Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I use OBW, so if I win, with her healing ability, I am usually pretty close to full health afterwards.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hey Max, congrats on getting all those OBW covers. She's a game changer. Once you have her, you can usually keep your team fully healed throughout the battles. It makes grinding a lot easier. Two pieces of advice.

First, don't level her pink power past 3. I think it's better to steal the other teams colors faster rather than more in one shot. The more pink covers you have, the longer it takes to use that power.

Second, don't be afraid to take a break from PvP and play one of the old PvE rounds with OBW and two of your injured teammates. It's a lot easier to heal them in PvE than PvP.

And when you're obviously losing the match, is it better to retreat or just go down fighting?
I try to plan my team & attacks so that one character is going to absorb most of the damage and then heal them fairly regularly. When I'm using Magneto/Storm/whoever, Magneto does most of the attacking and I usually heal him if he's less than 50%, unless it's a really easy looking match. The others, I'll heal far less often, as they're less likely to take damage and can last a lot more rounds. Also, I'm guessing most have noticed, but if you're doing a PVP event with a featured character, you'll always have access to a base-level full-health version of that character. So with the current event, I'll never heal Falcon. Even though my Falcon is better than the base one, he's not enough better to make it worth burning a health pack on him.

There's a pause button between the teams that you can select it from. I played for at least two months before realizing it.

Thanks for the advice on OBW. Unfortunately, I already have her at 5 Pink/4 Blue/2 Black, so I'll need to get at least 4 more covers for her to get the pink back down.

On your tip of playing an easier match to heal up your team with OBW, before I leveled her up, I had tried jumping back into prologue missions to use her ability between PVE & PVP events and her ability just wasn't good enough. Will have to play around with options now that I've sunk some ISO into her.

Not sure if it's a limited time thing for everyone or if I hit a certain point or what, but I'm currently getting covers as rewards for every match I win in the Falcon event. I've picked up 2* OBW, Wolverine, Thor, Bag-Man and Magneto and a bunch of 1*'s as well. Thought I'd mention it in case it's a timed thing and anyone else wanted to give it a shot.

gotta be a glitch. not working for me.

the new event has super limited characters available to use. luckily i have a built up thor, patch wolvie and magneto now, so i can progress pretty easily.

Not a glitch, covers are among the possible rewards right now in the Falcon event.

Yep, just hopped on for 3 quick rounds and got 1* covers for 2 of them and one of the typical 140 ISO for the other.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

odd. i played a bunch and got no covers.

ok, i see it now. when you are on the screen with the matchups, it tells you what covers you could win. that's definitely new as they weren't there at the beginning of this event.

I see the covers as rewards, but I've done about 10 in a row so far and only gotten ISO. Blah. This game is such a grind.

I played a few and only got one Juggernaut cover, the rest ISO. Glad they're a possibility though.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Gotta admit, sure does make me want to grind more in PVP. I have about 1500 to go to get to that 10 cover pack, if I know I have a chance at covers in this event too its already got my playing more.

Is 3-star Daken going to have different powers or will it be Lazy Daken?

he has an extra power. a blue power. and his powers are slightly different. his strike tile skills are now based on percentage points. purple does 10% for 1st skill slot, black does 5% health per turn and blue is if you clear a strike tile, it adds damage points to that turn.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Quick request for advice... I have 27 total characters right now, not enough hero points to buy a new slot but need one to add a couple covers of The Hood. Should I just drop a 1 star hero, or a 2 star that I never use? I still have Iron Man, Storm Modern, and Black Widow Modern at their caps. I'm thinking about dropping Black Widow or possible Moonstone, which I never use and is still at level 6. Any reason to keep one or the other, or drop anyone else?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

if you don't care about a possible 1 star tourney, i'd always drop a 1 star over a 2 star.

i just got 4000 points in the oscorp thing. my token gave me a green patch wolvie. fuck yes!

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

the new oscorp event was giving me tons of points at the start, like 500+ on the "Essential" hero fights, but now its at like 200 or less on those. I want to hit 10K for the Cap cover but its taking so long. I cant wait until more of the event opens since its pretty boring right now

I have 2 Falcon covers waiting for later today; I should get enough HP in the daily giveaway that i can open up another spot for him.

That's how it goes with those, unfortunately. The bummer for me on this event is that I have every necessary hero EXCEPT Wolverine Patch, and he's the one you need for the big points.

With the PvE events, I think you're supposed to wait about 12 hours for the points to refill. They explain it in the PvE Guide, but it's kinda confusing.

If you don't participate in an event, do you still get the alliance awards?
