PC master race! I'm not sold on this as a must buy yet, I think it will be a Steam sale purchase for me down the line.
It's a Ubisoft title. It'll be $39, if not less, by June.

I only have this pre-ordered as every one and my mother is getting it on street date.

Wow. Delay the game for a year, release trailers showing a severe downgrade in graphics, reveal 800-900p and only 30fps. They are lucky there's nothing coming out this year or I'd cancel my preorder a second time. Fully expecting a piece of shit at this point.

Fixed. Gotta keep that gap between PS4 and XO as clear as possible, you know.

Re: Watch Dogs

May we go back to the original recommended system requirements for those on PC?

Processor: Core i7 3770 @ 3.5Ghz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0Ghz
RAM: 8 GB
Video Card: 2048 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 or higher (see supported list)
Sound Card: Surround Sound 5.1 capable sound card
Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
nVidia GeForce GTX460 or better, GT500, GT600, GT700 series;
AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series
Intel® Iris™ Pro HD 5200
This game is taxing. Even going off the minimum requirements, Ubisoft wants all gamers utilizing a quad-core Intel processor or six-core AMD processor with a dedicated video card alongside 6-8GB of RAM.

I am genuinely not surprised they weren't able to max resolution and performance out on the next-gen consoles.

I don't have the proper seating chart for 792p. Can someone detail where I have to sit to not see all the pixels, or to see all the pixels, or whatever?

Re: Watch Dogs

I've uncovered a seating chart, developed by a coalition of experts from Ubi, Bethesda, id, Epic, Insomniac, Crytec, and a few others...

Dat PS4 eXperienZ... all dem extra p's.

I'm actually getting more interested in this game now. Maybe I'll pick it up. :)

Legit surprised.

Never believed 60 FPS for a second for an open world game this busy, but every indication I'd seen to date was full HD on PS4.

"Full HD" does not equate to 1080p.

It doesn't? There might be some other definitions and applications, but 99% of the use of that term these days most certainly refers to 1080p and I think it's silly or nitpicky to assume otherwise.

Dan 05-13-14 03:18 PM

Re: Watch Dogs

Agreed.

RichC2 05-13-14 03:36 PM

Re: Watch Dogs

HD is usually used to signify 720p, FHD is usually used to represent 1080p, and WQHD is usually used for 1440p. Not sure what marketing team rounded up those terms but that's the way of the world right now.

Re: Watch Dogs

I do love that it was neither 1080p nor 60 fps. Some Sony intern is fired.

Like all Ubisoft games, I'll pick this one up down the road (assuming word of mouth is good).

Yep. I have Wolfenstein pre-ordered which releases a week before. It's supposed to be fairly lengthy and I'll take my time so by the time I'm finished with that I should be able to trade in Wolfenstein and score a used copy for 10-15 bucks.

I'm going to sell all my possessions and build a master race gaming PC. Best video card I can find is $4500, so that's a start.

That is not a gaming card. n00b!

Yeah, but it's got all those GBs! and DDR5! and! AND!

That's about the way I'm heading. I have Wolfenstein on P.O as well and they said to get everything in the game takes 20hrs...and that does do 1080p @ 60fps. I don't want to rush thru so to jump on Watch Dogs so it's looking more like I'll see and read reviews and find out what June brings.

I'm not sold on Watch Dogs or Wolfenstein, but of the two, Watch Dogs seems like a much surer bet, especially with Destiny and Planetside 2 right around the corner.

Matthew Chmiel 05-13-14 06:26 PM

Re: Watch Dogs

Wolfenstein comes out next Tuesday. Watch Dogs is released that following Tuesday. Mario Kart 8 is released three days later on Friday.

... and then the gaming landscape is a desert until Destiny in September.

I'm buying all three with the probability that I won't own two of them by September.

Right now with E3 so close anything can happen. I wanted Wolfenstein for some good old fashion WWII shootem-up-blow-apart-kill Nazis game. For the most part June looks a bit thin while August and September are getting pretty crowded. Sony's E3 event is June 9th...a surprised release for June is doubtful but never know. If nothing in the near future after E3 then might end up getting Watch Dogs after all.

Rumor has it if you pre-order it, Microsoft will mail you the extra 8p in 6-8 weeks.

I'm taking a long shot that someone has hopefully delt with this before. I preordered Watch Dogs from Best Buy, but have a $20 reward zone cert that I want to apply to the order. I can't find anywhere to apply it post purchase, so I thought about canceling it and reordering it. But with Best Buy and their infinite wisdom, fear that I'll lose out on the $10 in reward points that you get when you preorder it. Since technically this will be my second preorder. Thoughts? Anyone else do this before?

Re: Watch Dogs

Does the $20 reward zone cert say "Not applicable on prior purchases"?

You'll get the $10 in RZ points between 7-14 days after purchase as long as you don't return the game. Since your original transaction can be cancelled, you'll still get the $10 back if you re-pre-order it.

Not that I see, but you're probably right about that.

OK, good. I'll give it a shot then. Thanks.

If you have GCU, Wolfenstein seems like a damn good deal at Best Buy.

$47.99 + $20 reward zone cert. Essentially $27.99. Play through it and trade it in and you should get at least $20 trade in I would think.

Really had no interest in this game, but went ahead and preordered it. Have 7 days to pick it up so can check reviews and such.
