This thread is for general Destiny news. I put my Xur Report here, and this is where we talk about stuff like the weekly update and all that.

The other thread is more to set up actually playing, getting games together and whatnot. But we don't do a great job of keeping the two threads separate.

But basically: if you want Destiny news, come here.

It's very small. I think I went from 50.98 gigs for Destiny pre-patch, to 51.01 post patch.

It takes far longer to check the file (which is what you're going through right now), than to download the little bit you need.

I had to delete a shitload of stuff to download. I was 33 gigs free, not enough. 37. not enough. 41 not enough. 51 gigs free, NOT ENOUGH!!!

Finally I went ruthless and freed up 89 gigs and the patch finally downloaded. I really hate this patch process.

I only have 15GB free currently and it is downloading fine for me (well as fine as I can download that is)

Maybe you need less if you have the disc? It wouldn't seem to be different since you're just installing from the disc. But maybe those of us who have it digitally are stuck with it having to check everything.

I think it's because I was confused...

Is the $30 pre-order download the best way to go? Is there another, better option? With this download, will I still need to put in the disc? Will the pre-order download overnight tonight so I can play tomorrow night?

Mine went super quick as well, and didn't need much space. I am also on the disc.

You should have downloaded it already, Destiny updates everyone, regardless of what you buy. You're buying an unlock code.

So if you can play the game right now, you already have the downbloads.

I have not played this game. Is it worth picking up? It got a lot of mixed reviews on release, but a couple of years on i was wondering if opinions had changed.

Well...I'm glad I put some Rare engrams back....so far out of the Postmaster and some in my stash....all have been decoded at 305 and above. I have not done any Legendary or Exotic yet.

I have 200 Legendary Marks to spend and went over to the Vanguard Armory....everything is 350 and above. About to check the Factions......

I'm curious to hear some feedback today. I didn't play much of The Taken King, but wouldn't mind hopping back in with Rise of Iron if the added content is good enough. Taking off the last 8 months or so really helped out, even though I'm sure I would be lost as fuck by now.

Well I'm still on my Titan but about to wrap up.....

I've gone from 305 to 313.....
I opened an Exotic Chest and got the Twilight Garrison (313)
(3) New guns after opening up Legendary....
An Answering Chord Suros Auto - 312
Panta Rhei Fusion - 312
The Smolder Rocket - 315
...and a no brainer for me was buying a Ghost that's at 350

...now on to the Warlock and Hunter with many more engrams to open and dispose of...

Oh cool, another DLC that's half the price of the full game, yet with about a quarter of the content.

And they're obviously not using the extra cash to beef up their servers for the initial hit of extra players either.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to jump back into this.

FWIW.....

I made a mistake when decoding all my engrams at once with the Titan.....

With the Warlock, I went and grabbed the Ghost at 350 and encoded 2-3 Rares. I then infused a few items and bumped up my Light Level. Then encoded a few more and those were higher than the previous Rares. Infused them and once again decoded and got even higher Rares. So I'm sure you know but decode the Rares, infuse and save the Legendary and exotics for last...should get high light numbers.


...and so far my Warlock has gone from 303 to 313 and still decoding engrams....


Update.....Warlock is now at 325 and still climbing....

Update Again...final Warlock at 334.....

Really hope that new Vanguard pulse rifle performs as good as it looks

So just hit level 19 and noticed today I could do another subclass but while ignoring the upgrades aren't there, the stats are way lower. Whats the perk of doing a different subclass?

Got all my characters between 333 and 339......and we finished the storyline with one.....good stuff and they did a heck of a job on the maps and area.....it's huge and well defined

Was able to get my Titan from 301 to 325 in under 2 hours!

Now I just need some exotic shards - where are you Xur!

If anyone is wondering how to get the Gjallarhorn...

Doesn't seem as powerful as I remember, but it's still an absolute blast using that thing again.

I wasn't particularly excited for ROI, but had fun playing through story yesterday. Definitely challenging, so was glad to have help. I think part of it is I need to shake off the rust.

Managed to get from 315 to 330 light over a few hours. Make sure you stick up on upgrade materials. I also had enough to buy a 350 item from my faction so that helped.
