Well I stopped by Walmart and grabbed NBA 2K14 for $49.

I haven't opened it yet, I might try and exchange it for something else, as my local Walmart didn't have Injustice or Lego Marvel.

I did crack open my 3 games from Amazon, and was amazed by how fast ACIV, Killzone and Knack installed.

PS4 kills the One in install times. All that power...

I laugh at the talk of how much better the interface is on the One. Who really cares?!

Depends on what you want the console to do. They're both a bit confusing and incomplete at the moment.

I agree with that. However, the bottom line for me is playing video games and for that I believe that I made the right choice.

On default controls, double click share to start recording and double click share to stop.

To use voice commands say "Playstation - take screenshot". An icon should pop up on the top right of the screen indicating that it took the screenshot. I haven't done it, but the same may work for video. "Playstation - start/stop video"?

Sony's machine is slightly more powerful (significantly more if you ask a certain person around here). But the extra power may not necessarily translate into games looking that much better on a PS4 than the Xbox One. It all depends on the ability of the people making the games. So, in terms of how it can translate into games, you might see some PS4 games that look slightly better than Xbox One. But, the flip side is the kind of experience and/or games you are looking for.

Better processing and less dedicated ram to other operations. It will only translate to better multi-console games on the PS4 if the multi-platform developers don't develop to the lowest common denominator. However, I expect some fantastic and creative titles from the the PS4 only studios.

The main difference is the PS4 uses faster RAM which theoretically is over twice as fast. How this translates to games remains to be seen.

I thought DL the update for the console was bad but good grief...when I popped in BF4 it's showing 6hrs to complete update!!

I guess for now any updating will be at midnight....

Is that the new patch for BF4? My first update for that game only took about 20 mins.

In its most basic terms, it's a ~50% more powerful GPU combined with a RAM solution capable of much higher bandwidth.

RAM

System Memory Bandwidth: 176.0 GB/s vs. 68.3 GB/s (XB1 also has a small pool (32 MB) of esRAM that makes up some but not all the difference in speed and also serves to make the console harder to optimize).

It will translate into third party games running better on PS4 measured in some combination of resolution, frame rate or effects. We're already seeing this with lower resolutions on XB1 for AC4, BF4, CoD, not to mention all but one of the first party XB1 title running at 720p or 900p. The power difference will also result in PS4 exclusives being more technically impressive.

The difference is not as small as the enthusiast press think it is (or would have you believe), and the notion that this difference will shrink over time as developers learn to program for XB1 is nonsense. These are both X86 machines, and the more powerful one on paper will also be the more powerful one in practice and that will not change. If anything, the differences will grow as games grow more demanding.

Year 2 and beyond in this console cycle will show how much the power difference will translate into games. Sony's first party studios will probably crank out more visually impressive games later in the console lifetime.

Don't let that technobabble confuse you. Games on PS4 and XB1 look and play great. All that extra power means nothing for games running on both platforms. Developers for PS4 exclusives will be the only ones, IMO, taking advantage of those differences.

I do. But I'm not a PS fan. I haven't seen the PS4 in action.

Don't know...it shows around 607mb and mine gets stuck at the 337 mark and just stops. I'm getting a timed out message from the servers. When I tried the second time it picked up right at the 337mb mark and displayed 20min, then 47 min, 1hr, then 3hrs and now shows 4hrs. I may just cancel out and retry hoping to hit another server.

Played the first section of SP campaign...my gosh what a sight. I'm not much into MP but I'd play this just for the visuals...and the sound is worth it to.

I am having audio dropouts now. First in Ghost and now on the dashboard with the background music. Connected through optical, and the receiver keeps showing the signal is dropping out. Others talking about it here:

Is there any way to get uncompressed surround sound through HDMI? I have mine connected to my receiver via HDMI and it is set to PCM but I am only getting sound through the front left and right speakers and sub of my 5.1 setup.
