I played the demo and didn't really love it... Jim Sterling (game reviewer/commenter) hated it.
But on Game Pass? Yeah, I'll give it another shot.

Great!, almost 3 years later and after I have it ordered and yet to received from LimitedRunGames.

Developer Ska Studios has announced that Salt and Sanctuary, its "brutal" hand-drawn 2D Soulslike platformer, will be coming to Xbox One next month, with BlitWorks handling this newly ported version. To date, the game has enjoyed over 900,000 downloads on other platforms, and soon it'll be arriving for Xbox One.

Featuring "heart-racing combat" that "never feels unfair", a range of weaponry, a skill tree, Fire and Sky spells, as well as the ability to customise your Saltborn's look and loadout, you'll be able to solve the many mysteries of Salt and Sanctuary when it launches for Xbox One on 6th February, priced $17.99. The game will also include New Game+ and Challenge modes, alongside 2-player local co-op.

Is anyone aware of any Xbox Live 12 Month Gold deals right now? My searching hasn't yielded much... thanks in advance.

CD Keys

Or do what I do. If you use Bing as your search engine, you could use points earned to buy 12-month codes at no cost.

Check your emails. Got email from MS that said I would get a $5 gift card for any movie/TV purchase/rental over $3.99. Now that MS is part of movies anywhere, might be a decent deal for a movie.

Here's a list of Movies to buy between $4.99-$8 on Microsoft's store:
https://www.justwatch.com/us/provide...=5&max_price=8

One potentially good deal is Manhunter for $5.99, although that's not MA

Some MA titles are Pitch Black, several Resident Evil movies, Midnight Special, Dawn of the Dead (2004)(Unrated), and Scarface (1932).

Super Bomberman R got awful reviews but at least I don't already own it.
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon s the throw away bonus game that they gave us when the Kickstarter game we ordered hadn't delivered after 5 years. Wonder if I will ever actually get it.

Not a bad list, and always neat to see OG Xbox games on there. I'll probably give Curse of the Moon a try at least.

Do you guys think that Xbox Live will still give away BC games after PS Plus stops giving PS3 and Vita games in March?
I think they'll stop soon afterwards, but I suppose they have to give a year's notice like Sony did.

^ I think you're right. But I also think we'll see much more of them filter through the Game Pass library (there have a already been a lot I think).

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Since MS is still playing catch up in 'console war' race, I don't see them letting up anytime soon. They have been slowly gaining back trust and whatnot, and cutting back would only hurt them.

I'm just surprised they haven't done a lump sum deal yet with Live and Game Pass. Like a discounted version for $100 a year or something for both and really try to get more people to jump on board.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

^^ I wouldn't give them $100 or even $90 for both. I try to get a year of Live for $45 and Game Pass has been a "miss" for me... I'd liken it to the EA Pass which I only pay $30 for (and actually use).

I wish Microsoft would have just kept the course going all digital. Their response did more damage than just doing it, and I'd be way happier.

But of course I'm one of those idiots that likes all digital

The 360 titles have more use for more Xbox Live customers due to the BC, meaning you can play them on the Xbox One and don't need the old console, unlike with PS3 and Vita games. Sony likely saw dwindling value to their customer base in offering those console titles for free. Not so with Microsoft.

It also promotes the BC functionality, and is possible an incentive MS can use to get publishers to put titles on BC. Like, while Microsoft negotiates the licensing for BC for certain titles, they can offer to make it an GwG "freebie," with a guaranteed amount of revenue for the publisher. So the publisher knows that licensing for BC will, at the least, earn them the GwG revenue, which makes it a safer bet and more appealing venture.

All true, but if MS is giving away four free games a month and online services for $59.99/yr while Sony is giving away two free games a month and online services for $59.99, it's not hard to imagine that MS might back off as a cost-cutting measure or at least move those 360 games into the Game Pass umbrella to increase their library and get more people to subscribe to that service as well

Is that why my Android Phone always wants to download something if I end up on the first page of this thread?

Why is it hard to imagine? Maybe MS estimates the value of those games is generating more revenue via increased subscribers than they're costing them. Sony is seeing ever decreasing value from keeping those games in their subscription, MS is not.

It's also not like there has to be strict parity between the consoles, and MS only does something because Sony does, and vice-versa.

To put it another way: Sony was giving away games as part of PSN long before MS did. Why did Sony ever do that at all, when they could've cut costs and not give away any games, like MS was doing?

I noticed yesterday that if you want to grab a game from the Xbox store that is BC, you either need a 360, or you have to use the website. I thought with AC: Rogue it was just a fluke, but later I was curious about the price of AC: Liberation, and I had to go to the website again.
