I said that earlier. 3* is buffed, 2* is not.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Just got my heroic 10 pack. Hoping for at least 2 3* covers.

I got:

Bagman (purple) sell
Cap 2* (blue) sell
Moonstone (red) sell
Human Torch (red) keep
Wolvie 2* (yellow) sell
Thor 2* (red) sell
Magneto 3* (red) keep
Cap 2* (yellow) sell
Wolvine 2* (yellow) sell
Thor 2* (green) sell

So I basically got 2 I didn't have/need. Same as last time. I really wish I could get a purple 3* Mags one. I love that skill, but have yet to receive one.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I just got the Heroic 10-Pack. I got one 4-Star, one 3-Star, and eight 2-Stars.

Wolverine (X-Force)
Doctor Doom
Thor (Marvel Now) x 2
Daken (Dark Avengers)
OBW
Storm (Classic)
Bullseye
Moonstone
Capt. America (Modern)

The 4-Star Wolvie is nice, but I'd rather have a 3-Star cover that I can use. I'm already maxed out on all the 2-Stars. These heroic tokens aren't that exciting once you get all the 2-Star characters.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Unless something crazy happens, it looks like the alliance will be top 250 in The Simulator, meaning a 3* Black Panther for everyone. I've got a shield up in cage match and should end up top 50, so hopefully I'll be getting 4 covers for Black Panther today. For my 3*'s, that'll put me at two with 8 covers, two with 7, one with 6 and the rest at 5 or less.

Oops, sorry. It's pretty frustrating because that's not how they've done it before. In past events where I had the 2* I couldn't get in...now that I finally have the 3* the big-points essentials are open to all comers.

I don't have a 2-star magneto either, so its irrelevant to me. I'm basically limping along to the finish now. Hopefully I'll still get a 2* Storm cover for a reward and the alliance (it's a close friend that heads it, sorry) I'm in will most likely get another 2* Storm cover too. At least I got another Daredevil cover last night.

Oh, btw, I was able to open up another three slots with hero points, and I had three covers of 2* Hawkeye sitting around un-redeemed, so I figured what the heck and recruited/trained him since he's powered up for this event. Good lord, 1* Hawkeye is more useful. Maybe he becomes interesting when I get enough covers, but right now, he's just a body.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

2* hawkeye (modern) can be great for matches where you're not using OBW or 2* Storm (if you dont have them). His avoid skill keeps him alive for a while and the blue and red powers do a lot of damage. Before i had a decent OBW, i used him on the team ups since he could avoid the damage and the guy you have to team up with, if you use the computer default, will get healed after each match.
once you get built up OBW and 2* storm, there is no reason to use him since their blue powers are more useful

Damn it, I can't crack the top 10 on the normal simulator. I'm at 13 with less than 10 minutes to go. Sonofa

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I was 2nd on hard and 9th on easy. Couldn 't play for an hour and I dropped to mid 20's. Sucky thing is I dropped out of the to 75 for the event, so no black panther.

Blah, couldn't stay in the top 10 on Normal either despite trying to play a good part of today and as it ended. At least top 50 for both of the final rounds, and I think I was top 75 for the entire event after being close to being top 50 there too.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Okay so even though I didn't get into the top 10, I did pretty well. Pulled two useless one star covers but also pulled a yellow MN Thor and a purple MN Magneto. I recently also pulled an A Wolverine and an OBW, plus a green C Storm, so I finally have some reasonable 2 star characters and teams I can build off of.

My Black Panther came in, but I have to dump someone. Who's more expendable, Captain America or Moonstone?

Nevermind. The guide says that Bullseye is worth than both. See ya, Bullsy!

Awww, wish I could take your Bullseye covers (I only have 3 currently)...but then again I'm just trying to get the characters that look most interesting or are my faves. I did however get my first character this morning over level 50 this morning (2* Storm, 53/9 covers). However, the next two star is Moonstone at a lowly 22 (4 covers).

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Last match before the simulator ended and I got a standard cover pack. I opened it up and the gold shield symbol showed up. That's like hitting the lotto in this game. I open it up and it's a yellow Black Panther cover. I'm so excited. That gives me 5 yellow covers for my Black Panther. That’s when I realize that the alliance award if a yellow Black Panther cover that's now useless. It's still 500 ISO but I really wish it was a blue or black Black Panther cover.

Got one of each Black Panther power last night which brings my roster up to 39/42 characters. I still need Daken (Classic) which I can try to power to 3200 in Season II Simulator this weekend, Human Torch, and Nick Fury so I'm going to need all of you to step your Season II game up to bring our alliance to the top tiers!

Ugh, this Black Panther event it going to suck. Every team I go up against has a 212 Black Panther. That dude was brutal at 141. 212 is just crazy.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Placed 7th on Normal and 1st on Hard. Overall rank for the event was 3rd. Got at least 3 Black Panther covers. My Heroic pulls weren't so great. Got the standard Bagman and 2 covers I already had.

Who should I focus on next? 2* Wolverine to 85 or 2* Mags to 70?
Classic Storm and M.Thor are maxed at 85. I don't have enough covers to max Ares, he is at 50.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

if you use storm alot, i'd go with Mags. his purple skill puts blues on the board, which feeds storm.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

got my ten pack of season 2 heroics yesterday. first card: a bagman! I got 2 3* out of it (torch and panther, i think) and a few usable 2*s. It does kind of suck once you maxed out a few 2*s since cards that were once great are now useless. I wish i could just have 1* cards converted to 100 ISO automatically. i'm tired of Juggs face popping out at me, haha

That's how I feel about Punisher black... I could have maxed out two of them already. And oh man I wish I could give the newbies all my OBW covers that are going to waste...

On the plus side, I finally got my first Hulk red! It's probably his crappiest power (which is saying something) but I was blocked on leveling him because of that; at least this way if I win the lotto or get really desperate I can buy more red covers...

Gotta apologize for not pulling my weight in the season 2 stuff. I see you guys getting the ten pack and I'm nowhere close, mainly because the pvp is starting me off with brutal matchups, plus most of my time has been in the pve story stuff. I am glad that at least everyone got a Panther.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Storm Mohawk is the new character I guess. With so many Marvel characters out there, I wish they would stop doing alternate versions of existing ones.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Are we getting powerless mohawk storm (who can still kick Cyclop's butt)?

I'd say it was just a lazy way for them to use the same powers, but there are already two storms, no way they would do a lazy storm, right? Is this a 4 star, like X-Force Wolvie?

You'd think they'd at least get around to doing the real Avengers that the Dark Avengers are based off of, like, say, Captain Marvel. Or a better Venom.

She's 3* and looks identical to the 1* version, power-wise.

1* Storms black power in a 3* Storm is going to be devastating. The thought of going up against her in a PvP tourney is really scary.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hi all. Last 2 events I was 1st n 2nd in normal and below 50 in both hard. This was the first time I had ever come this high.
I maxed out my storm second cover which is serving me pretty nice.
BTW. In the new simulator event I dont see an excuse for someone not to perform. Only 2 mates out of us 20 don't have hulk. Pretty sure if we get matches like these as an alliance we can be below 25 for sure.
Again I'm out of ISO n 4 cards to be maxed out. I'm finally so excited, in this simulator event obw black is a gift. Had been waiting for it for weeks n weeks.
