How big is this new update?
I have around 25gigs open, but it's telling me I don't have enough room to download the update.
It can't be more than 25gigs, can it?
And if it's not, how much space do I need to have free to download it?

They did in fact patch this at some point last night. Amazing how quickly they deploy hotfixes when silver is involved.

If you unlocked some of the rewards already, they'll still be in your inventory, but unable to equip until you purchase the book.

How many gigs is the the new patch?

around 700MB (may be a little larger with the patch from yesterday)
I believe you still need to have the full, approx 18-20 GB, free space to download the update to the full 2.0 file

But I have well over 20 gigs free (almost 25gigs) - how much more do I need to free up before it'll let me download? This is silly - I've had way less free to download a whole bunch more before.

Couple of new dead ghosts/grimore have been added in the last update. The 1st one has been found on the Moon in the Hall of Wisdom

This week, Xur has brought back a couple of Year 1 favorites, as well as a Xur Debut from Year 1. So let's get on with the deals.

Xur is located in Center Tower, next to the Crucible Quartermaster.



For the Titan, it's the Helm Of Inmost Light. If you don't have this by now, don't bother.

For the Hunter, it's the return of Radiant Dance Machines. Maybe calling this a favorite is a bit of a stretch, but this is the Year 2 debut for this item. Move faster while aiming. Still think dancing should make your super charge faster.

For the Warlock, it's the return of Nothing Manacles. Now these are a welcome return. The Manacles give you a second scatter grenade, as well as give tracking to those grenades. It's the only way to get a second voidwalker grenade.

No armor engram this week because...

The Weapon this week is the Xur Debut of the Monte Carlo. Like to melee and shoot? This is the gun for you. Damage dealt with this gun recharges your melee and kills have a chance to fill your melee. Combine with smoke bombs for maximum carnage.

The Legacy engram this week is for Primary weapons. Don't buy this.

One more thing: Make sure you stock up on Three Of Coins. There are new ways to use them, and with all the new exotics, you might get lucky.

I'm tempted on the Nothing Manacles but I just landed the Voidfang Vestments last weekend. But these do have a few better perks. This will give my Warlock at least one Exotic armor piece with Helm, Gloves and Chest (have Voidfang and Praxis)....just none have any Arc perks.

I liked the Monte Carlo when I got it Year 1 especially giving it to the Titan with the melee perk but lacks a bit with impact while a high rate of fire with decent range. I'm contempt so far with the Scout Rifles I recently got so I might pass.

Good time last night running something at least all needed with me, Killer and Scott doing that Taken Champ mission and finishing it out. Those last two were an eye opener....one character down and 'maybe" two to go.

buying 280 gear (RDM, NM) doesn't make sense for me

I may pick up the Manacles. I bought the Telestro last week so may pass on the MC. Gotta preserve my coins since they don't seem as easily obtainable as before.

Racing...not a gimme each time but they do drop along with gear which a few helms seem to be half decent. I've got some there, doing bounties, doing strikes, opening chests and cryptarch...I think on Sunday I had about 59 after buying 3ofCoins and now have about 108.
