Well, I just hit the Marvel equivalent of the lottery... won a purple Fury cover from the 1st round of the PvE ISO-8 event.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

So, I got my OnePlus One today, but can't get it linked to my MPQ account. It looks like you have to back up your game via Facebook and then there's a way to set it up on a new phone, which is tough to do if the touchscreen on the old phone is completely broken. I have an email in to their support, but I think I'll end up quitting if I have to start over from scratch. I was up to day 130+ and I'm just not willing to sink that much work into it again. Hopefully I'll know more in the next couple days.

I have a couple of friends that play every day looking for an alliance if you all want them. They are Cliffmancliff and Jerimy. I can vouch for them. Feel free to deny them or kick them if locals want in to the empty slots.

Ok, I guess you guys can boot me. Because they don't do backups on their own servers in game like anyone with half a brain would do, I've gotta start from scratch, so I'm cutting my losses. Good luck!

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Anyone use Sentry a lot and see inconsistency from his green power? I'm using him in the villains PVP and when I use it, it varies wildly as to whether it damages all team members evenly, just one or one more than the others.

Sorry to hear about your luck Dexter. Sounds like bullshit on their end. I wouldn't think Facebook is offering up their servers to save people's games, so D3 must just only upload your roster to their server if you link to Facebook, which kind of sucks.

The alliance has really been suffering lately, dropping from top 250, to top 2,000 for events. It'd be nice if we could find a couple new members to pitch in. Also, it looks like we can't delete Dexter since he was promoted to commander, so not sure what we can do about that.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Oh, that's BS that you can't delete me. Hopefully there's a way to demote me, then boot me. I'll email their support and ask if they can delete the profile since there's literally no way to ever log back into the thing short of replacing the screen on my N4.

I should leave room open for the possibility that I'll miss playing this crack-addled game in a week or two, but regardless the original account should get deleted. I'll see what I can do on my end.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

As soon as I think I'm out, they pull me back in! After emailing support to pull my account and complain about their data backups, I got an email asking for some info, and it sounds like they might be able to get me back up and running. We'll see what happens. If they pull this off, I'll even finally fork over some cash to get some HP.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

After about a hundred tokens netting me exactly jack I managed to bag a 3* black widow purple and a 3* thor red both of which I needed. Pairing that up with the psylock I won the other day I'm doing pretty good right now.

EDIT: just bagged a red sentry, everything seems to be coming up millhouse.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I finally got lucky and pulled a Fury from an ISO8 token this morning, though it's likely too late to help me climb the ranks of the overall event. I've been hovering between 75 & 100 the past couple days and doubt I can make top 50.

It seems odd they didn't start a Punisher PVP when the Fury one ended. Don't they usually butt those up against each other during the seasons?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I got a green IW from a Heroic token last night. That brings me to 10/13 on her, but I still can't justify pumping any ISO into her, let alone the 207k it'll take to go from 90 to 209 right now.

Listen to your gut on her. She is a marginal character at best. You have about 12 other characters I would max out before even looking at her weird neck. The only 4* who isn't a giant disapointment is Fury.

Oh, I know. I just wish the Punisher PVP would be announced so I could justify maxing him now that I have the covers and the ISO.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Managed to get rank 5 for the Nick Fury event, so that got me 3 Punisher covers. He's now at 3/3/2, which I think will make him at least somewhat useful, as his max level is a little over 100. I think maxed 2* characters can still be better than him, but at least its a start. It's just taking me forever to get some usable 3* characters.

Yeah, I really haven't bothered for the PVE event.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Too bad the rewards for the Punisher PVP is Daredevil covers. I really want to pump ISO into Punisher since I can get him up to 102, but it doesn't seem worth placing high in this event.

I have probably another 3-4 3* characters that if I got another 3 covers for would be worth using (that are actually useful characters), so I think I'll probably try to place lower in this event, just so I don't get seeded high in the next. I think that's how it works at least?

I feel that way about most of the PvE events, but I'm pretty firmly in 3* land now, so most of the rewards aren't a draw for me so much as the ISO is.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Looks like I'm back up and running. D3's support got everything copied over, so I had about 27 * cards waiting and 2 ** ones. Mostly translated into a crapton of ISO, but I'm off and running again. I forgot just how much I hate these freaking team-ups.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Huh...I should've put some money into this game awhile ago. I kicked in $20 by way of supporting D3 for getting me set back up and found myself placing second in Army of One through good shield use. As a result, I'm going to get a powered up Daredevil. I've got all 20 of my current slots in use. I think I'm going to unlock another one to make room for him, but this seems like a good time to see who is or isn't worth holding on to. Thought I'd put it to the group for feedback:

**Storm Classic lvl 94 - 3-5-5
**Thor MN! lvl 94 - 3-5-5
**Wolverine ASM lvl 94 - 5-4-4
**Magneto MN! lvl 89 - 5-5-3
**Cap Modern lvl 56 - 5-3-5
**HT Johnny Storm lvl 48 - 1-3-5
***Punisher DR lvl 898 - 2-4-0
***Hulk Indestructible lvl 78 - 3-2-1
***Iron Man Model 40 lvl 66 - 1-0-3
***Black Panther lvl 53 - 2-1-0
***BW Grey Suit lvl53 - 1-0-2
***Thor modern lvl 50 - 2-0-0
***Cap Steve Rogers lvl 43 - 1-1-0
***Doom Classic lvl 43 - 1-1-0
***Mags Classic lvl 43 - 1-0-1
***Sentry lvl 43 - 1-0-1
***Hood Classic lvl 43 - 1-0-1
***Daken Classic lvl 40 - 0-1-0
***Storm Mohawk lvl 40 - 1-0-0
****Wolvie X-Force lvl 78 - 1-1-1

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

What did you put the $20 towards? Shields? I'm surprised you didn't put money towards hero points to buy more open slots; that's the only thing i've done with actual money early on.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hopefully I can rank in the top 5 for the Daredevil PVP, that'd put Falcon at 2/5/3, and probably max level at around 120 or so. Then if the next one is Thor, that'd be just swell.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Falcon was my first 3* that I got full covers for, so I'll just play the current PVP enough to hit the 300 level cover and then let myself take a beating for better placement next round. Pretty much did the same with the Daredevil one, since he sucks. It's not great for my overall season score, but with the Sentry cover being at 3,000 and the 10-pack getting knocked down to 4,000, I ought to still be able to get the two chief benefits of the season format.

As a general rule, I keep all 3* characters, as they're all featured in PVP events occasionally. Even if you don't put any ISO into them, having access to all 3 powers is a big help when compared to using the default event character with a single power. Because of this, the only characters on your list that I'd consider dumping are the 2* Cap & Johnny Storm, as they're just pale imitations of their 3*s. If you really wanted to get rid of a 3*, Doom is probably the least painful to lose out of what you have. I'm with fumanstan on overall approach, though. If you've got a big chunk of HPs, your absolute best use of them is to open up slots so that you don't have to discard any 3*s.
