Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Small update this morning to add a Bart Shadow Knight offer. 200 donuts for a decoration and skin? I'll pass, thanks.

And yeah, it's back to 24-hour tasks for me. I'm sitting on a bunch of elixir that I'll cash in, probably for walls, before the end. Nothing like kenbuzz's shopping list, though.

Fortunately, I've gotten a couple of donuts from neighbor visits in the last couple days. I hadn't gotten any in the several days since I finished the second friend prize. Of course I haven't been super-aggressive about visiting either.

I haven't bought the Hungry Hun or the Happy Sumo since I don't have enough donuts. The low price on the latter makes it a future possibility, though.

I suppose I should rearrange my town to accommodate the new buildings. Not much else to do.

I'm going to nuke my town soon and completely redo it.

David, the Akira storyline is satisfying, plus he makes free bonsai trees.

Whoah, you're nuking?! Brave!

Family Guy just started their Halloween quest Ghostbusters themed. Looks like a good one.

For those on iOS, there is now another city rebuilding game. Flintstones: Bring Back Bedrock.

Yeah, looks like fun. I'm building the Ghostbuster's HQ now.

Looking for neighbors for Family Guy but have no idea how to add since I don't have facebook.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Unfortunately, I think that is still the only way. I only have 1 neighbor.

I'm nearly done with that on ios. I've unlocked all the levels but am working on the extra content, which is pretty easy to earn. It's not nearly as polished a game as Tapped Out, but it's OK.

Another update to add more purchasable items.... alas, it's only the ability to permanently buy (and tether) nerds for cash or donuts. EA just sent a huge "psyche!" at me there... I'm still waiting for a trojan horse.

Meanwhile 551,225 Elixir will buy:
6 Lisa Walls (87,400)
6 Bart Walls (87,400)
224 Barbarian Walls (22,400)
60 Towers (45,000)
23 Hay Carts (4,600)
75 Banners (71,250)
37 Gates (55,500)
30 Tents (9,000)
16 Stocks (7,600)
7 Outhouses (21,000)
22 Guillotines (110,000)
Leaving me with 76 Elixir

Also:
Barbarian Homer is now Level 179
Archer Lisa is now Level 109
Goblin Bart is now Level 79
Wizard Marge is now Level 56

God, I can't wait for this event to wrap.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Unless EA comes out with something to buy with it, I'm going to hold on to my elixir and hope in converts to cash or XP. I've tricked out my castle with all the non-premium decorations, besieged it with tents, and put a wall around Springfield itself. I'm out of ideas.

Yeah, the interface feels really clunky after Tapped Out. But I really like the freedom you get in assigning tasks, and the ability to make characters work together. It's so much more fun than having the characters on the same eight hour tasks all the time.

Plus they're much more generous with premium currency.

My layout was garbage. Homer needed some tough love and the rebuild is coming along nicely. Got a few good ideas put together, gonna build a mega prison for Snake to call home. Got Willy, Munson home and Cletus' farm out by the illegal toxic dump in the middle of the woods next to the plant and I've got my stone cutter facility and medieval times village set up. I'm happy with what I'm doing so far.

Yeah, I bought one of the nerds for cash, but the donut ones are pretty good multipliers so I may get one of those. Seems very Walking Dead to me, though.

Yes, and they actually reward you when you finish their assigned tasks!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I decided to buy some nerds as well and built a chessboard. After I get done laundering my elixir I'll stitch some screencaps to show you what I've done.

Meanwhile, I'm starting the Big Launder tonight. I've already upgraded the two kids' castles and have purchased a few walls and towers to expand the main castle, leaving 408,808 use-it-or-lose-it elixir to spend on decorations. My spreadsheet tell me I can buy:

279 Walls (27,900)
75 Towers (56,250)
46 Gates (69,000)
29 Hay Carts (5,800)
39 Tents (11,700)
18 Stocks (8,550)
28 Banners (26,600)
18 Windmills (36,000)
9 Outhouses (27,000)
28 Guillotines (140,000)
leaving me with 8 Elixir

Gonna be a hell of a lot of tapping...

This is my first event since I started playing the game. Have previous ones had their own currency which got converted at the end? I'm just wondering if I should wait for that or cash out my elixir now.

Some of them have introduced converting machinery that, for example, ground hearts into dollars. Then they used those horrible spinning wheels that everyone hated.

The fact that we're so close to the end, though, makes me think this is not going to happen. I'll probably cash out on walls at the end of the day.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Thanks. I probably won't risk it and will cash out tonight. I've gotta say, I was underwhelmed with the event. I finished it relatively quickly and it got old very fast. (Yet I still kept on tapping  ) It probably didn't help that I have no connection to the game it was parodying. Hopefully the next event will be more engaging for me.

What about buying a bunch of whatever you can buy then sell it back to the game?
I have around $80 in elixer and doubt I'll spend it on a bunch of banners.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I was going through friends' towns today and saw something that made me laugh. Cocoa Beanie Mascot and Agnes Skinner, in her 6-hour sweeping up outfit, were standing next to each other. Both just standing, looking off into the distance. Then they walked toward each other at the same time, then stopped at the same time so they were side by side. Then, they did it again walking away from each other. Then, again, toward each other. Like a little dance. And then, Cocoa started walking away and a second later, Agnes swept up after him. Cocoa would stop, then Agnes would stop. Then again, and again. Yes, it made me giggle.

I think I'm going to spend a little time today fixing up my castles in a permanent configuration I like and where I like and spend a little of my elixir. I don't think I'm going to worry about spending it all. Gonna just let it go. Which, really, I think is part of the satire of the entire event. We're working and working and earning and earning elixir and gold... to what purpose! :)

I wish they would take whatever gold we've earned at the end of the event and turn it into XP.

I was also not really into this event. And some of the in game dialog made me sad.

Anyway, except for Otto, I have been saving donuts all year to spend on the Halloween event. Lets get something good going!

No reason not to buy stuff; as you say, you can always cash it in later if you don't want it.

Halloween 2014 is live.
https://tstoaddicts.files.wordpress....ng?w=500&h=281

This is a downloadable update, not in-game. iOS usually gets hit with the update first, than Google a little while later and then Amazon... although this time folks are seeing it for Apple and Android now already.

You'll want Wiggum and Lisa free.... event auto-starts with a dialogue between Chief Wiggum, Lisa and Kang…and your first task will be to build the Make-a-Thing Workshop. It’ll cost you $2,000 and take 8hrs to build.
