Re: Bungie - Destiny
Sorry for asking what is probably a stupid question, but can you delete a character and its files? I know you can start a new character but want to wipe old and start fresh...

If you just mean the character, weapons and gear, then yeah, that can all be deleted and you can start fresh. Any progress on said character will be lost, and if you delete all characters you delete all weapons, gear and items not in the vault. Your Grimoire score won't reset, not that it has any factor in the game itself. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
So I don't want to read 165 pages....
I just got Destiny the Taken King Super Ultra Awesome Edition for XBOne (the one with the expansions bundled in). At present I will most likely be playing single player, but it looks like by default I'm potentially playing multiplayer. Is there a "Top 5 Things Noobs should Know" that can be provided? I'm level 5, back down on Earth trying to do some Patrol missions (either I'm not jumping/gliding right, or I just suck, it takes me forever to get on the top of the building - I hate when they stick annoying platforming in my shooters, unless I'm doing it wrong which is quite likely.) I'm wandering around shooting things and exploring, and then I see a bunch of level 39 or 40 guys attacking some giant machine that I'm trying to avoid. What is etiquette? Do I need to hookup a headset? Why is there a level 40 group and monster in my level 5 area? Is it cool for me to shoot the smaller bad guys who are attacking them? When should I install the other content that came with that disk? I read horror stories about people losing their games/stuff, etc. Sorry for random questions, I've dabbled in enough to know there's a lot missing. My last MMO games were Guild Wars about four years ago and Everquest about 20 years ago. I normally play single player. |

My last MMO games were Guild Wars about four years ago and Everquest about 20 years ago. I normally play single player. Patrol is shared by everyone. In fact, most missions and strikes you do will start off in these public areas where you will run into other people of all levels. But in practice, you'll fins a lot more 40s than anything else because most everyone is 40. The monster they were fighting was a Taken Champion. It's a public event that anyone, including you, can get involved in. The enemy is numbered to the level of the patrol area, but they are very tough and deal a lot more damage than typical enemies. Shoot whatever you want, players share kills as long as they get their hits in and are close by. There are a few exceptions like if people need a specific kind of kill (grenade, etc.), but again, patrol is a public area for everyone. Destiny shares a unified code base. Meaning that you've already downloaded and installed all the content. If you haven't put in the codes yet, then certain things will be locked out to you. But once you put the code in it'll all be there. Also, you don't have to worry about losing anything do to something going wrong on your system. Destiny saves everything to their servers. You have no save file for it. This allows you to do things like swap weapons and gear between characters using the Destiny app or even third party apps like Tower Ghost. For everybody else (at least PS4 people), the December update is available, though you might have to force the update. Patch Notes: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14094 There's some good stuff in there. Dragon's Breath is basically turned into a Scorch Cannon. The Collector's Edition Class items can now be infused and be work with another exotic piece. The collector's Edition ghost shell can now be infused. |

Eris takes Wormspore for rep (50 rep for 25) New Monarchy takes Wormspore for rep (50 rep for 25) Dead Orbit takes Helium Filaments (50 for 25) Future War Cult takes Spirit Bloom (50 for 25) The Ram has a Year 2 version now. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
From what I read I assume most knew of the changes coming to the Titan and the Sunbreaker class. However the Striker Class seems to have got some decent buffs. S
Slowed several parts of Shotguns, nerfed 8-9% damage of Pulse rifles while adding a tiny bit to Auto Rifles. Was hoping for a bit more to the sidearms and added even more charge speed to fast charging Fusion Rifles...good! I like my Hawkmoon but they reduced the range by 20...leave the damn hand-cannons alone! |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
more importantly how big is the update file
ie. how many days will I be offline while the update is downloading |

Same as the other recent ones. Long prep time for the file, but not much of a download.

I love this new racing league. PLEASE bungie let this stay and make more tracks. Its a bummer there's only two different tracks, but it's still a lot of fun.
I totally get why there are only 2 different tracks to start they said if the response is good they will bring it back and with more tracks |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
So apparently you can complete the Jolly Holliday quest in the SRL. All you have to do is finish a race and you get 3 to 4% each time. Don't have to win, just have to complete it
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
How long is the racing going on for? Couple weeks?
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
It lasts until December 29th.
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
So apparently there is a way to get the rewards from Record Book, with out actaully having to purchase it. All you have to do is go to Tess, inspect the book, hover over the challanges hit x, and it will complete them for you and you get the rewards

I tried it and it doesn't work. Though I haven't run through the SRL quest line. Only ran 1 race. Think that is why? Or are you supposed to complete those challenges in the record book and you can get the rewards without buying it? |
