the end i was down to about rank 101 so i popped the shield, got in a couple easy victories and reshielded at rank 60-something with about 30 minutes to go. Got my Blade cover!
Use the blade cover in the essential part of the 3rd leg of the guantlet to get a Cap Marvel 3* cover. Used both blade and capt marvel 3* to complete the 2nd leg of the gauntlet in order to get 3* Daken cover. Now i'll try to complete the 3rd leg of the gauntlet for the BP cover but i probably wont be able to make it. At least i got most of the covers i wanted from the event.

I got my heroic 10 pack. 8 2* covers, a Hood black cover (i already have that power at 5, so unusable), and a mohawk storm cover. so 1 useable cover out of 10. pretty crappy luck.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

In the third leg of The Gauntlet you only need to complete the mission past where it branches off the first time plus those three essential nodes to get the Captain Marvel cover. I finished that up and went back and cleaned up the second leg to get my Daken. Blew through almost all my stockpile and damage boosts to get them but it was worth it.

Looks like they're going to allow people to choose different event end times?

I cannot get past the node on the third leg of the gauntlet with Colossus, OBW and Devil Dino. I'd need a lot of luck but they keep getting lucky with long cascades! they dont need the luck, i do!

Me too. The AI plays Black Widow like a raging menstrual feminazi with rabies whose favorite pair of whatever shoes the Sex and the City ladies got dewy over just got eaten by a dog. YOUR dog. Who somehow also just took a dump on her season one Girls dvd boxset. Alternating purple and blue every time and cascades like the sweat running down a fat man's buttcrack standing in a buffet line. Evidently that is the node where the computer has decided to go all Gandalf.

Don't feel too bad. I haven't gotten a usable cover from a season 10 pack in the last 3 or 4.

The Juggernaut heroic event is the single shitiest event MPQ has ever offered, lousy character selection coupled with the single lousiest boosted character to fight means I'm out. They can keep Mystique.

They upped the ante by including in the character selection a 2* that nobody has maxed (or even usable except as fodder) unless they spent money.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

And in two months that Captain Marvel 2* will be every other Heroic Token just like Johnny Storm is now. It's the total Marvel No-prize.

Maybe it's time they start segregating the reward pools by user choice. Give new and transitioning players a different opponent pool for lesser rewards until they're ready to join the 3-and-4* boys who are duking it out for the goods.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I decided to sneak into the Lord of Thunder PvP and see if I could swipe a prize, scored 553 points which was good enough for 94th and a Colossus black. Also bagged a Falcon yellow from the 300 point token. Only 200 points or so away from 5k for the season and another 1k iso. Resources are getting depleted, had 140k now I'm down to 67k.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Yeah, this PVE is the worst I can remember. The Black Panther essential nodes are rated trivial for me, but everyone I clear ends up wiping out at least one of my team and I've lost at least half a dozen entirely. I've had a streak going for 3-4 months where I've won every new 3* in their unveiling event, but this is looking to break that, as I haven't been able to climb above 150 once. In these limited roster events, I can usually find a team that gives me a pretty good offensive strategy, but with this one, I've been stuck just trying to get Black Widow's green powered up.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I had no chance to get Mystique. i wanted the Yellow BP cover but didnt have enough time to even get to half the amount of points needed. I got the 2* Cap Marvel cover but need 300 HP to open a roster spot for it before it self destructs

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Don't waste hp on her, Dave. She will be every other heroic token soon enough which means you will never need her again. Her powers suck.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I managed to get 60k in the PVE, but it wasn't even good enough for top 200, so my streak of winning new 3*s is broken. On the bright side, I got the progression Black Panther and another for him from a reward token, which took him to 13 covers. Besides him, I've got Psylocke, Falcon and She-Hulk at 13 each and enough ISO to max one of them. Trying to decide if any would of those be a nice complement to my maxed 3* line-up of Patch, Daken, Thor, Hood and Cap.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Black Panther all the way. His Black is an 'I Win Button' especially if you get Patch's strike tiles out first then immediately follow up with Rage. Plus, his yellow is really good too.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Black Panther is a monster if your build is 5/3/5.

Right now I'm loving my maxed Patch, Psy, and Hood builds for Children of the Atom. They just rip through people. Though I am not suggesting you max Psy at this time. She's awesome when she's buffed, which isn't frequently.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

My Panther's only 5/5/3, but I went ahead and dumped ISO in him. Hopefully I get lucky with some black covers.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

The problem I have with Black Panther is that I was so used to the quicker regen of Hulk and Patch that it feels like he (and Sentry and Hood) take forever to heal.

There's a "kvrdave" in my current PVP group. I can only assume it's our kvrdave. He's in a good alliance and is already over 800 in the event.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

the Children of the Atom PvP is too fierce for me to make top 25 so no blue hood cover for me. I can use the yellow, though, so thats fine.

my least favorite thing about this game is when they have a PvE event with a hard to get new cover and then follow up with a PvE event where you need that cover for essentials. It just leaves us with weaker 3* teams with nothing to do

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Another opening in AW Reloaded if you want to get in with a Top 100 Season Alliance. All we ask from you is to maintain a 600-650 average per event with around 1200-1500 in the season simulator.
