You can get 9 by completing the weekly heroic strike on the level 28 difficulty.

I bought the engram with my Titan, and got a different helmet than the one he's selling. Mine has an LED screen on the face of it. My Titan is now at Level 27 to go with my 28 Warlock. My Hunter is up to Level 12.

I have 14 coins, so I could buy a piece of armor, but all my characters already have an exotic (Helmets for the Warlock and Titan, chest armor for the Hunter when she gets to 20). I think I'll hold onto them and wait to see what Xur offers next week.

Well that's just great...I might just skip spending the coins this week. I wish they would allow him to change some stuff around like the bounties...something like every 10-12 hrs. I might take a shot at the helmet but I'm content with the two Queen Legendary for the Titan and Warlock for now.

i bought an exotic engram with my motes of light. got an exotic helmet that's sick and i can use it!

Got the Queen's emblem and shader. I really wanted the cloak but I'll never achieve rank 2 before the event is over. Took a while to do level 1 and level 2 requires double the points. Guess I will wait until the next time she comes around.


I have been stuck at level 22 for a while. I think I have 7 strange currency and 8 motes of light so I've got a while before I can buy anything and the few blue engrams I get never translate to anything good.

Legendary engrams? Ha, you can pretend its random but I think they actively avoid me.

All the talk of stuff people are getting and very little talk of actually having fun getting said stuff adds credence to that article posted on here a page or two back.

I only have 12 strange coins.

so after being killed many times, I finally completed the daily heroic strike on the moon (alone ). I am positive it told me one of the rewards was a legendary engram which is the only reason i did the strike.....I finally finish it and it gives me a blue engram that decodes into garbage. WTF? This game is amazingly frustrating.

I really want to buy the exotic helmet that uxr is selling however I only have 11 strange coins. Is there any way to get 2 more quickly before he disappears?

Also, what's up with the weekly heroic strike.? Seems like its different for all players. Some guy I read got the earth one this week and did it himself, gaining 3 coins, I have the mars one. No way I could do that one myself.

I did the Heroic strike today on the moon. I tried doing the weekly on on Mars but that dude with the mini gun takes forever with one person. I had to bounce.

The weekly heroic is the same for everyone - Mars this week. You can do it on the lowest difficulty (level 24, I think) and get 3 coins. The highest difficulty, level 28, gives you 9 coins.

I get coins from decrypting blue engrams pretty regularly. You can also sometimes get them (randomly, of course) as a reward for doing higher-level missions like the daily heroic and the Vanguard: Tiger strike playlist. You also get a reward in the mail for completing your first public event each day, which can be either ascendant materials, strange coins, or motes of light. Keep in mind that you can do all of these activities with each character and then pool the rewards. I had 37 Strange Coins going into this weekend.

i still have stupid rare boots, gauntlets and chest for my warlock. i got an engram that gave me legendary boots.....for a hunter. i swear, this game is such a cock tease.
