So does turning instant on off make the Xbox boot up slower in general? Bc now seems like full minute when instant on was on it was booted by the time I hit the input button on tv...

Have you tried contacting Microsoft/Xbox Support? They may be aware of an issue with the latest update on some Xboxes, and know of a fix.

You mean about turning on by self? No, not yet. Thanks. I guess I can live with a few extra seconds of boot up if I don’t hear that damn noise from power box...

Microsoft has added five new games to the Backward Compatibility program today. The entire Lost Planet series, including all three numbered titles and Colonies, is now playable on Xbox One. The first backward compatible Resident Evil title is Code: Veronica X, which joins today as well.
Download links for all the titles (except the original Lost Planet, which doesn't appear to be On Demand yet) are available below, and physical copies will work as always.

GWG for March:
Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion (XB1)
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (XB1)
Star Wars: Republic Commando (Xbox)
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (360)
It's kinda funny to see Sony remove PS3 & Vita games and MS now including original Xbox games. Good for them! If the rumors shake out and their next console includes previous generations going all the way back to Xbox, most gamers are going to have one hell of a digital library built up with the free games they have been offering.

It looks like Microsoft is releasing a new Disc-less Xbox One in May. I would if this means the next round of consoles will be this way as well?

That's a stupid idea. That is MS pushing tech that it wants to normalize rather than responding to consumer demand.

As someone going back and rebuying classic games and systems, I'd much rather have media that will work forever than relying on a company staying in business that can provide me with a digital copy should my console die.
I'm not anti-digital, I buy plenty of games digitally but I like options.

I don't really like digital for games.
Takes anywhere from 10-20 hours to download a complete game and then you run into space issues. A 500 GB or 1 TB drive is not enough for dedicated library storage of all your games. If you regularly buy games and download all the freebies, you're not going to have enough space to keep all the games you like.
It already takes long enough to download constant updates to these games. I mean shit, I had to download a new 45 GB update to NBA 2K19 and that took 5 1/2 hours alone.

I won't buy one because I've got an X and don't need another, but i can see the appeal. Between Xbox Live Gold and GamePass, that's a ton of games right there. And I used to be vehemently anti digital only, but I am shifting toward it - I impulse buy stuff on sale sometimes, and it is nice being able to switch games without having to switch disks. (I am enjoying putting my movies on Vudu as well).
If I were to get an additional console for another TV in my house, I would definitely consider this one.
I do worry what happens if/when the Cloud holding my games dries up, or they decide to fool with the licensing, but so far I think I've only 'lost" one thing (the song Hier Kommt Alex on Rock Band). I still wish they would allow some sort of trade in for digital content when you're done with it though.
I think this is an attractive device for a large segment of the gaming, and potential-gaming, public.
There will be a lot of people with slow connections or data caps that it will be less attractive for, so MS should come up with some way to more closely monitor bandwidth usage for them. Hard drive space as well- i bought a huge hard drive a while back when they were on sale, but before that, I had to manage what I had downloaded pretty regularly. The default hard drive should be much bigger than the current One's.

And then you factor in how brick and motor stores would react. I know they sell digital games but I can't believe they sell all that many, and even then they have to know it's a way to cut them out of the games ecosystem. But the game companies still need them to sell consoles, so...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
There's no advantage to it for consumers. How much is it going to save in manufacturing costs? $25, if that? They already have the option to buy everything digital. Now they just can't ever play a physical copy. If one goes on sale, you can't buy it. If you want to rent or borrow a game, you can't. This is exactly the same shit they tried before launching the XO. Sounds okay in theory, but it's part of their stated agenda to eliminate physical media which would give them a monopoly on game distribution and pricing. I think it's a toe in the water as a part of a bigger plan -- getting console consumers used to the idea of not owning physical copies of games. I think it's a bad precedent.
