Fallout 4

Re: Fallout 4
Ever since Skyrim I've made it a rule to always play through the Main story first. They've always seem to be the weakest part of Bethesda games. I do try to mix it up with one or two side or Faction quests but for the most part my focus is on the Main Quest.

This has to be the first game ever where I'm not rushing at all (not even in the slightest) to get through the main story line - just want to experience it and it hasn't dissapointed yet (even with the bugs). Still a noob to this game and I also still suck at it a bit but I love it and every time I come back to this thread I'm learning new things to do.

Re: Fallout 4
For the packrats out there, you'll come across armor (and/or can upgrade items) to "Pocketed ____ _____" which increases your carry weight by 5-10 pounds per piece. The Lone Wanderer perks under the Charisma tree increases carry weight by a significant amount. My character can carry 325 pounds just from the perk, and I have only the default 1 point in Strength.
I've put in a sizable chunk of time so far. I think I'm pretty far into the main quest line. Kinda tempted to finish it fairly quickly and start a new character. Always wanted to do a melee only(ish) character in Fallout but never got around to it. RPGs tend to be more enjoyable for me the second time around when I know where to get certain items and which quests / factions suit my ideas for the character.
While I know if I play long enough I can just max out every stat and perk, that's kind of a cop out in my opinion. My biggest personal criticism of the Bethesda style games is that it feels like you don't have to commit to anything half the time. In Skyrim I was somehow a vicious assassin, a werewolf, and the Arch Mage of a Magic School, amongst other things.
I guess overall when my biggest complaint about a game is "You can do everything," it's totally what the kids today call a "first world problem. "

Just remember though, that your companions can carry 150 weight, so in the end it's pretty comparable to that Perk, plus you can improve companions if you really want to. I don't see Lone Wanderer being worth it unless you really don't want a companion.

Just had a brotherhood of steel helicopter crashland directly on top of my sidequest destination. It killed ten people standing outside and the head guy blamed me so I had to kill him. Body parts everywhere! Couldn't stop laughing after that

I'm getting irritated at having to travel back to the settlement to dump crap off all the time. A meager 10 lbs of capacity per point added to strength is bullshit. It is just not worth doing. Many guns weigh more than 10 lbs. I think this is way off when you consider all the crap you have to lug around.

I started the game today and I honestly do not understand people complaining about the graphics. The game looks positively beautiful to me. Especially after having played New Vegas in the past year.

Comparing it to a 5 year old game from last gen is disingenuous, at best. Compare it to something more comparable, like Witcher 3, and it falls way short.

I am always 5 years behind on my games so it looks great to me. I think this is the first game I have played within a month of it's release date since I bought Halo 2.
I am loading up Dogmeat with tons of junk for crafting and noticed that there is a "take all" button but not a "store all" button. That sure would make things easier though I do admit that I agree with others that being able to give Dogmeat 800 pounds of junk does feel like cheating a a bit. Is there any weight limit for Dogmeat?
Also, Dogmeat will bark and it will say he has found something. Then I go over to him and can't find anything. Even if I figure out how to get to "fetch" once he find something, I do get or find anything. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm almost regretting not getting this game but fear it might be a little late. About 1/3 of my friends list always show playing Fallout while the other 2/3 are all over with Destiny, COD, Diablo, Elder Scrolls, Warframe and Battlefront. But the Bloodborne DLC hits next week and I finally got back with Destiny The Taken King. And seeing where one took over 64 hours on the Main Quest alone; I'm not sure I have the time.

Graphics are fine on this (I have the PS4 version) they're just outdated from time to time and the animations are a little rough, but then something cool brings it back around (God Rays, the radioactive thunderstorms, etc; ) and at least it runs really well 95% of the time.
