But seriously though, this kind of statement is baiting and you know it. Despite what your understanding of the hardware is, most developers have their games running at 1080p on both systems. Sony's box isn't this magical all 1080p/60fps all the time juggernaut you think it is. Games run on 30 on both. It's a freaking hardware launch.

The two machines aren't 1080p/60fps floodgates that you just have to toggle a couple of switches to get working properly. There's so much more to game development than pixel counts.

It really is, and it just derails things instead of prompting discussion.

Only if you assign intent that isn't there.

I didn't say anything like this. Both platforms, like all hardware, have their limitations, and neither is exactly bleeding edge.

Like I said, I'm obviously not the right person to have this discussion. Scurrying away. Thanks for the gifs. :)

But so far we haven't seen any game that has better numbers in the X1 than the PS3. But again, if COD is 1080p/60 and runs like shit, the X1 version at 720p/60 without issues will the best option.

So we have to accept that. So far those numbers are better in the PS4 side.

Right, but we were attempting to talk about why Dead Rising 3 was having some frame rate issues. Adam proposed a legit theory, and then look what happened.

Don't blame the developers, it's the box!
Hey, that's not fair, your box isn't perfect either!
Didn't say it was! Didn't say yours was faulty either! Later bitches!

I don't think anyone has denied that was the case though. We know that the PS4 is more powerful then the Xbox One, the discussion is really just about how much it matters and which people care about it. And the possibility that neither console is going to hit the 1080P/60FPS numbers that some people seem to treat like the most important thing ever.

It isn't surprising to see who swoops in when 720P comes up.

I guess I still don't understand why people who care so much about resolution aren't just gaming on a PC and letting that be that?

The PS3 launched at a stupid high price and is known to be more difficult to program for. And people love the thing. And it's neck and neck in sales with the 360. But now suddenly it's important to choose a side because one box is clearly broken while the other dispenses hugs.

Based on this discussion (yet again), I think it would be smart for members to post their thoughts/concerns/deepest secrets in the Feedback thread that's specifically about some of the things we're talking about here:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/forum-feedb...l#post11899875

I don't think anything drastic is required, but maybe some of the lurkers haven't seen the Feedback thread and have something more important to add.
