Re: Bungie - Destiny
I will say that I finally played with a friend in one of the Crucible matches as opposed to playing with strangers and it was a lot of fun. He's only a level 19 and I'm a 24. We got our asses kicked.

So I shouldn't even think of going into the Crucible until at least 20+? Because I have some bounties that I should drop if so...

With that said, I've seen some low leveled palyers with badass weaponry take out highly leveled ones.

I love this game, but I absolutely HATE the PVP. It's complete garbage. I've had 2 exotic bounties and both of them have had some sort of requirement involving playing the crucible. I have a feeling they're all like that. If it wasn't for the bounties, I'd be perfectly happy if I never played it again.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
PVP was really fun for the first couple of weeks, in my opinion anyway. But like all competitive multiplayer games, the diehard players have already mastered the maps, along with where to camp (usually near the special ammo), where the best sniper spots are, which weapons to use in which areas, etc.

Shattered Memory Fragment, which gets you the Pocket Inifinty Fusion Rifle.
A Voice In The Wilderness, which gets you the Super Good Advice Machine Gun.
I have the Super Good Advice, and the bounty was the easiest of all 4 I've done.
A Dubious Task, for the Invective Shotgun is probably the toughest PvP wise. You have to get the 25 K/D spread, so it's pretty unforgiving. But Assists count as kills, so that helps.
A Light In The Dark which gets you the Thorn Hand Cannon, is tough, but not as bad if you're a Warlock. You have to get kills using Void powers, like the Warlock's grenades and super move, and weapons with Void damage. I got with my Warlock, and using a Void Fusion Rifle. You do get penalized for getting killed, but it's not as steep of a penalty for dying in the previous bounty.
The easiest for PvP was Toland's Legacy for the Bad Juju Pulse Rifle. The number sounds large, as you have to get 10,000 points, but there's no penalties for dying, and you get points for kills and assists, with extra points for killing Warlocks.
I've completed all of these except the one for the Thorn, as the hardest thing in this game is finding people to play with when there's no matchmaking involved. Games shouldn't penalize you for not having friends.

I must be an idiot. How do you progress past level 20?
I have been sitting on 20 for awhile. Certain armor you have to equip? I have played at level 20 for several days and not seen any "light" armor, whatever that is. Where do you get this armor?

I played the Crucible in a party for the first time Sunday and we went 7-0 in Clash. I still did pretty shitty going 64-60 overall but that is better than I had been doing.

Managed to level up to 25 and got a legendary Rocket Launcher: Unfriendly Giant, I think is what it was called. Not a bad haul considering I got some legendary body armor earlier today. Now I have Legendary cloak, armor, and rocket launcher. I did not do anything out of the ordinary - just some bounties in the Clash and Skirmish department. That shit seem to magically appear.
I'll see if get to play any of it in the morning before Game Stop opens since I will be on Destiny hiatus while I devour Shadow of Mordor.

There are two bounties that don't require PvP:
Shattered Memory Fragment, which gets you the Pocket Inifinty Fusion Rifle.
A Voice In The Wilderness, which gets you the Super Good Advice Machine Gun.

Currently working on Thorn. It's a pain in the ass. I don't have any void weapons, but I am a warlock so I guess that helps a little. But it seems I only get to use my super maybe twice per round. I'm only up to 70 out of 500 points so far. Ugh. If I had a void heavy machine gun, this would be a cakewalk. I have "The Swarm" which is legendary, but unfortunately only does Arc Damage. I am a beast with that thing in PvP. I get a ton of kills, but they don't count cuz it's not a void weapon, so it just pisses me off even more. I had one round where I went 24-5 and it netted me a whopping 10 points because they weren't the right "type" of kills. Yay.
Don't get me started on the grenades. I use the axion bolt ones which track enemies, and my exotic chest armor has a perk that actually sends an extra bolt. So I actually have 3 fucking grenades tracking people. Do you think I would get any kills with them? Nope. Works awesome in the rest of them game though.
Nothing about PVP feels like it works correctly. It's frustrating as hell. I'm coming from Battlefield 4, which has been shit on since its release for its netcode issues and whatever else, but Ive had more bullshit deaths in 2 weeks with this game than I have in almost a year of BF4. I know they're completely different games, but the PvP in this game just feels broken. I'm level 28 and there are still players that just seem invincible. I hit one guy with a grenade, then I shot him with a few rounds of my auto rifle, and then I meleed him... and he turned around and one shot killed me with his shotgun. I was ready to smash my controller.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
As of tonight I've finished all the achievements except for the 2 nearly-impossible Raid ones. This game has been an addictive yet disappointing experience, but I'm moving on to Shadow of Mordor tomorrow, followed by Alien: Isolation the week after that, followed by The Evil Within the week after that, and so on for the next couple of months. I imagine it'll be a long time before I return to this one.

So after 3 hours of just running and gunning around Earth I got my first and only Legendary Engram.....take it back to the tower and it decodes into strange currency. Really? Farming is annoying enough, but when you do it and it still doesn't pay off

Could be worse. I did the level 20 Vanguard strike 3 times in a row yesterday and got the same shitty level 16 auto rifle as a reward each time.

Realize that the some of the "low leveled" players are ones that might be using their 2nd or 3rd characters so they are quite possibly even more experienced than many of those 20+ level characters.

Yep...got another Legendary Engram yesterday and like the last 5 of 6 it turned into a Blue...a Level 16. That's 6 of 7 Legendary Engrams in the last week that's turned into Blue or something else. Played with someone last night that said the patch/update is suppose to hit today...man I hope so.

Best place to farm Hive Majors: Downstairs in that dark shed when you first get into Patrol on Cosmodrome.
Best for Fallen: The Venus spaceship/kell mission.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
My "fun" night with this bullshit game:
I think the only thing I actually accomplished last night was turning a blue engram into a strange coin, one of at least five different currencies in the game. Seriously. Five currencies.
The core game is fun enough to play, but every underlying system is laughable.
- Got two legendary engrams. Both turned out to be blue...and as an additional kick in the nuts, they were blue shit I already had. WTF?
- Got the queen's bounty to kill three walkers and didn't get credit for the first two because I wasn't standing close enough. WTF?
- Got a choice of exotic weapon bounties and picked the revolver one. Now I have to play PVP to get it? WTF? Didn't somebody on here tell me that nothing is locked behind PVP?

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Like Chess I was just doing Bounties, Strike and random missions when I got mine. I tried to do a search on just what are the chances of getting a Legendary to drop and then also get a Legendary out of it...couldn't find a thing. I'm just wonder if Bungie does fix the Engram decoding part are they going to tinker with the drop rate somehow?
