I can't decide if I should get back into playing this game... I have access to the expansion since my son bought it. I loaded it up on launch day but all 3 of my characters have full backpacks and I was too lazy to clean them up. I am assuming every non exotic is now garbage right? Or are there certain weapons I should be keeping to slowly level up?

Yes and no....might be "Garbage" in a sense but you'll need the parts from breaking them down later on when getting better gear and doing some infusing especially if you're playing all three characters. And you'll need plenty of the Relic Iron, Wormspore and such as well. You can sell the Spinmetal to help level up your faction.

I just came back and glad I didn't unload all my old Exotics & Legendary a long time ago because I needed the Exotic shards and got other materials from the Legendary. Maybe more can chime in but it seems with RoI out now, leveling up to a point where you feel like you can go thru in certain areas is a lot easier.

Well crap, I didn't know that I missed out on a year 2 moment of triumph. I had most of the things completed already.

I see that they still don't want to raise the glimmer limit above 25k. bah

He hasn't sold Exotic Shards since Year 1.

The alternate method is to go to0 your kiosk and buy a Year 2 rocket launcher for 2500 Glimmer and 1 shard. Equip it, apply 6-8 motes of light to max out the circles, but don't fill them in. Break down the weapon for 2 shards. Repeat as needed.

Killer mentioned that exotic shards can also drop from your first public event completion of the day on each character. You also get 15 Marks for this and other prizes so it's well worth it even if the shard doesn't pop.

Finally, just buy an item from Xur and break it down. Expensive, but possible.

This is where I embarrassingly confess that I had no idea you could buy shit from your kiosk using glimmer.
Didn't know about these kiosk, or even noticed them before.

Did they change it back to 2 shards? I thought it was a chance to get 2 shards?

Still, I just need one shard, and if I had that, I'd just use it on the upgrade I need instead of buying an Exotic from the kiosk for a chance at more.

Yeah, I have been sucked back in as well but I've only done the first story mission. The rest of my time has been in the crucible. Supremacy is great even though there are way too many feeders.

I was really into Destiny for a few months when it first came out but my time with it tapered off right after the first DLC. I came back for TTK after hearing all the positive buzz and really enjoyed it, but it just wasn't the same. Never even got around to running that raid.

I'm thinking of maybe coming back when things go on sale, but I don't know if it's worth while to even try after over a year away from the game. Word on the internet is the raid is really good and fairly short, so no more hours long sessions. Even though some people say it would suck, I'd still like to see matchmaking for raids, though.

I stopped playing back in late November / early December and it's pretty easy to get back into the game. The new vendor gear is 350 light so if you just farm marks, you can easily hit 350 light even if you start with terrible gear.

I wish they would allow optional matchmaking for all aspects of the game.

Didn't think I get back into but I did a few weeks before RoI because my online co-op partner did. So far with the new addition it's really spread across all levels. I continue to see anywhere from Level 3 and up doing stuff...especially when doing bounties and trying to catch a public event daily with each character...which still gives you a nice reward packet. I was at the Moon doing bounties when a Public Event happened and there was me (40), a (24) and a (9).....And there seems to be a solid variance of Strikes going on to fit anyone's level.

We got into the Archon Forge by accident last night...doing some assassination that took us down past it. On the way back two were in there and just triggered it and five us did five of them....two, green, two blue and one purple which was something. We loved it....now to get more offering's.

Has anyone used a Skeleton Key and if so what do you get or possibly get? I picked up one but now wonder if I should use it or wait a bit.

It's for getting strike specific loot. Wait. You usually have a chance of getting a high level artifact as well from it, which is the one thing that starts holding people back from getting over 360.

Thanks...and yea that Artifact is the thorn in the side on leveling up. My Titan has armor and guns from 345 to 350 but the artifact is 340. And what decent ones I've opened has come from random Rare's or even specific armor legendary (towel, band or cloak) that has turned into a artifact.

How many of these can you hold and do they stack in storage? Also can you hold and stash several of the Archon Forge offerings or even move them from one character to another....thanks

Just run around the plaguelands and complete the "noble deeds" on any guardian you've finished the story on. Killing enemies and missions works towards it. Once you do that you get a 350 artifact for free from Tyra at Felwinters Peak.

Where and how often do the Archon Forge Offering Keys drop?

The last monitor in the raid was found. Takes a bit of work, and a bit of math to get it. But it appears to guarantee an exotic.

As far as I know they are random drops in the plaguelands. As of now you can only cary one at a time.
