Well...I felt I got ripped off by Xur....I went in with my Hunter who is the only one at 300 and actually needing one more Helm so I rolled the Helm engram....

....and got a Ram 310 for the Warlock

....rolled again....

....and got a Insurmountable Skullfort 310 for the Titan

....rolled again....

....and got a Knucklehead Radar 290 for the Hunter

...and if that wasn't bad enough rolled the Primary Engram and got a Year 1 160 Bad Juju....

^ you can use the 310 helms for infusion if you don't want them

and are you upset that the primary engram was a year 1 item or upset because it was Bad Juju?
"Legacy" Engrams as has been stated repeatedly only yield Y1 gear (at Y1 levels)

Because it was a Year 1...that caught me completely off-guard. Both the 310 Helms...for Titan and Warlock are needed as they are now the highest ranked Helms for both characters. I guess the Bad Juju is pretty much worthless and might as well break it down correct?

Well buzz, I did put a whole video up that dealt with legacy engrams...and I do say "don't buy this" every week. Yeah, that Bad Juju is an exotic shard. You can buy a year 2 out of the kiosk now if you didn't have that already.

Yea...I messed up. I had my Hunter (300) and went in...click Helm, click Helm, click Primary, click Helm not thinking of the stupid possibility that I'll land a stupid Year 1 160 rifle...which I already have one of.

The Nightfall this week is SABER with small arms.

My rewards so far:

11 Three Of Coins
294 An Answering Chord
306 Ghost Shell (naturally)

This is why I have almost no interest in running these until some of the new exotics are released. Oh well, at least IB should be back in a few weeks.

The last 9 nightfalls I've run have netted me 6 ghost shells (and a few of them were in the 290 range). I haven't even bothered with it the last 2 weeks. It's a shame the direction Bungie has taken it. It used to drop the best loot, now you can get just as good if not better gear from pretty much any other Y2 activity in the game.

You aren't alone. I posted the following this morning in the Daggers thread:

Last year, you would want to move on to the Hard Mode so you could get better gear and boost your stats so you would be ready for the next DLC. So you had normal VOG, hard VOG, normal Crota, hard Crota, and then PoE. With the addition of Etheric Light, all of the content was relevant and many of us ran all of it every week.

Along comes the Taken King. All of the year one content was essentially irrelevant the second it came out. On top of that, they have stated not to expect any DLC with regards to new Raids, etc. There has also been no mention of updating the year one Raids.

So in year one we had 2 Raids and PoE. That's 5 things to run. In Year 2 we have the Oryx Raid. Once you hit around 315, I just don't see the point in continuing to run Oryx Hard Mode and trying to get up to 320. Why, so we are ready for Destiny 2 eight months from now?

Without something to progress towards and with no DLC on the horizon, this game has sadly lost most of my interest. I'm still up for Raids if others are, and I still plan on running IB. Other than that, I hope Bungie learns from their mistakes and doesn't repeat them with Destiny 2.

Funny you mention that, because I same to see/ask if there was any DLC or sequel news.

I'm still working through Oryx hard mode with my friends. Mostly as a challenge to our selves, but other than that there isn't a lot going on.

One of my biggest complaints is all of the vendor content and rewards tend to be junk. Even when you get an exotic item, you have to hope:
1) it's for your class
2) you don't already have it
3) it has at least 310 light

Otherwise your left with a sub par item that you have to find infusion material for.

Plus, I'd really like to see more diversity with weapons and capabilities. If they allowed for more customization, or bonuses through pairing items, you could get more unique abilities from players within the same character class.

As musick said, Iron Banner returns next week, and this time it's Rift.

And the next event coming is Crimson Days, which is a Valentine's themed event that will be centered around a new Crucible mode called Crimson Doubles. Apparently it won't have matchmaking, you will have to play with a partner. I'm guessing it'll be some kind of 2 Vs. 2 Vs. 2 mode or something like that. Never mind that theory, it clearly has 2 Vs. 2 in the update, so it'll probably be something like sticking close to your partner scores you more points or something like that.

In other words, after taking a month off, this weekly update was extremely disappointing. Talk about dropping the spark...

OK, back by popular demand, it's the Xur Report! After questioning whether I would go forward with the report last week, I now have a renewed spirit thanks to the outpouring of support from you guys, as well as being the gatekeeper of sorts for some of you to even come into the tower at this point. So now we push forward. And some of you might want to pop that disc back in this week.

Also, you're going to want to watch the video report this week as I manged to get a rather substantial guest for the show this week. I have an exclusive interview with Bungie's very own "DeeJ" where I ask him the tough questions about what's coming in Destiny in the coming weeks and months as well as "calmly" discuss the "information" from the Weekly Update.

Xur is located in Center Tower (at this time at least...), near the Vanguard table.



For the Titan, it's the Mk. 44 Stand Asides. Now this is an interesting item, as they are currently not supposed to be in the game. Bungie put these in the kiosk by mistake instead of the Peregrine Greaves. But the Greaves are the ones that drop from engrams and possibly Nightfalls and raids. But now here they are for everyone. They let you run longer with Shoulder Charge active, and give you a tighter turn radius. These are for collectors only.

For the Hunter, it's the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. Extra melee charge means more smoke bombs...of knives I suppose.

For the Warlock, it's The Ram helmet. Cool looking and useful.

No weapon this week because...

The Engram this week is for Chests.

And this is why I said you might wanna log on this week. If you're on the hunt for the Tarantella and/or Twilight Garrison, now's your chance! That included me. Well, before Xur arrived I landed a Tarantella from a Legendary Engram, so that was taken care of. But Xur was able to provide me with a 310 Garrison on my 3rd attempt. So outside of the New Monarchy Cloak for the Hunter I've got all the exotics again.

The Legacy Engram this week is for Gauntlets. Don't buy this! It's a Year 1 item! Don't buy this! Buzz, seriously don't buy this!
