Agree that all this talk, rumors, specs, etc. are bullshit.
But, if Microsoft updated its hardware specs 3 months before release it means that they have been receiving feedback from developers requesting that. |

Right. Increasing clock speeds rarely comes for free. It likely affected their yields, but probably not a substantial amount.
Isn't that the only thing they've updated with regards to hardware specs? There really isn't much else you can change with hardware that's being released in only a few months. Obviously policy wise they've changed quite a bit. |

What they're probably trying to convey with that message (and again failing miserably at doing so) is "Don't worry, anything you buy will always be able to be redownloaded in case you need to make space on your local drive." You know, exactly how it is now.
