So freakin' excited for this game! I never did fully complete FO3 or NV, but I'm determined to complete this one once it's out.

The Fallout themed Loot Crate is taking pre-orders tomorrow at 12 pst. Comes with a hoodie and Dogmeat plush among other things.

It's $100 though.

Yeah. 100 bucks is kinda steep. I paid that much for a Dead Space 3 crate several years ago that was straight from the developers and I felt it was worth it.

I am mulling this over. I will probably say fuck it and do it. It is just a one time buy, right? You don't have to create a subscription do you? I recently dumped my Nerd Block and Horror Block subs when I finally realized that I was just getting one time usage junk or throwing half of it away or selling it on ebay. They were fun to get each month but just weren't worth the money in my opinion.

Re: Fallout 4

I was going to order it but after they showed that two items would be an ugly stuffed dog and an even uglier hoodie I'd never wear?! Nope. The hoodie is not even exclusive, it's $60 at the Bethesda store. Figure the dog is valued at $20 that only leaves $60 of supposed value there.

Yeah. I think you convinced me to stay out of it. That hoodie is hideous and while it is unique, I can't see me actually wearing it anywhere. And I don't give a shit about a stuffed animal.

Lol. I was able to get in, and get to checkout, but it won't let me pay because I can't select a state to ship to. Fuck off, Loot Crate. Saved me $109.

Haha, people are getting timed out and seeing 2-3 charges on their card. One guy has seven.

Re: Fallout 4

Yeah, I was going to look at it but couldn't even get to the site. Must be a lot of people interested in it. I think I am still going to pass since I got in on one of the super-duper editions of the game anyway. The only good thing about this set is if you do get it and don't like it, you will likely make a decent amount on it on ebay (depending on how many they sell).

Still can't even get to the page. That's pretty pathetic.

What phones will fit in the Pip-Boy Edition Pip-Boy?

For the latest information, please read our most recent update posted on Bethesda.net

Is there a pre-order bonus?
Everyone who pre-orders a physical copy of the regular or Pip-Boy Edition of the game will receive a Perk Poster with your copy of the game. Digital pre-order bonuses vary by retailer, check with your retailer for more info.

Re: Fallout 4

I don't even know why I bother to get physical copies anymore since you have to install the game to play (by the way, does PS4 require the same thing?). May as well purchase digital from this point forward. Don't have to wait for delivery as well.

My storage is 99.7% full, and I don't want to uninstall anything :( Anyone recommend a good external HD to add storage space for the XO?

Yup.
The only reason I went physical for this game is because I snagged one of the pip-boy sets. Even then, I'll probably trade in the disc and re-buy digitally. we'll see...

I have a Seagate 2TB Backup Plus, which seems to work fine. I wouldn't go any smaller than 2TB, but just be aware that USB3.0 is mandatory.

nickdawgy 10-08-15 11:26 AM

Re: Fallout 4

The problem with digital is you might want to trade the game in later. But I guess this is as good of a game as ever to keep for the long haul. I do love not having to switch discs. But I also ordered the Pip Boy version, so there's that.

what does the pip boy app do?

nickdawgy 10-08-15 11:32 AM

Re: Fallout 4

I think it turns your phone into the Pip Boy. Like shows you what you'd see in game on the phone.

Re: Fallout 4

Doesn't look like my Galaxy S6 Active is going to fix snugly in there so I guess I get to look forward to using that foam insert, so that should be fun.

I ended up canceling my Pipboy Edition from Amazon yesterday and just sticking with my Best Buy preorder. Figured with the GCU and the $10 reward zone cert, that was the way to go.

Spiderbite 10-08-15 02:44 PM

Re: Fallout 4

Yeah, I have the Pipboy edition and plan on keeping the goodies for the long haul. So I may just sell my disc and buy it digital. Depends on how it all comes.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Not sure how or if I will use the Pipboy or the app. I just wanted one because it looked so cool.

spainlinx0 10-08-15 08:04 PM

Re: Fallout 4

My phone won't be fitting in the pipboy so I guess I'll just sell the package and pick up a regular version.

nickdawgy 10-08-15 10:56 PM

Re: Fallout 4

My phone won't fit either. I have an iPhone 6 Plus. But the case still looks cool.

I mean it's Fallout. Between this CE, the guide, and the Loot crate box, I dropped $250.

Raul3 10-09-15 04:01 PM

Re: Fallout 4

Yes, lately I have been buying games until they reach ~$30. Either digital or in disc. I don't do a lot of trade-ins.

But this game will give me at least 100 hours. Plus DLC. And with mods even more.

I'm getting the XO version, hopefully no bugs. Predownload, and it will be available to me at 9 PM 11/09, 12 am EST 11/10. I already asked for a 2 day vacation at work.

Hopefully my wife and kids won't bother me too much those days. :D

Re: Fallout 4

So how do I get the BC version of Fallout 3? Is it a specific preorder somewhere or is it just like how Gears handled its BC versions?

Decker 10-22-15 09:40 AM

Re: Fallout 4

Best Buy has put up an exclusive Gold Bundle for Fallout 4. It contains the game, the Season Pass and some exclusive Vault Boy socks.

http://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/B...anvasWidth=500

They're selling the bundle for $84.99 (PS4) (XO) which is a $5 discount over buying the game and the Season Pass separately (plus free socks), but of course when you figure in the GCU Discount (which you never see on DLC) and the $10 RZ credit for preordering, you can get it for essentially $58 + (tax on $68).
It's such a good deal, I'm probably walking away from my Pip Boy edition for this instead. Yes that one is rare and valuable, but I really have no use/desire/space for it. Plus this is way cheaper.

are you going to use those socks? because if you do you need to post a picture.

I'm opposed to the idea of season passes, but the Fallout games (along with a couple other franchises) have a decent enough track-record with them.

So if I preorder Fallout 4 on the PSN store and leave my PS4 in standby mode, will it download automatically as soon as it's available so I can play it when I wake up?

Yes. It's likely to download days in advance and have a countdown timer to 12:00 ET on release date when it will unlock.
If you buy it now (or have bought it recently) it would certainly be worth it to buy the SP as well to cross the $100 threshold for the period 10/6-11/3 and get $15 PSN credit back

I would definitely take my kid to any Pediatrician that wore those socks!

He can wear the socks, and if anyone laughs, he can just point to his Tesla and say "scoreboard!"

Re: Fallout 4

I instantly pre-ordered the sock version after seeing it. Mainly because of the rare instance of GCU working on a season pass, but also for the socks.

I'm also keeping my 2 Pip Boy edition pre-orders (1 for XB1, 1 for PS4).

Anyone expect Black Friday deals on Fallout 4 (PC)...or is is too soon?
I have a 23% off coupon at Green Man and I'm thinking that may be as good as it gets for the immediate future. What do you think?

Ginwen 10-24-15 04:40 PM

Re: Fallout 4

The last one was at least 10, and maybe 20 off within a couple of weeks of coming out, so wouldn't surprise me, but I haven't seen anything official yet. This is the one game where I can't wait until it comes down a bit, I must have it the first day.

Raul3 10-25-15 12:29 AM

Re: Fallout 4

I think it's easier to get a good deal for any of the console versions, in BF, than for PC.
