I thought the terrors didn't give you jellies. Just crafting materials.

I'm still grateful for anyone who visits, though. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yesterday I finished the weekly real estate, the weekly House of Evil, and the Act 2 prize. I wish they had a post-prize bonus, but now all I have to do is upgrade the campfire. At least I got a couple donuts from neighbor visits the last couple days.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, same here. Right now I'm only collecting money. My campfire is at level 30, that's high enough for me.
|
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got the final Act 2 prize today, but I'm still about 12,000 blueprints away from the final monorail prize of the week.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I guess my game got glitched. I went to check on the shopkeepers challenge (Day 3) and it gave me my task.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
That sucks. Did you try visiting Krustyland or a neighbor, as that sometimes clears up glitches like prizes that get stuck instead of being awarded?

Spoiler:
TSTO Addicts write up for Act 3: http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/11/04/tr...act-3-is-live/ So far I'm underwhelmed. The new craftable items are a big yawn. (Though the Burns skin is great for those that missed it the first time.) The new prizes don't seem all that great either. But I'm not too far into the questline yet. Thankfully, I had the adults in the Simpson house overnight - it was pretty pointless to keep going for gummies late into Act 2, but I did anyway for some reason - so I didn't have to wait 8 hours. The kids are currently fighting M’nthster at the campfire. Maybe I'm not far enough into it yet, but I haven't quite figured out the Star Spawn. That TSTO Addicts post makes it seem like you have to tap on the dots where the Sunken Temple used to be, but that does nothing for me. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I tried visiting neighbors and Krustyland but that didn't reset it. At least visiting neighbors counted towards my total squishes. Maybe after Act 3 task is done things will reset.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, I think the spawned nightmares just aren't there anymore. I think I should be able to finish today's House of Evil task through neighbor visits, the pet cemetery, and the gateway to nowhere, but not sure what happens tomorrow.
Last night I was 30 skeletons away from upgrading the campfire (yes, I was still doing that) but figured I could get those from strays already wandering around my town, and decided to tell a zombie story instead so I could stack up on brains for wailing walls. So this morning I had zombies but no stray skeletons, but I'm sure I'll get those 30 eventually from neighbor visits. I'd already set all my characters to eight-hour tasks when I noticed that act 3 had begun, so I was able to free them up and set them to the task in the Simpsons house. Then this morning I figured I wouldn't start the kids' story until I knew what happened with the adults an hour later, and so I was able to get them on the fighting thing. I agree that the crafting items so far are underwhelming. Wailing walls will probably continue to be the way to go. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Whoa! Maybe it's just my game, but there is a HUGE glitch in Act 3. The kids just finished battling M'nthster at the campfire for the first time, so it reappeared for me to tap on at the Sunken Temple. So I tapped... and tapped... and tapped. I have now unlocked ALL of the prizes and M'nthster is still there, goading me for more taps. This is crazy. I could only get out of that by doing a neighbor visit. Anyone else experiencing this bug?
Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/nxg6Kcf.jpg While I just wrecked some of the fun of the game for me, at least I don't have to stress about candy apples now. Ha. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The kids finished fighting M'nther and then I tapped him on the temple 10 times and he disappeared. No glitch, and no prizes, so I guess I have to do it the hard way. :)

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Leveling up the campfire and getting candy apples seems to be a bitch on Act 3. Don't know how we'll be able to get all prizes if they don't improve the way to get this stupid new currency.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I didn't find out that I was supposed to start sending kids to the brown house now until I'd already sent them all (except for the ones fighting at the fire) on 8-hour tasks

And I agree that it seams harder now to get candy apples. I'm at about 400 into getting the 3rd prize, a skin holiday costume for homer. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I guess we all figured it out at the same time. I did the task of sending kids to hunt nightmares, but as soon as I reached the threshold of 10, the task disappeared. I was thinking of seeing if I could send more kids, but I didn't know where they'd went, and I didn't go to Town Hall to look them up. So I threw the rest of the kids on monorail or regular jobs. I later tracked down the hunters at the brown house, but didn't notice that the other kids could do that task until later, when all my characters were available and it showed that they could actually earn nightmares by doing it. The original hunters I quickly reassigned to the same task, but now I have to wait for them to finish so they can fight M'nthter again. -ohbfrank-
So first there was the adult task, then the kids fighting, then the kids fighting. And now they just repeat? Are we at the end of the questline already? By having so few characters available to earn event currency, it feels like they're trying to steer us to buy the stumps and mausoleums and other stuff that generates nightmares. I was glad to discover I do still have the old stump left over from Whacking Day, but that and the pet cemetery are all I have. I'm currently at 1256/1620 apples, so not too bad. |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
My stump from Whacking Day only gives me money, not snakes.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Why the hell does it always go to Krustyland for the first friend visit.... damn it!
|
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Are you touching the person's Krustyland when selecting their town? I know that'll do it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I feel for some reason that I am not getting all the nightmares from sending the kids to the brown house.
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/li...57614954E0B6A4 I guess it may be that there is a limit per brown house so I split the kids into two brown houses to maximize the number of candy apples that I can get. I think there may be a limit to the number of nightmares that are spawned at a time. So I split them into 2 houses. Tap one house. Tap all the nightmares. Then tap the other brown house. |

I got annoyed waiting for M'nthter to appear this morning so I assumed that activity was over and assigned my kids to hunt nightmares, only to realize I could tap the bubbles from the sunken temple and discover that he was due to reappear... in 10 minutes. :brickwl2: But if I start the second fight as soon as the first one ends, I should finish with two hours to spare. :fc: |
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
This third act is simple laziness on the EA developers part. They are simply pushing for people to use donuts as the currency is lacking and M'Nthter's appearances take 16 hours of a 24 hour day (4 hours for kids fight, then pop him 10 times at his tower, then 12 hour sleep until next appearance). Basically, we are seeing M'Nthter once a day unless you are Batman or suffer from insomnia.
|
Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, the third act sucks. But at least the prizes suck too. I mean, if I don't get them that's fine.
I didn't notice the issue with the brown houses. I'm sending 16 kids to the same brown house. LOL! I already got my 25 free donuts of the week, so I'm happy. Next week may be the last we receive 20 donuts, right? |
