I do not care about gamerscore at all, but I have quite a few friends who care a lot about it. It was one of the smartest inovations this generation.

Yeah, the $100 isn't a big deal at all. It's actually the same or less than the PS3 launching at $500 and $600 back in the day. Plus, you get a Kinect, so it's actually not a bad price. Like you said, the controller and Xbox culture/Live more than make up for it.

For what it's worth, I would also place lack of indie publishing well behind the following on Xbox's list of problems:

- Less powerful than PS4
- Forced camera
- Fewer proven first party studios
- Two months of Don Mattrick speaking in public

Man, you really need to stay in the PS4 circlejerk forum.

A little more info on the Cloud from the Titanfall devs:

Dedicated servers for EVERY game is awesome enough, and the other random crap it can do sounds promising.

If you want a Kinect, it's not a bad price. If you absolutely don't want an always-on camera sitting on top of your TV (or if you have a home theater set-up where that's not feasible), it's a deal-breaker.

If your internet isn't always on, and the console isn't always powered on, then the Kinect isn't always on.

I'm sorry, dedicated servers do not count. You know what they used to call those before the Xbox One? dedicated servers. New terms don't make them new or exciting, but it is nice that we'll have dedicated servers.

It's the other stuff that they really have no example of, an AI algorithm on the Forza 5 server to what? Actively race you or create a ghost or what?

Actually it is always on, so it can listen for your "Xbox, on!" command. Honestly that part doesn't really bother me too much (though some are far more hung up on security than I am), but I don't want the stupid Kinect in my theater room and will pass on the One because of it. It's a stupid policy that they've NEVER explained beyond stating that it's required to operate the One.

I have a Kinect. I don't want/need another one.

And that $500/$600 price for PS3 was justified by Blu-ray alone and it was STILL crazy expensive for a console and shot them in the foot.

Kinect does not equal Blu-ray in the SLIGHTEST.

Xbox culture is being listed a plus? I guess, if you like being called "faggot" by a 12-year-old.

I was in Gamestop today browsing with my son (I know, I know...but he loves to go in there) and the worker there was telling people, myself included, that the X1 does not require Kinect and you do not have to even plug it in. When I questioned him on that he stated that as Gamestop employees, they have had lots of training and corporate calls and they know more about the systems than the general public does. He then went on a tirade stating how the consumers really fucked up the X1 by complaining about the always connected/used games issue. He said that every game would have been tradeable by just signing over the license to another person when you are done with it. He made it seem like this could be done as much as you wanted to.

He then basically bashed the shit out of the PS4 stating it was a sub-par system to the X1 and so on.

I just thought the whole exchange was very interesting and it makes me wonder what all the Gamestop employees are telling the general public who shop there.

Haha, sounds about right for a GS employee. Aside from being a general idiot from the first few points he made, the consumers fucking up and the trading in points are fairly accurate. You could have traded the games around through a retailer just as we do now. Not that it matters now, but still he wasn't a total moron, just mostly ;)

Are we still bandying about the "consumers fucked the brilliant Xbox One up" line? Oh MS, so sly. You get to fuck consumers in the ass and then tell them they're idiots for not accepting it, or at least requesting some lube.

That's the reason why I avoid most of the Gamestops period. It's people like that that give them a bad name. There is only one I go to despite others close by and it's because the guy behind the counter is older than most I see at other branches. He carries on a sensible conversation and doesn't try to make himself into something he is not. Give all consoles a fair shake when you bring one up...he is a rarity.

Funny, because I had a Gamestop employee go off on a tirade to me about Microsoft and the Xbox One, how terrible the company is, how everyone should just preorder the PS4. And this was as I traded in a stack of Xbox 360 games.

Gamestop employees... they're just like us!

Just like the game sharing(and everything about the x1), this wasn't completely explained either. You have no idea what they had in store for trade ins.

Microsoft's goal is to be ubiquitous. Sell to people who've never had Xbox. Probably never even considered Xbox.

How many casual gamers would have bought the Wii at $500? How many skipped out on the Wii U due to the higher price?

Maybe you could try rebutting whichever of the 4 points it is you disagree with rather than acting like a dismissive jerk.

- Is the Xbox not $100 more, and is that not a problem?
- Can you make a case for the Xbox having better hardware?
- Do you really think forced Kinect is a great feature?
- Are you seriously prepared to defend Don Mattrick?

I'm sure it's been a hard couple of months to defend and fawn over every little thing MS does, but get some perspective man.
