I have about 13K in HP, and I'm gonna splurge on 4* covers before tomorrow.

I have it narrowed down to 2 choices:

1. IMHB currently 2/2/1, and I have a maxed IF to pair with him
2. XFDP currently 3/2/1, and I have a 4/5/3 XFW to pair with him (heard this was a good team?)

Any advice?

You can take a little longer to think about it because they pushed back the Hero Points change a week due to overwhelming negative reaction. Championing will still hit tomorrow.

Honestly, I would need to see the rest of your roster. Are you able to hit 1300 every PvP with minimal shields? How much ISO do you have? Both of those guys need a lot of covers. I ended up pulling all of my tokens last night and bought covers for Iceboy and 4* Cyc so that they are both cover maxed. If you have been hoarding tokens, I would pull every one of them before you spend any HP. It would suck to drop 2500 and pull the cover you bought from a token right after that (unless that toon was championed).

My first two characters I'll champion will be Steve and Doom (once I get him to 166), simply because I have extra covers. 1 for Steve and 4 for Doom. I have Doom at 154 so will get to 166 with deadpool daily ISO alone.

It is live. The first reward for hulk was legendary token. Which I used and promptly got an xforce wolvie.

FYI, seems championed 2*s give heroic instead of champion tokens, at least as the first reward. I championed six 3*s and got my first Ghost Rider, four 4* covers I needed and an xforce Wolvie, which I promptly used to champion him for another needed cover. It looks like maybe only 4*s give CP. Second reward for xforce is 2 points, while the first 4 for 3*s are legendary cover, ISO, HP and ISO.

Opened all my hoarded token and pulled:

EDIT: just pulled a 2* thor, used him to win the 3* Thor award, promoted 3* Thor and got one last Legendary Token for the night.

I championed 2* OBW since i need like 61K more iso in order to max level my highest 3*s. I'm really slow at getting ISO

I bought another cover for Nick Fury 3/3/3 just so I could beat Magneto today to get the legendary token. Hope it was worth it! I won't open it yet until I get at least 1000 HP (have 700 now) to make sure I can slot a new character if I get one.

I really like this championing thing.

I broke down and bought 20 bucks in HP. With my legendary token I got for championing 3* Thor I got a hulkbuster. Didn't have that so yay.

I'm hooked on championing now. I've pulled a total of around six 5* covers from LT I have gotten from championing characters. I'm probably going to max out every 3* now (have 7 at 120). My biggest problem now is ISO. I need so much more.

yeah, iso is becoming a problem. at one point i had like 200k during the early deadpool days. now i've got nothing.

Do DPD every day. That's close to 5K. Lightning Rounds are by far the best way though. Starting at 12 PM EST on Tuesdays, every 2 hours have the app open when they start. You should be able to play 8-10 seed teams (the first, super easy teams). After you beat all of those, you should be able to win another match or two to put your total points over 250 (second to last progression reward). Then stop playing. 15 min before the end of the LR, play as many matches as you can for as many points as you can to get as high a placement as possible. You will get a ton of 2* covers to sell or apply to champion toons. I have gotten as much as 70-80K iso over a couple of days of lightning rounds when I am able to do the above every 2 hours. They run every week from 12PM EST Tuesday to 12PM EST Thursday (last round starts at 10 AM EST). The trick is to enter and start playing the moment the round starts. If you start a couple mins late, you might get zero seed teams.

I forgot to mention that you will want to use characters with true healing to cut down on health pack usage. Daken and Patch are a very popular duo.

This is going to get expensive. Getting legendary tokens left and right now. Of course I am 3* player and don't have many. I just used 3 tokens and got old man Logan, red hulk and x23. Didn't have any of those. Damn it but in a good way.

For the Legndary tokens, I have one roster spot spare right now that I rotate whatever 2* is PVE essential if I don't have them normally. Once that roster slot gets taken by a new 4 or 5, I won't open a legendary until I have enough hp for another slot. I hope I have the patience to stick to that.

The ISO drain makes me kick myself for skipping deadpool whenever I didn't need the cover. I'm hoping to always have 7500 ISO on hand if I get 3* that I have maxed to Legendary. Right now I am working on maxing Witch, then I will just build up ISO to maybe max out Daken. I have a bunch of people at 120, that takes about 100k to get 166 so I will pick and choose from there. Once I have 13 covers for cyclops, fist and Khan, they will get top priority.

Thought about ditching 2* characters, but now with championing, you can move them up quickly since you get a lot more covers for them.

I've got around 7 3*'s maxed at 166. The rest are at 120 or don't have enough covers to max yet. My dilemma is which ones to level to 166 to take advantage of the Champion system. I have extra covers for my non maxed 3*'s sitting in my inventory and hate to sell them if I can't max the hero. Obviously, ISO will be a major roadblock too.

I know championing 3*s eventually give you 4* covers. Is there a strategy on who to champion first?

I can max and champion two more 3*'s.... Black Widow GS, Blade, Daken, Deadpool, Human Torch, Dr Doom, Magneto Classic, Psylocke.

I would use a combination of the number of extra covers you have and how soon they are going to expire. If you have any that are going to expire soon, do that one first, then next down the line. This assumes that you will eventually champion every 3*. I have decided to eventually take every 3* I have to 166. I have about 8 I was going to leave at 120, but not now that there are Legendary tokens to be had.

i would champion the ones you use most first. they get increase in damage dealt, so go for those first.

Looks like legendary tokens down to 20 command points with there also being 25 point option. That gives you shot at new 5 star black spidey

Looks like a fully maxed 2* will yield 17500 ISO, 250 HP, 5 heroic tokens, 3 3* Thor covers and 5 command points from the post-championing leveling. I guess if I had a bunch of maxed 2*s, it might be worth keeping them, but I don't think it's worth it to try to build one up just for the championing rewards. I'm down to just one 1* and one 2* and will probably keep it that way.

After getting some of the same characters on legendary tokens, now I am getting all new ones. I think there are.only like 3 or 4 I don't have now.

Can you get through the 2* DPD nodes with only one 2*?
