Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've been doing the overnight raid scheme for about a week now. I have 119,000 Elixir and 110,000 Gold stockpiled and am earning more than 20K Elixir and 9K Gold nightly. I don't expect to play every day, but with 26 full days left in the event I'd be on pace for 650K Elixir and 340K Gold. I'm thinking 500K Elixir is easily within reach, even with several days' break.

I sincerely hope EA creates some new hella expensive Castle accessories... like a Trojan Horse or a Ballista or a Battering Ram... I'm uncertain what I'm going to do with fifty-thousand castle wall segments. Lol.

I've been lax in playing the last few days due to having a new kid Monday night. Maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll get back into it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Hmmm.... I've got an idea. I stopped upgrading my castles at Level 19 because I saw no reason to continue to progress. Level 20 adds +1h to your town's defense, but why on earth would I want to make it harder for people to attack me? Level 21 adds a castle wall, but it takes > 10,000 Elixir to get from L-20 to L-21, and a castle wall costs only 100 Elixir outright to purchase.

But, walls for Bart and Lisa's castles can't be bought with Elixir. They're 2 Donuts each. So when we get to the final week of the event, if EA hasn't added anything new to purchase, perhaps I can spend down my Elixir by upgrading both of their castles to get walls for them? Need to do the math to see what the cost will be, since it's looking like I'm generating enough Elixir to buy 2 walls per day, though the Level-up costs will increase once I get past L-21. The one thing I know for certain is that I do NOT need to do that now... Elixir won't spoil until 10/7, and upgrading those castles now will only make my whole town so impregnable that nobody will want to attack me.

I'm still attacking you! Since I'm not doing the glitch, I'm not paying attention to how long things take. Your castles are rarely available, I guess because you're staying away for long stretches. :)

Just for the record, I got the first FP prize Thursday, five days after I complained about how long those would take. :)

Level 45 today. There is two premium items and a $10M item.
Edit: Also Artie and his Ziff corp sign for $550k, Patty or Selma had to trigger this one. You need Homer and Moe free to start the first Artie task

I'm currently $1M short after the recent land expansions costing $10M and the last $10M item. It's nice to have something to play for rather than having more money than I can spend as was the case for a year.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The last time there was an update I wasn't updated to the next level right away. I assumed I just hadn't been racking up as much XP due to cutting back on my playing for a bit. But since 44 came out I know I've leveled up an extra time.

Logged in this morning, waiting for things to kick off and I get nothing. Luckily I'm only about 30,000 from my next leveling up, but it still annoys me.

I read a post somewhere, spAnser or someone else digging into the files, saying that it doesn't guarantee you will automatically get the next level. You have to have the minimum amount of XP for the new level, which doesn't automatically equate to the amount to reach the extra donuts the first time.

Finally uter!

Are you the one that has a message that says "where is uter?" in his Springfield? :D

As soon as I saw Uter had been included in the game I thought of whoever had the message "Where is Uter?"

With the latest update my game has returned to quitting after I exit each neighbors town.

It's been a long time since I've watched the episode with Artie Ziff, but man this level has reminded me what a colossal douche the guy was. I wish he were the premium character and Uter the regular one.

Earned the second friends prize!
Spoiler:
Looks not all that useful, having only one task and needing another character, who then wouldn't be able to sing the Stonecutter song. He is cute, though.

I went camping last weekend and did have cell reception, but still decided to stay off the game for a day and a half to see if the glitch worked. But after I booted up, I tapped through and forgot to notice if I got a big elixir/gold bounty. :brickwl2: It also broke my daily streak, but the game offered to let me catch up by paying a donut. What, so I can get my parking lot "mystery gift" a couple days sooner? No, thanks.

I put that prize right back into storage.

Yeah, especially annoying is how he sits in the unassigned-task box unless you have him on the one task he can do. Next time I have Krusty free, I'll see if there's any added reward for that task, but I assume not.

Small update tied into the premiere. New building and costume for Krusty the Clown. Limited time, ends Sunday.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I upgraded my castles to level 20, and it's kind of cool that I can get walls for elixir now. 10K per is a little steep, but it's better than donuts. I think I'll skip the barbarian walls for 10K when I can just buy them for 100, though.

kuttaro has an awesome driver's training course!

I've been getting a lot of network failures lately. I assigned a bunch of characters, crashed, then came back later to assign the rest. By that time, the update had hit, but I had already assigned Krusty.

Sometimes this game has nothing to do. But lately, I have tons! Clash of Clans satire event, Otto, Data, Akira, Artie, Krusty, all at once. Love it!

A little over a week left in Clash of Clans - 10/7 is the final day.

I've been hoarding elixir, hoping that there might be a final update from EA to allow me to buy a few brand new big ticket items. I still want a battering ram or a trojan horse, dammit. :)

I've got ~495K elixir. If there end up being no new items, I've got enough to do the following:
- Upgrade Lisa's castle from Level 19 to Level 26 (Cost = 87.4K). This will get me 6 wall segments, allowing me to expand by making it two segments wider and one deeper.
- Upgrade Bart's castle similarly (E87.4K), but his will be one wider and two deeper.
- Spend the remaining ~320K on 184 Walls, 19 Hay Carts, 25 Tents, 13 Stocks, 49 Towers, 73 Banners, 31 Gates, 12 Windmills, 6 Outhouses and 12 Guillotines. There may be an entire corner of my Springfield that gets converted to Medieval Land Fun-Time World. Maybe not quite enough to build King's Landing or Winterfell, but I might be able to take a shot at The Wall.

Aaaaand just like that, I have nothing to do. Anybody else think Level 45 was extremely short compared to other levels? I kept thinking, is this it? Where's the next part of the quest? Do I have someone occupied who triggers it? Huh. Nope.

bippitty 10-02-14 04:55 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I think they could do a better job of closing out some of these quests. This is one that I checked online to see if that was the end of it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I wish they could have an option that once you complete an event you could somehow turn it off or hide it. Kind of like opting out. It's super annoying clearing my town of invaders and also when I visit friend's towns when it scrolls to the castle when I don't want it to.
