re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I'm hoping for some input from those with PS4 compatible Headphones....both wired and wireless....since I might have to get another pair after my trusty good sounding Skullcandy PLYR 1 broke...I've got them glued and taped but the wife said get another pair if needed. No rush...for now....but I'm looking at al options with a budget around $200...give or take some.

The Skullcandy's are wireless with a transmitter base that uses one of the USB Ports and ties in the back via optical. I like the wireless for the fact I sit about 9-11 ft away from the projector. It does have 7.1 and it makes a world of difference. Has felt ear cuffs which I prefer....

I have a friend who is pretty tech savy and one of those who does extensive research on anything before buying. His high end set broke down and he ended up with those high end SteelSeries Arctis Pros...which is a bit out of my range....I asked him about the SteelSeries 7's but he said don't because the DTS 2.0 doesn't work and usable with the PS4 so it's stereo. I asked him about a few others which he didn't know about much or heard a few things but here they are and wanted to ask if anyone knew, had experience with, saw reviews, etc...

HyperX Cloud Flight S.....Wireless, shows with 7.1, great battery life at 30 hours. I've seen far more reviews on the wired sets but about everyone has gotten stellar reviews. This one is at the top of my list for now.
Lucidsound LS41 Wireless......no nothing about the brand but have seen these in a list of Top 10 Headphones. Most praise the audio quality but some complain about the chat. Earcups are praised.
Razer Nari Wirless 7.1......No experience with Razer but these seem to have mostly positive reviews except for one thing...the mic....which some or most feel holds these back from being awesome. Good Audio and ear cups....
Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless.....In the past I haven't thought of Turtle Beach much, more like all name and no substance. But my friend said these might be worth a look especially for the price.
Astro A50...I remember the older models from years back that came in looking good but had all sorts of issues (quality) but sounded good. I've seen some of the older 92017) units up on Amazon with a tempting price but horrible reviews, Price wise, right at my limit yet these seem to give a ton of audio options. No Bluetooth, seen no mic issues but some on sound volume.

I still would like to include the SteelSeries 7 but the DTS Only with PS4 reverting to Stereo is a bummer for me. I'd include the wired sets like the Astro A40 but I don't care for a long cable tied to the PS4....unless you can just plug a USB cable into any power source which that's fine. Any thoughts or experiences with any or others above is welcomed...thanks..

So I've got 2 PS4s, one slim, one original. We've been playing Path of Exile on them, and have been noticing a LOT of crashes. Eventually, we realized it's only the original model that is crashing. Does that indicate the hard drive might be bad? Or is there some other way to figure out what's going on?

When is the last time you re-built the Database?.... a lot of players tend to forget and overlook this important "Housecleaning Upkeep" on their PS4's especially adding and deleting content, updates, etc...basically it's the PS4 version of Defrag....

https://www.psu.com/news/how-and-why...ase-regularly/

Also check and just see how crowded the drive is.....it's OS is only a small part on the drive but no matter most drives like a little breathing room. A decent 2TB (I use a Seagate Hybride) are well worth it unless you want to go ahead and grab say a 4TB USB Drive; move most of what you don't play over to it and keep a few games on the internal. Oh...wouldn't hurt to use a Can of Air and blow out those side and back vents while you're at it....or better yet, look up how to take apart and give the interior a good dust cleaning especially the fan.

Sony is giving away 2 free PS4 games (no Plus required). Runs till 5/5. It's live right now though Journey might be bugged (at least for me) as it asks you to pick a version but you can't see which version you are picking and it doesn't work anyway when click on it.
1. Uncharted Collection
2. Journey

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Hey Guys. I'm having an issue with one of my PS4 controllers that I hope you can help me resolve.

Every time I fire up my PS4 and then hit the home button, the light at the front turns orange and the controller is unresponsive. I can't figure out what the issue is. I looked up a few things online and it says the controller is in standby mode?

My other controller seems to be working just fine as the light is white and is responsive.

So how do I fix this?

If it helps to mention, I usually charge up my controllers by plugging a USB cable and plugging it into a wall, not the actual device. Because I don't want to keep the PS4 on all the time as it gets quite hot.

Main thing is, how do fix the orange light issue?

I charge mine in the wall as well and it sometimes happens to me. I usually just plug the remote directly into the PS4 and start it up that way. It connects after the first time, sometimes a second.

Well this is pretty crappy...it seems over in Europe they're getting a boatload of Free Themes...I hit a few and some are there and some are not....and some they are getting free is showing we still have to pay...I didn't check each and every one but that's just pathetic....

There's a Big in Japan sale at the PlayStation Store. There are lots of RPGs on sale if you're looking for long games to pass the social isolation time. https://blog.us.playstation.com/2020...in-japan-sale/

Yeah, two crappy budget simulation titles at the same time? That is weak sauce.

On the plus side though, I bet you don't own either of them already
