Fallout 4 Has 400+ Hours of Content

"I've played the game for probably 400 hours, and I'm still finding stuff that I haven't seen," producer says.

There was never much of a doubt that Fallout 4 would be an absolutely massive game that will surely end up taking up a lot of your time. But now, the game's lead producer has said he's played the post-apocalyptic RPG for 400 hours already and still has not seen everything it has to offer.

400+ hours of content != I've played this game for probably 400 hours and I'm still finding stuff.

I'm shocked that a media outlet would create a news story like that out of that quote though.

With some of the 'mini' games within the game, I can totally see that (Like the settlements part of the game, I can see myself losing dozens of hours into that.)

Awesome. I bet the main quest is about 10 hours. :)

Re: Fallout 4

It took me well hour 100 hours to finish Fallout 3 and all of the side quests and DLC, which is more than plenty for a full game. The only way I could see myself approaching 200+ hours with Fallout 4 is if it had an online element to it.

400 hours of crafting! Count me in.

That article was a waste of Internet bandwidth.

Amazon has the Prima Collectors Edition Guide on pre-order for $25.33. Is this worth buying? I've never pre-ordered through Amazon before. Will my card be charged at time of Pre-Order or Time of shipment?

I never really understood buying guide's these days when every thing is easily searchable online. I guess that's just me.

Not to mention, it's far easier finding specific help when googling something rather than flipping through a big strategy guide to find it. Although waiting a bit helps there to be more info about a game online.

I haven't purchased a guidebook since Fallout 3, but I might get this one just so I can see the maps of everything, and the crafting guide.

I don't really do guides anymore either, but I am making an exception with this one.

Blast! This isn't being released on 360 or PS3? Is that the norm for games now? Was planning on just borrowing one of those to play.

At least for the big "AAA" games, yes, that is now the norm.

Why? Computers are strongly preferred for this type game. There will be hundreds of mods for this game...not to mention patches.
I'm currently playing a game of FNV with a user mod... a fully voiced follower named "Willow". She is great... a really terrific mod.

Speaking of patches, has everyone forgotten the game breaking bugs in New Vegas? Why the rush to buy at release?

I just rock a cheap laptop, wouldn't use a nice rig enough.

Probably will just get a Wii U and force the Fallout disc into it. I'll make it work.

Re: Fallout 4

Why do many articles about this game completely ignore Fallout: New Vegas? I've seen two articles which called it the first Fallout game in 8 or 9 years. Just because NV didn't use a number in the name?

GoVegan 08-28-15 02:01 PM

Re: Fallout 4

Actually, never mind. That question is essentially:

Why is clickbait video game journalism so bad?

I never had the game breaking bugs. I'd rather play my games on console. Besides, didn't they say consoles are gonna be able to use mods soon anyway?

Xbox One is getting mod support (for mods created on PC) soon after the Creation Kit is released for PC. They're "looking at" doing it for PS4 but no confirmation.

Fallout 4 $30 Season Pass Revealed

Bethesda has announced the 'All Access Granted' Season Pass for Fallout 4 today, which like all Season Passes will do exactly what a Season Pass should. It'll entitle you to all of the game's DLC as and when it drops, which Bethesda predicts will be worth at least $40.

"We've always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more. To reward our most loyal fans, this time we’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30," the announcement reads.

"Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass."

Fallout 4 will also be supported by "free regular updates", in much the same way as Skyrim's fixes and various features. And of course, there'll be mods galore for Xbox One first then PS4.

I don't do season passes but Fallout DLC is about as much of a must buy as you can get. I might go for this.

MoviePage 09-09-15 08:35 PM

Re: Fallout 4

"We don't know what the actual DLC will be yet," but please go ahead and pay us for it. The whole concept is pretty silly. On the other hand, Bethesda is one of the very few game developers I would trust to deliver worthwhile DLC (some of it, anyway).

Spiderbite 09-10-15 07:04 AM

Re: Fallout 4

The only problem with Fallout DLC is that I am usually tired of the game by the time I get to the DLC due to them packing so much into the main game. And that's a good thing.

fumanstan 09-10-15 09:54 AM

Re: Fallout 4

I've never bothered with Fallout DLC basically for that reason too. I already have the base game pre-ordered, I won't bother with the season pass until much later when it's discounted.

Raul3 09-10-15 01:13 PM

Re: Fallout 4

Yeah, I got more than 100 hours of FO3. And then another 100 or so of the DLC. Just for the 360 version. I've done some gaming in the PC version too, but it's less than 50 hours.

On the other hand, having the DLC ready to play the first day is always awesome.
