For the Hunter, it's a new item with a familiar name, Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. That's right, a new Hunter piece that sounds a lot like their old Young Ahamkara's Spine. These have some really good perks of giving you an extra melee change is nice, but it also has a perk that makes your melee charge faster. So if you're rocking the Nightstalker, get ready for smoke bombs for days. |

Ok, thanks Gold.
Assuming I did have it, what is the best way to upgrade Y1 to Y2? Buy from Xur or collection (if that is even possible). Thanks Cruz too. I will test it out tonight to see if I can buy it but not use it. This way I can stash for when/if I do get TTK. The best way to get the new exotics (including the updated Year 2 versions of the old ones) is through drops and engrams. Those will be 290 (with a few exceptions). Any that you get from the Collection Kiosk are 280. The ones that Xur sells are 280. But the ones from Xur's engram will be 290 (not the Legacy Engram, the normal engram). Items from the kiosk cost either 125 or 150 Legendary Marks. Xur's items cost 13 Strange Coins (or 23 for Primary weapons and 17 for the others). So just in terms of cost, Xur is still far cheaper. The Kiosk is if you REALLY need a specific item, and have the Marks on hand. Other than that, wait for drops and engrams. |

So I used to buy exotic shards from Xur...is the only place to get them by dismantling exotic weapons now??

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Any reason to hold onto a 294 attack sidearm? Sidearm seem kinda useless and I could infuse something else with it.
The silencer on it is cool and I don't want to dismantle it if is a viable weapon somewhere.... |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Some of the guys in that reddit really like the sidearm, haha. I just don't see its use over a shotgun or or sniper for a secondary weapon. Plus my primary will be the Ace of Spades hand cannon as soon as i get it from the weaponsmith.
I will probably infuse the sidearm into something else...if I come to regret it, it looks like you can buy one from the Vanguard anyway with even a slightly better roll than what i have now. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Is it worth it to buy the Hawkmoon if I already have the old version of it? I dont have any new exotics or legendaries as weapons.

If you enjoy the Hawkmoon and since it sounds like you are struggling for good weapons I would say it's an easy recommendation to buy the struggle for higher end content will be the limited amount of ammo it carries |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
For those like me who hate PvP, there is a way to cheese the pvp requirment for the exotic sword.
You still have to run pvp once, but this way allows you to skip the other 2 times.

So in short, 1) Kill Ecthar 2) Transfer other two swords with all nodes unlocked (280+ attend and last Scabbard node NOT bought) 3) Buy final Scabbard node on last two swords 4) Turn in Ecthar part and you should get the rare materials part for all three It also appears that 3 and 4 are interchangeable. It all appears depends on which character you buy the last scabbard node on. I got my Sol Edge AFTER I had gotten the rare materials part for my other two, so I went and got it to see if I could still get it for the third one. Transferred it as soon as I got it and infused it to 287 and burned motes to buy the last slot and Shaxx gave it to me. I believe whatever character you buy the final Scabbard node (one unlocked after hitting 280 attack) on is where the quest for that sword will be locked. If anyone can confirm this please let me know |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
My hatred for Crucible is growing strong. I keep seeing people do shit that I have no clue how they are doing. Like healing their health or shields almost immediately after being drained. Also, that sword, again is stupidly overpowered... I thought gear was supposed to be equalized for Crucible?
I think I've done 5 Crucible matches so far, and lost them all... fun stuff! |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I'm Level 4 now, and recently bought the Expansion Pass, to give me up to House of Wolves. Just curious, how long should it be till I need to upgrade to Taken King?

It's been awhile since I started a character from scratch, and the leveling system has changed since the game first launched, but I would think it would only take a few days to get up to 30. |

But if you're looking at raw numbers, without Taken King you can get to Level 34. That level covers you for all the content you have. Want to keep playing beyond that? You'll need Taken King. Also, without Taken King, you can't do Nightfalls, Weeklies, Dailies, or play in the main Crucible playlists. Basically without Taken King, your options are limited. |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
If I've got a year 1 Hawkmoon, is there a way to upgrade it to the year 2 version, or would I have to get that separately from Xur or a drop?

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Just reached Dead Orbit rank 3 and was seriously considering buying their Hung Jury scout rifle. It has a perk where three precision hits returns a round to the mag and it has firefly. Firefly on a scout rifle sounds like a great present as I find precision shots with a scout rifle to be easier than any other weapon. I just need to earn 41 more legendary marks...

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Hung Jury is a beast and sexy weapon period
I stayed away from scouts in HoW but the Jury was my first legendary weapon drop in TTK (with Army Of One and Life Support) and I haven't looked back ... the DO sold role is pretty killer with Triple Tap and Firefly and I have even considered picking up a second one because of that highly recommended off topic, I am getting pretty sick of the amount of content that requires you to be in a fireteam or with others to complete Every time I go to the Rocketyards or Skywatch to defeat Taken Champions, no one there Every time I go to the Court If Oryx, no one there |
