Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I guess it's pointless now but I asked earlier about the gremlians and if I should be squishing them. Someone said I should as should everyone because it's extra points or whatever they are sqirting out.
Now your saying to leave them alone?

Which is it and why?

kstublen 11-09-14 11:22 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If you don't tap them, the person that dropped them in your town gets more of whatever the protein strands. If you tap them, you get some protein strands and then person that dropped them also gets protein strands, but less than they would have if you had left them untapped.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, whotony, you're currently over 15K strands so I'd guess you've done a good job of tapping them. :) Now you can keep tapping to earn more treat bags or leave them alone to let your neighbors maximize their strands. Of course you have no idea who's leaving them without tapping them.

Got UBO tonight....finally. Not going to get enough chocolate bars to make the helicopter so the kids will head to the bounce house.

Anyone purchase the rabbit? It does some weird stuff with the characters in the corner.

kstublen 11-09-14 10:33 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I dunno how many chocolate bars you have left, but you might want to keep trying for it if you're interested in getting it. You could always luck out with the bags considering you'll still be getting them from the kids and possibly aliens.

I haven't the rabbit do anything other than hop around.

When it's free for a task, it's avatar in the upper left corner doesn't show a rabbit, but instead it cycles through images of all the other characters. It has a task called "Mutate" that's presumably related, but it's locked until the 10th.

I've never bought any of the animals and I've stored most of the ones I've won. Only cool ones are Stampy and the Yeti.

kstublen 11-09-14 11:33 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

This one has a task called multiply which it transforms into an egg (kind of like the one seen in the Gremlins movie) and then your town slowly becomes populated with multiple mutant rabbits.

And there is another task called mutate which presumably will be what we saw the rabbits do in tonight's episode of The Simpsons.

Picked up enough fences to get the Rigellian Queen and have some leftover for the Donut Torture Device, should I get enough chocolate bars (I'm at 409 of 500, though I'm also down to only 37 donuts to purchase it, if I want).

You could do the Donut makeup to get the chopper if you fall short on currency.

Speaking of which, I think it's really clever for them to make all the junk we complained about in past events ("Great, another easter fence!") as currency were trying to get asap! New players must be scratching their heads on that one.

I'm nowhere near the level someone like cmnplanet is, but one of my secrets is I set my phone alarm for 4- and 8-hour intervals and rarely have to miss them. Rigellians max out at 4 hours and the kids wrap up in 8, so I'm sitting pretty at 13,000+ long protein strings for UBO, plus I've earned enough XP through this event to "level up" again for another 3 free donuts.

Do people think there's going to be a new level or two before the year is out or will it be mini events like Thanksgiving and episode tie-in events leading up to Christmas. They have more diverse characters now, like Akira and Kuniko, wonder if they'd do an interfaith sort of event at Christmas, including Krusty and Hannakkuh. Maybe depends on whether George Meyer is involved in the writing for the game; I read a lot of the religious elements of the show come from him.

Canis Firebrand 11-10-14 09:35 AM

Ok. With a day left. I'm not sure what I should craft based on what supplies I have. I have enough to make The Grand Pumpkin. I'm 28 gates away from the Rigellian Queen. Though that takes away from gates needed for the donut torture device and/or the hover copter. I have enough supplies to make walls and/or human test subjects. I have enough to make a spooky house, but I already did one. Not sure why you'd need more than one.

I have the following supplies:

372 gate
696 eggs
502 candy corn
751 gummy bears
367 chocolate bars
437 pumpkins

I don't see the power plant or mutant rabbits that were mentioned earlier. I'm further along in the quest with groening. It's When Worlds Collide pt 10.

story 11-10-14 09:42 AM

At this point, I think it's a matter of taste. I personally have decided to prioritize the Donut Torture Device over the Grand Pumpkin (and especially the copter) because I think it's the funniest of the three.

Is there an online resource to say how much these items cost at different donut levels depending on how your other currency stands?

The Grand Pumpkin looks like it's used to just get the pumpkin house? I have that already from last year. So if that's all it's really good for, I can skip it.

danfindlay 11-10-14 10:08 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The grand Pumpkin stands up stretches out and growls when you tap him so overall he is a pretty good decoration. Also has a Millhouse task.

Raul3 11-10-14 11:24 AM

I should be able to get the last prize no problem.

Not sure what to do with my other rewards. Right now I have ready to claim:

- pumpkin house
- tribal hut
- spooky house
- gold bag
- wall
- human test subject
- shrub

Of course some won't be available after I claim some of them.

Level 46, all the land, not space, etc.

Are walls my best option?

story 11-10-14 11:40 AM

Unless something else trips your trigger, probably walls, yeah. I don't necessarily care for their style so I'll likely hide them somewhere but the multiplier is nice.

First, check you inventory. You can get the human test subject and shrub from bags, so you might have them without even knowing it. But if you don't, I wouldn't bother -- they're just decorations.

I think the spooky house and the Rigellian hut are the best of those prizes, and they don't use any of the same pieces, so you can get both of them.

Are you maxed out on protein strands? If you are, the bags should start giving you free walls in their place.

Raul3 11-10-14 04:29 PM

Forgot to mention, I already have all of those decorations. So anything I get would be duplicates.

So I went with the walls, I got 25 walls or so.

I still have 705 gummy bears...

Careful, Raul. We've seen what happens when a man goes mad for gummies...

Possibilities generated with this, which I wrote.

I'm trying to decide between the following options:

1.) Donut Torture Device and Rigellian Queen
2.) Rigellian Queen, Grand Pumpkin, Spooky House and 2 Rigellian Huts

Can you put the Donut Torture Device into inventory when it's in use? I think I'd like to have a long, outdoor task for Homer that I can end as necessary.

story 11-11-14 07:26 AM

Nabbed the UBO last night, funny dialogue. Looking for 56 more chocolate bars to make the Donut Torture Device free, otherwise I think I'll spend just a few donuts (currently under 30). Gonna be close. Buying walls, too.

What happens when I get my first 1000 long protein strings beyond the 14900 I needed for UBO?

majorjoe23 11-11-14 08:17 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I only need 500 more strands for UBO, but I'm not going to be able to tap again until about 7 tonight.

I'm also within a reasonable number of donuts of getting the donut torture machine. After tonight's bag harvest I'll pick it up.

kstublen 11-11-14 09:19 AM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

What's your name in-game? Since you're so close I can try to drop extra grem-aliens in your town for you to tap if you think that'd help?

Silver treat bag.

Canis Firebrand 11-11-14 09:39 AM

I picked up the Rigellian queen and a hut. I'm about 250 from the silver or gold bag before alien burns. I probably won't get it before end of event. I wonder how many donuts it will be once I get the bag before it. I think i have 90 donuts. Knowing my luck though it'll be a few hundred donuts.
