Would have been nice to preview a new map in Iron Banner, too.
Bungie is stuck in a place where they are not charging a monthly MMO fee, but we're also not getting the amount of content we would normally expect. The $15/DLC works out to $5 a month which is fair, but I would expect that to come with a bit... more.
(Still can't stop playing the game of course)

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I hooked up with a raid group last night and made it to the final room when one of our guys had connections issues. Frustrating.
But the good news, is that I have a late-raid save, so if anybody is in the same boat with a game save part way through, I can bring a quality sun-bro to the fight.

Yea...that Raid thing was a bit intense for me at least. I felt like a third wheel and a little lost. The one thing I could do was shoot anything with a Red Eye. I would like to continue as well and got a pair of Gauntlets for my Titan which that he needed

Yeah, I got some boots for my Warlock, which in the short term drop her down to 27, but when I get them leveled, it should boost her past where she was.
Ideally, I'll find a way to wrap up my vault run with her and also get my Titan raid-ready before the end of the weekend and do a run with him. There's really a lot of stuff I want out of there, particularly a couple of specific guns.
The good news is that I'm ready for Xur this week...just shy of 40 coins, I think.

Forgot to say thanks to Decker for the late invite. I was just about to go to bed, but those games were amusing as hell.

I'd spent the evening "working" on my "progress" in the game, so it was nice to just goof around for a bit.

Thanks to you! It was comical to take on a Strike we were clearly not close to ready for!
Hope we didn't keep you up too late.
BTW : That's my friend I recruited to the Dark Side for Destiny from our Xbox/360 ways.

No worries. Totally worth it.
Your friend went all Leroy Jenkins in a couple of spots, and it was funny as hell! My favorites were him driving circles around that tank (and surviving MUCH longer than he should have), him trying to finish the big shielded boss off with his super and failing hilariously, and the time I spotted him flying across the last boss room only to get shot out of the air and ragdolled into the ceiling.
FWIW, there are spots where you can cheese both of those bosses, but I really thought that your first time would be more fun in a straight up fight, so I just played support and tried to keep you both alive.

Am I the only one that buys a ton of green weapon engrams from the Cryptarch to level him up faster? It's also a quick way to stock up on weapon parts. I don't ever let my glimmer get below 10K but when I get up to 14 or 15K I'll go buy 10 or so from him. It's not like I'm spending the stuff on anything else most of the time.

can't remember the last time I was short on weapons parts or ascendant material as I am constantly breaking down green and blue drops
am also always constantly at max (25k) glimmer
usually just pick up ammo packs from the gunsmith to get the glimmer count down

I bought engrams a few times from the Cryptarch before realizing it was a waste of time and money. Buy ammo synthesis instead, especially heavy ammo synthesis. As much as you can hold.

I wouldn't advise going that nuts .... there shouldn't be a time you would need so much that you couldn't just get more next trip back to the Tower which should be pretty frequently in this game
plus the ammo packs have a cool down time so it isn't like you can blow through them

So I leveled up Mr. Cock Tease today, headed over to the post office, and got two legendary engrams. The first turned into a ascendant shard, and the second turned into an exotic hand cannon! After all the hours I've put in, I was in complete disbelief.
The Hawkmoon is just beastly. It's got 13 rounds and once upgraded, 3 random bullets in each clip do massive bonus damage.

I've never seen a game received quite like this one - widely criticized here and elsewhere for numerous perceived faults and problems, yet played almost incessantly since.

I know exactly what you're saying. To me, the underlying play mechanics are solid. It's just I thought the game would be so much more. Don't ask me to explain how, but I just did. It's still fun though.

There is a video up of two...yes two completing The Vault of Glass in 1hr 10 minutes. Both Level 30 and the video from one player has him as a Hunter and almost the entire way he uses a hand cannon and rocket launcher (Exotic). Not sure what the other player was using but it's impressive.
