Also a good idea.

Odd that they wouldn't take advantage of either this feature or the touchpad, unless they are really sincere about wanting to make sure "everybody has the same experience".

Parity is bullshit.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Destiny preorders in america 7 weeks out now stand at 1.3 million. If the game came out today that would equal about 5 million sales first week if the game followed normal preoder/first week world wide sales number. (watch dogs final preoder numbers were 979,000 and it had 4 million first week) At its current rate it will actually top my week 1 sales guess of 8 million, though we will really get a true picture next week since those number will be post beta....(also of note, the xbox one version is catching up with the ps4 version in preorders)

I actually tried using the touchpad the very first time I booted up the alpha and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it didn't work. Looks like it was made for it.

I also find it interesting that the xbox one version has almost pulled even with the ps4 version.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Just out of curiosity, how do they count the sales of the white bundle? Will that go towards system sales, game sales, or both?

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I can't imagine it would sell more on XB1 than PS4, or even close. No other cross-platform title has worldwide. Even in the US, I think only CoD Ghosts sold more on XB1, and even that was just barely.

What's your preorder source fox?

Edit: I guess if we're only talking about the US, it's not too far fetched.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I pre-ordered the LE and the standard version but I'll only getting one of those. So I've already skewed those numbers.

yes, and until you cancel your preorder it will continue to skew it...I think next week will tell a lot, because I would imagine we will start to see preorders fall...vgchartz gets its source from only a few brick and mortar stores, so in a lot of those cases you won't see as many dropped orders since it is easier to preorder and cancel online....this could skew the final numbers so that the first week sales are lower than the norm vs the preorder numbers.

I have pre-ordered and cancelled the game about twenty times in the past four months between moving my order from Amazon to Best Buy. Moving it from a regular pre-order to Gamers Club Unlocked. Gamers Club Unlocked to Ghost and LE editions. Yadda yadda yadda.

All of this across gift cards, which could possibly come across as money laundering at this rate.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I canceled 2 of my preorders from Amazon (for the LE and ghost editions for the PS4), but I still have the same preorders in for Best Buy. So there are 2 preorders lost!

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Yeah, everyone was preordering, and cancelling, from Amazon during the beta. Just to get the codes.

But don't worry Fox is keeping good track.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I'm still on the fence with my preorder. If progress from the Beta carries over, I'll probably keep it. Otherwise, I'll wait on reviews and see how they compare the final product to the Beta.

I really doubt beta progress would carry over. Does it ever?

I wonder if having such a widespread beta will hurt sales more than help.

Just speaking for myself, I was iffy about Destiny before the beta (for whatever reason, the alpha didn't do anything for me), and it's a definite purchase now.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I was disappointed with the Beta since I always thought there'd be a part of the game where you build your own customized ship and have space dogfights. It would certainly break up the repetitiveness.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

They are really talking up these Raids like they are going to be something special. I can't read this article on IGN without laughing at just how serious this guy is talking it up. The main guy in the article acts like we have never seen a game mode like this or had this type of gaming experience before. I am interested but.....

It's doable if you use the middle out technique.
