Re: Watch Dogs

I don't get it -- do people think that's a veiled Trayvon Martin reference or something?

Nope, someone should e-mail that to CNN so they can have some BREAKING NEWS over it.

Still, it's (in my opinion) nowhere near as good (or as much fun) as the GRAND THEFT AUTO series. But, chances are, if you enjoy that series, you'll like this game.

I have the XBox One version, so I can't comment on the PS3 vs. PS4 - but given that graphics aren't exceptional (they're not bad, they're just not anything groundbreaking - pretty standard, IMO), I'm guessing there's not a huge difference between the two.
Funny you mention the graphics as this is the game that is going to make me buy an xbox one....I know the game doesn't push the systems limits graphically or anything but go ahead and play the 360 version then go back to XBO - big difference.

Re: Watch Dogs

The graphics are better than what I expected after seeing those last few trailers just before release. I'm really not certain where sandbox games go from here graphically.

Infamous SS is a sandbox game that's miles ahead of this one graphically.

Yeah, and I got bored with Infamous the day after I bought it. Still managed to finish it, but it felt like a chore.

I wouldn't say that the graphics are leaps and bounds ahead of Watch Dogs. Yes, there might be a tad more detail and clarity but there is also a lot of repeated patterns, buildings, etc. I have seen quite a bit more variety in the map to go along with the size of the city in Watch Dogs.

Re: Watch Dogs

I played this game with my daughter today and we had an absolute ball. I had her on the iPad challenging me to races where she controlled the police. She *loved* trying to screw me up while I raced around the city. That is a really cool multiplayer mode and I imagine we will do that a good bit.

Re: Watch Dogs

I have spent about 20 hours or so playing this game and I have finished a whopping 3 story missions.

I'm trying to finish the first act, and then fool around for a long time.

Yeah, I find that I have to force myself to do the main missions.

Re: Watch Dogs

I think I'm on the second act. I probably have done about ten story missions, maybe a few more.

Do you get more unlocks after the first act? I'm still only on act one "Open Your World" and there's already a crazy amount of stuff to do.

Re: Watch Dogs

I actually played for like 5 hours before completing Open Your World. I had to do that mission just because a lot of things were locked and I had 11 XP points.

Re: Watch Dogs

The thing is the later story missions are so amazing....They did such a great job at making each mission feel different, a problem even the best open world games suffer from....

the first act is really a tutorial at times..and when I finally started playing it it was funny how simple they seemed because I had already done everything..in hindsight I would have told myself to get through act 1 before spending 30 hours running around...lol

Re: Watch Dogs

I just did my first online hacking and that is some intense stuff. I hid behind a car and got to close to 40% before the guy got close to me and I was sure he pegged me. However, I quickly jumped in the car and sped off and I guess the guy still didn't figure me out. Well, the rest of the mission/hack was simply me circling around a building while the guy was on foot running around it trying to figure out who or where I was.

Re: Watch Dogs

Just started act 3. Honestly, this really reminds me of LA Noire in that I was very pumped about it then sorely let down when it was just a "really good" game instead of a "great " game.

The further I go along it is moving from a good game to a great game. The first 2 missions of ACT 2 were fun as hell and I'm looking forward to what else this game has in store. My biggest complaints now are still the driving and hearing the same news stories, Chicago wins in a blackout, over and over again. I can see this series grow and get better in coming iterations.
