Basically, we are seeing M'Nthter once a day unless you are Batman or suffer from insomnia.

The 12-hour wait is just asinine, though I guess if one is aggressive you might get more cycles in than if it just flipped at midnight or 1 a.m. or whenever. The problem for me is that after one cycle of fighting M'nthter still has one life left because the only premium kid I have is Clockwork Bart. I guess I could use some of the free donuts I've been getting to buy Saxophone Lisa or something. I currently have M'nthter flipping at 11 a.m. (being away from the game yesterday set me back). Going through eight hours of fighting puts me at 7 p.m. (assuming I start the second one right away), then 12 hours starts me up again at 7 a.m. If I only need one cycle of fighting, then I can start at 3 a.m. instead! But even if I start at 7 tomorrow, I could finish at 11 a.m., then go again at 11 p.m., so I guess that would start paying off. I'm also thinking about buying one of the buildings with a kid character (Lovejoy at 180 or Powers at 150) to get more spawns, but in either case I feel like I'd be falling into EA's trap by spending my donuts just to get a Re-Neducation Center.

Nine days left in the event so I guess so. :(

Act 3 really has sucked but at least I got to craft UBO skin for Burns. I was bummed I missed that last time. Took me forever to squish 30 bunnies since they deactivated the campfire. That was kinda dirty pool.

I missed the UBO skin as well last year so I was very happy to be able to get that one. I also agree that Act 3 sucks. I'm about 600 candy apples into the UFP and need 2880. There's just over 9 days left and this is the first time I feel like I'm not going to get all the prizes. Seems like they made the first two acts too easy as I finished all the prizes with 2-3 days left before the next act each time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I accidentally assigned four of my kids to regular tasks overnight instead of hunting nightmares. :brickwl2:

Really the key is not awarding currency for tapping the star spawn and not having adult jobs. And the event menu still has the tab with the building with scary skins saying "Jobs available!" even though they don't give currency.

I was hoping for more from Holiday Homer, but no. I'd like to think that EA may roll out something new with a week left, but I'm not counting on it for sure. I'm about 200 away from the UFP so I should get that at least.

Progress seems super slow this go-round but I was surprised I was actually ahead of the game by about 400 apples.

I'm at 3758 so about 700 ahead for what they show I should have today. So I guess at this point I'm on track to get everything. Though this weekend I messed up and forgot to o back to the kids fighting mthster. When I did he reset and went back to the tower and I had to do it all over again.

And when did the adults sop giving event currency when they do tasks in the 4 skinned buildings? That was helping out quite a bit since the kids don't go to the campfire anymore. Granted they can fight stuff at the brown house but it spawns all the 4 types of nightmares instead of being focused on one type at a time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

OK, I don't get the M'nthter fighting at all. When I was assigning all four kids, he would still had one life left so I'd need another four-hour cycle. I swallowed hard and bought Saxophone Lisa for donuts, but then after the first fight, M'nthter still had one life left. But in the next battle, I took him out in one cycle. "Fine, maybe it just took one turn to kick in," I said, but then I started the fight last night, and this morning he had THREE lives left. This makes a big difference, because if he had been defeated at 7 a.m., I could have started another battle at 7 p.m., then started the 12-hour wait at 11 p.m. Now I have to start the wait at 11 a.m., start the next battle at 11 p.m., then start the wait at either 7 or 11 a.m., depending on how many shots it takes. I didn't spend donuts just so I can randomly flip between 16- and 20-hour fight cycles.

Today's House of Evil challenge will be tough to get skeletons when everything is random other than my cemetery spawning bunnies. And most of my neighbors have starspawn these days.

I saw the TSTO calendar, but wasn't sure whether to believe it. I guess+ I'm in OK shape mathematically because I was at 600/4230 on the last prize this morning with seven-plus days to go. Still not sure because of the randomness in this event.

At the beginning of act 3. So useless.

I'm also ahead in the calendar. I was thinking the same yesterday, that I was behind, and checked the EA forums.
But yeah, good luck getting the free 20 donuts this week. I'm at 2 skeletons right now. Although I haven't had time to visit my neighbors.
At least we have all week to complete each task.

I'm surprised that I'm ahead too.

I've added about 500 apples today, plus the 250 as the final-day-of-the-week daily bonus, so I'm feeling a little better about things.

20 of 30 skeletons for House of Evil.

Canis Firebrand 11-10-15 07:52 AM

I'm on the last prize now. About 80/4230 apples in I think. My total is 5122 apples at the moment.

I have 7 more skeletons to squish to complete day 1 of the evil house tasks.

Day 2 will be easy as it's just defeat mthster at the water temple. Hoping the the rest aren't too difficult. It's getting very hard to upgrade campfire now so hope they don't put that as one task.

I got my thirtieth skeleton literally minutes after today's daily challenge opened up.

Once again M'nthter had one life left and needs another cycle to defeat. The bright side is that it'll make today's challenge even easier since I'm just about there already.

Don't worry, no upgrading:

Wednesday 11/11 Squish Star Spawn x
Thursday 11/12 Make Youngsters Hunt Nightmares x15
Friday 11/13 Squish Zombies x30

Thanks.. though Friday is going to take a bit.

At least with Friday you're not getting more tasks stacked up.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I seem to have a lot of zombie-producing kids. It's the Skeleton kids I'm short on.

I'm a little frustrated, because they released a new level today but when I logged in I didn't get it. I know I'm at least a level ahead, because I got bonuts from the free 24 hours with the XP Collider.

I have 300,000 XP to get before my next level up, so I'm probably stuck slogging for a bit.

I detest the fact that the only land I can add is the one in Springfield Heights with their stupid currency. I'm running out of land to put things. I really don't know where I'll be able to put the Ned-dification center when I unlock it.

Gee, I sure am glad they released a new level in the middle of an event. And I'm especially glad that one of the key people needed for the new level is also one of the key people needed for the Halloween event!

davidh777 11-11-15 06:19 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, I'm putting that quest on hold till I finish the event.

I had a mild panic when I went to reassign the metal recyclers and saw Lisa available, thinking maybe I'd absentmindedly put her on recycling and the other M'nthter fighters on bulk four-hour tasks, but no, they had just freed up from hunting nightmares.

Up to 3227/4230 apples now so feeling good about the progress. Although I was just reading about the RFP at TSTO Addicts and realized I had stored it and never placed it. I usually store prizes first so I can look at them in my cart and see what the payout is.

Do you have whatever costumes you have actively in use, not just purchased. I haven't experimented with it, but might make a difference.

I read once that the amount of XP they set for the donuts isn't necessarily the same as what they'll set for the new level.

I just noticed that the 4 hour task for Ninja Homer gives you eggs instead of money.

davidh777 11-12-15 11:31 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I noticed the House of Evil says the event ends in 14 days, but the other tabs say four days. I assume it's four days and that's just a typo, unless the House of Evil lasts longer. That would be cool for the donuts, but they'd have to completely change the goals because all the other stuff would presumably be gone.

That occurred to me, but I definitely have Lisa in the saxophone outfit before fighting. After last night, M'nthter had three lives left instead of his usual one so who knows.

I have like 10 outfits for Homer but not that one.

Too bad too, because there are only three items really worth crafting and two of them need eggs.

I ended up getting the level update the next time I logged in. I'm not sure why it worked out that way, but it did.
