F-ing amazing, can't wait.

Re: Fallout 4
Game just started preloading in PC. It was already preloading in X1 as mentioned before.
Thinking about getting the PC version... I already have the X1 version of course. :D |
Re: Fallout 4
Huge download. I didn't realize it was so large. Looks like 2.5 to 3 hours. Yikes.

Re: Fallout 4
Someone from that other site has the game - Germany for the PS4(?) I believe. Holy shit - it looks fucking amazing!

Really? I think you need glasses! Don't get me wrong, the game-world looks great and a lot of fun, but just those screen shots, on a technical level, the textures, and the character models, especially their faces, look like dog shit.
But again, whatever, it's Fallout, the graphics are irrelevant. |

man, this looks epic. wish i got into F3...

Re: Fallout 4
The graphics look bad. There is no other way to say it.
I can't wait until Monday night and spend hundred of hours playing this game though! :D |
Re: Fallout 4
I'm not a huge graphics whore, though. I'd play this if it was PS3 only.
|
Re: Fallout 4
I just wanted to let everyone know how excited I am for the release of this game. Good to know!

I'm 47 and remember two years ago on the PS3 just staring in awe at the scene in Tomb Raider where she's on the cliff with the water and sky in the background. Just beautiful.

Re: Fallout 4
It looks like ass that I'm ready to get my hands on.
|
Re: Fallout 4
Yeah, I'm not at all saying that it doesn't look fun or that I'm not looking forward to playing it.

Re: Fallout 4
For those getting the game IGN basically has a Fallout 4 mania coverage going on their site right now...
http://www.ign.com/ And Gameinformer just released their review......9 of 10 http://www.gameinformer.com/games/fa...wasteland.aspx Gamespot......9 of 10 http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/fall.../1900-6416306/ |
Re: Fallout 4
reviews coming in pretty hot 9 - 9.5. mostly similar reactions: graphics are fine but not "next-gen" spectacular. great story. changes to VATS and gear seem good. mixed-reviews on new skill-tree system. little glitchy but not as bad as last-gen games. new settlement feature well received.

Re: Fallout 4
Just out of curiosity, I'm a fallout newbie - I played 3 but not for long. I wanted to ask if this is the type of game you can freely roam easily - meaning do they make you gather a ton of stuff and complete a ton of missions before opening certain spots on the map or letting you build certain things.
I ask this because Fallout is a massive game and I'm simply not going to have the time to play hours on end. |
Re: Fallout 4
The previous games pretty much let you go wherever you want, whenever you want, however you want. The only thing you'll run into is some areas you stumble across will most likely have deadlier enemies that will require you to be higher level to be able to survive.
But, if you are able to survive, you'll get better stuff and accelerate the leveling up process. |
Re: Fallout 4
cool - thanks
|
Re: Fallout 4
Destructiod gave it a much more modest review at 7.5. Basically saying it's more of the same; both good and bad.

Do you actually have to preorder the game from somewhere to get Fallout 3 code? Or just buy it within a certain time period? I was planning in picking it up tomorrow from target to take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free offer they have in games. But if it has to be preordered I may do that at Best Buy to get the free $10 reward zone points and discount from GCU.

Re: Fallout 4
Downloading on PC now. Can't wait to dive in to it, so much to play this week!

Re: Fallout 4
I was able to see IGN's review after 17 popups.
I'm excited. |

Re: Fallout 4
Performance analysis
For now though, evidence so far suggests those buying Fallout 4 on console should get an overall smoother experience from PS4. It's far from perfect, and we have a suspicion re-tests will be due once each machine receives new patches down the line. As ever, we'll update as new information comes in. Meanwhile, for those with PC as their platform of choice, all the signs look good for a smooth experience even on budget kit. We're currently putting together an in-depth guide to settings tweaks and recommended setups, so expect that in the next couple of days. |

Bigger changes are reserved for VATS, or the "Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System." In Fallout 3 and New Vegas, hitting the left bumper on your controller would freeze time completely, allowing you to target specific enemies and their weak spots using a number-driven system of probabilities and critical hit rolls. And while the latter elements are still present, the safety of frozen time is nowhere to be found. VATS now slows time down to a crawl instead, which is still useful, mind, but not godlike in its broad, ass-saving applications. |
Re: Fallout 4
Yeah, some reviewers are saying that the game is more hardcore than expected. Than it feels like a 90's game.
And of course that you die a lot, if you want to play it like a game from the last... 5 years? (With exceptions of course) I really hope they activate the game at 12:00 am EST, 9 PM PSt, so I can start playing tonight, being in California. :) |
Re: Fallout 4
Hopefully a difficulty slider will make things not as hard. It's already a long game with lots to do - I don't need that playtime padded by having to replay a lot of sections due to dying a lot.
|
Re: Fallout 4
I never played any of the previous games, but I'm looking forward to playing this one(in about 5 hrs :D).
|
Re: Fallout 4
I'm pretty sure someone will come up with a mod that freezes time when in VATS. In fact I'd be surprised if that doesn't happen in the next day or so.
BTW, the higher the difficulty the better the loot. |
Re: Fallout 4
Anyone playing on the PC will probably want this mod:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/49/? I've seen screenshots and the difference is very nice. |
Re: Fallout 4
I'm not concerned with the VATS changes. It sounds more realistic now.

Anyone buy the Quantum Cola at Target? I'm tempted for shits and giggles (hopefully the former won't actually happen).
