@ mattysemo - I'm sure that Activision has looked at the numbers for that but I bet Bungie knows that there would be huge backlash from the Destiny community for allowing pay for power.

We were talking about this last night with Scott. Over the weekend we can do one run on normal and one on hard since Scott has checkpoints for Oryx on both difficulties.

On normal...probably not. But it helps immensely as you can see how fast the ogres went down with two of us using ToM on them taking advantage of the bubble.

A short time ago, in a galaxy not too far away...
The Xur Report is brought to you this week by Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. You're going to see this film.
Be sure to check out the video report this week for a more...musical rendition of this partnership.
Xur is located in the Cantina...I mean Tower Lounge, deep in the bowels of the spaceport...I mean Hangar. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy...

For the Titan, it's An Insurmountable Skullfort. Gives you an extra melee charge and spawns you with melee energy. Good pickup.
For the Hunter, it's the all new Year 2 Achloyphage Symbiote helmet. You get an extra Golden Gun shot...at the cost of a couple second of golden gun use. The nerf is not listed on the helmet, but is in the patch notes. Still decent for crucible.
For the Warlock, it's The Heart Of The Praxic Fire. If you use radiance for something other than self revive, this'll help.
No engram this week because...
The weapon this week is the Year 2 debut of Hard Light. A rather weak weapon in Year 1, this gun was given a boost for Year 2, and then left behind. Now it gets a chance to finally shine.
And that'll do it for the text report this week. Stay tuned for the video report, and may the deals be with you...

Avoid doing the daily until later on in the day. The daily mission is not currrently dropping legendary marks upon completion and Bungie is looking into it.

The Bungie Year End Update is up. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14236
But very little info is there. On January 7th, Bungie will be sending everyone a gift: 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes Of Light.
If you play the game between January 7th and 10th, you will get an exclusive Emblem on January 12th. You do have to play something (mission, patrol, strike, etc.) so you can be tracked.
That's about it. The Weekly Updates will return on January 21st.

Merry Xurmas Folks!
Our good tentacle faced friend has arrived in the tower with gifts for us all! Well, maybe not all, but for many of us. And for once, Xur actually did bring a pretty good haul: All items are new as of the December update, and one of them is an item he has NEVER sold before.
Xur is located by the big door in North Tower. Now, on with the deals! Ho. Ho. Ho.

For the Titan, it's the return of a Xur Classic, The Armamentarium. You want an extra grenade? Here you go! Xur used to sell this almost weekly back in the old days, but it's been a while, so welcome back.
For the Hunter, it's the Bones Of Eao. Do you like to jump around? Get out your seat and jump around? These boots are for you! They add an extra jump to your Hunter (other than with blink). Quad jumps for the win!
For the Warlock, it's the Xur Debut of The RAM!!! That's right folks, Xur never sold the year 1 version of this helmet, so I know of at least one friend who was very happy to see this sitting under his tree this morning. The Ram gives you extra armor and gives Voidwalkers the ability to get Life Steal on any melee, not just charged ones. Plus it looks awesome.
No engram this week because...
The weapon this week is the MIDA Multi-Tool. The original exotic Scout Rifle is back! This classic was a godsend in the Crota raid for running through the thralls, as it gives you a huge agility burst (even more if you choose lightweight).
The legacy engram this week is for Heavy Weapons. I guess if you didn't get a Gjallarhorn, here's your chance. Other than that, every other heavy is now available in Year 2. So don't buy this.
And that'll do it for the Xurmas Report, which will be the last Xur Report of 2015. As I said, for once, Xur has brought some gifts worthy of the holiday.
Stay tuned for the video report, coming right up.

I have one more video of what Xur and the cryptarch brought me...I know, I know, I say week in and week out "don't buy the legacy engram." But with it being a heavy, I couldn't resist. So on my second account, I bought 1 Legacy Engram. And here is what I got:

good day for those who like 280 gear
not for me, buying more 3oC and that is all even though I hear MIDA is the new go to weapon for many in Crucible
even if I infused the Ram with all the high level racing helms I have it still seems like it has limited use and not even sure how much the extra armor perk stacks (if at all) with legendary armor that has the increased armor perk with subclasses

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I wouldn't mind the Boots for the Hunter since I don't have Blink but I have three pair of Legendary ones all above 295. The Ram Helm would be nice for the Warlock but I already have that other "Horned Helm". No chest needed for the Titan. MIDA MT...hard choice but I don't have any shortage of Scout Rifles. I'll grab 3oC and continue to roll the dice. Thanks Scott for the Xur update...

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Happy Xur Year folks. Xur has come back to the tower and I am here to show you what he's got.
This week's Xur Report is brought to you by Sanity. Sanity, it's that thing hanging by a thread when you play Iron Banner...oh wait it just fell. Gadzooks! My socks are broadcasting secret messages from the President. End Transmission.
OK, that was...weird. Xur is located in Center Tower, down by the Guardian table.

For the Titan, is the Empyrean Bellicose Helmet. Did you know that the definition of Empyrean Bellicose is Heavenly Aggression? In reality, this helmet should be called Float and get shot.
For the Hunter, it's the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. Need more smoke bombs? Perhaps an extra Blink Strike? Maybe a second throwing knife would be nice...oh wait gunslingers can already do that. Anyhoo, these gloves give you an extra melee charge.
For the Warlock, it's Starfire Protocol. You already have this more than likely.
No engram this week because...
The Weapon this week is the Xur Debut of Invective! In Year 1, the Invective was only available through an exotic bounty. But with those being phased out, the old guns were added to the loot table, meaning Xur can drop them. Well, the Year 2 versions anyway (Sorry Thorn and Pocket Infinity lovers).
Anyway, for those without it, the Invective is a fast firing shotgun with Full Auto and it also regens your ammo.
The Legacy Engram this week is for Helmets. My buddy who was happy to get the Ram last week from Xur decided the year 2 wasn't enough, so he bought the engram and got the Year 1 version, which was the last Year 1 item he needed.
For everyone else, don't buy this. There's only 3 helmets that aren't in year 2 yet (Arachnid, Glasshouse and Eternal Warrior), and quite frankly all of them aren't very good. I guess if you need one of those, you might want this, but otherwise, it's an easy pass.
That'll do it for the text report, stay tuned for the video version coming up next. Bonus trivia: Try and pick out an error I make in the video.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
So what does everyone think about the possibility that bungie will make year 2 game-play less repetitive? I played this game last night after a long lay-off and surprisingly, I still like it (even though I seriously almost lost mind playing the taken king) especially with how they re-tweaked things.
I'm nowhere near as hardcore with this game as a lot of you are but I have put a lot of time into it and was just curious to hear how you think year two will unfold.
