But yeah, in either case this game will be unplayable.

Also, for those of us not fortunate enough to get all the limited edition swag, some kind people have gone through the books and images and found a bunch of codes that will at least let us mere mortals share in some of it:

All these codes are re-usable and are emblems and shaders.

redeem codes here: http://www.bungie.net/en/User/coderedemption

Easy way to use codes if you don't want to manually type them in.
Spoiler:
from http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGa.../all_25_codes/

Thanks to /u/Jumpaax for bringing this to my attention. /u/skoging made a small script that you can enter into Chrome that will automatically enter all of the codes in for you. This works even if you've already entered some.

To use the script, simply do the following.

Head over to http://www.bungie.net/en/User/coderedemption and sign into your desired account.

Press CTRL + Shift + J, doing so should bring up a box that presents a bit of coding and whatnot.

Paste the following code in its entirety into the area below all of the text.

var codes=["YKA-RJG-MH9", "3DA-P4X-F6A", "MVD-4N3-NKH", "TCN-HCD-TGY", "HDX-ALM-V4K", "473-MXR-3X9", "JMR-LFN-4A3", "HC3-H44-DKC", "69P-KRM-JJA", "69P-VCH-337", "69R-CKD-X7L", "69R-DDD-FCP", "69R-F99-AXG", "69R-VL7-J6A", "69X-DJN-74V", "6A7-7NP-3X7", "6A9-DTG-YGN", "7F9-767-F74", "FJ9-LAM-67F", "JD7-4CM-HJG", "JDT-NLC-JKM", "JNX-DMH-XLA", "7CP-94V-LFP", "7MM-VPD-MHP", "RXC-9XJ-4MH"];

var codeField = document.getElementById("text_code");

var i = 0;

var delay = 2500;

function enterCodeLoop () { setTimeout(function () { codeField.value = codes[i]; $(".btn_submitCode")[0].click(); i++; if (i < codes.length) { enterCodeLoop(); } }, delay) }

enterCodeLoop();

If done correctly, you should see all of the codes being redeemed simultaneously.

For anyone using a Mac, go to the toolbar, click on View, then Developer, and finally JavaScript Console. Then just enter the script! I just did it and it worked like a charm! Thanks everyone! -/u/stc573

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Yeah, that Chrome technique isn't working for me at all. Guess I'd already redeemed all those codes except the seven new Emblems/Shaders.

What is a Grimoire Card and do I want to unlock it now for my collection?

Thanks for codes and script! Very easy, although I'm not sure what any of this stuff does.

Wow, that javacode thing is pretty cool. Like the others I must have redeemed most of them previously, but a few still worked. Thanks match!

Emblems are like your monkey friend over there. Avatars for the game. Shaders change the colors of your armor and weapons.

As for Grimore Cards, they're like collectible trading cards, not really sure if they have a value.

As long as the store has a midnight opening, then yes.

I went up yesterday to verify that my store was going to be open at midnight and that my 3 pre-orders had not been cancelled without notifying me.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

FWIW...I've got the countdown clock on my pre-load digital version and the way I'm reading it the game gets unlocked at 2:00am Central my time. At the 5:10 mark it said 1 day, 8:50 left.

My question is if everyone is getting the game at Midnight...wherever...they're not going to be able to play until the Bungie Servers kick on right? That might mean1, 2 and 3 am?

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Didn't they say that the servers would be on when it is 12AM "somewhere in the world" and that when you play is up to stores, etc ?

Re: Bungie - Destiny

What's the rush to get this thing at midnight or even day one? You know the servers are going to crash or at least take extremely long to join a game, especially on PS Network. I don't mind a waiting a few days for my pre-order to show up at my house. Plus, I'll be on Xbox Live where none of the cool kids will be playing (thanks to no advertising) and it will run like a freshly oiled machine.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Still conflicted on whether or not to pick it up now for the PS4 or wait for the PC release next year. If it was 1080p60 on PS4 it'd be a no brainer, but since it isn't, I just can't decide.

Yep...which is again I'm asking why the big Midnight Deal all over the country? I can see folks on the West Coast but here Central and Eastern? I just wonder if all the Best Buys and gamestops are going to let everyone know after they get their game...
"Oh...by the way...you won't be able to play the game for at least 2-3hrs till Bungie's Servers go live."

Last year I went to a midnight opening at BB for WWE 2K14 (well, the opening was for COD: Ghosts I think, but I got WWE), and they were taking in-store pickups for pre-orders. They even had a separate line for it, though at the BB I went to, only 3 people actually showed up to the opening.

I'm ready though. Picked up a couple of $50 PSN cards for just over $83, not too shabby. Now to pre-order.
