I was on in spurts working on my other warlock while taking breaks from wrapping presents. This week is a busy one!

I should be on tonight. Hopefully we can knock out the Nightfalls, weeklies, and maybe a Crota's raid or two.

last night was just doing bounties for XP to level up new weapons and I actually blew through the Pocket Infinity exotic bounty .... had a bunch of fusion rifles saved up in my vault and between my characters and the nightfall part (kill 200 enemies with a fusion rifle) was easy as I just backtracked though the level to the level 30 enemies with respawing active and hit them with a fully leveled Murmur .... would have knocked it out even quicker than I did if I remembered to bring the IB to regenerate ammo ... way easier than the first time I did that bounty

You know me, won't be on till late, hopefully you two won't mind running it for the 7th thru 12th times with me.

I have been a part of killing Crota 9 times since the reset.

Safe to say the cheese is working.

by the way, as someone who owns no Gjallarhorn, I am enjoying Hunger Of Crota immensely
unfortunately there is an issue with the second row of upgrades where stability is the only node of the 3 that changes attributes

Damn! I should just plan on staying up Monday nights with you to get in on these.

I finally got my alt Hunter up to 28, prob 29 by the end of today. I will be on for VoG with him this evening, and CE with both characters (at least as much aif it as my 29 can handle).

So here we go with this morning's fun stuff.

Since I had only mentioned, but not shown the cheese method to this group, they wanted to try it (naturally). We got our team together, and headed down. Then chess came on, and was kind of pressed for time. He decided to solo the early parts of the raid, while we did our initial 3 runs, then we'd help him do Crota. Once that was one, one of our regulars, as well as 19K came on, so we went through it 3 more times. That's the 9 kills I was a part of.

For the most part it was smooth. I missed the window once, or so I thought. Turns out we just forgot that I have to be the host for it to work. After that, I had Crota on his knees every single time.

There were some good hauls and interesting discoveries. For instance, Crota does drop Exotic weapons. I wasn't fortunate in that sense. Overall, I did OK, getting the Fusion Rifle, some energy, shards, the boots for my Warlock, chest for my Titan, a second pair of boots for my Hunter...and this:



Crota dropped the Hunter helmet for me! So if I can gather enough shards, my Hunter has the pieces to make it to Level 32.

The Nightfalls sucked for me.

Between the Nfs, weeklys and CE. Ended up with the Raid fusion rifle, 4 horseman exotic shot gun, and the chest piece. Not too terrible, but much better then last week

Found time after leaving work early to run 3 nightfalls. Terrrrrrrrible. But at least they were quick, and I'm glad I knocked them out.

Only missing one piece of raid armor (helmets notwithstanding)...Hunter chest. But as I mentioned earlier, not satisfied with the stats on my Warlock armor just yet.

I must be crazy, but I decided to go back to my original level 8 Hunter and get him up to a level 20. I keep getting drops for him so I figure why not?

That first earth strike is a bitch when you're that low level wise. It also doesn't help that I'm getting matched with what I guess are a lot of noobs. I spend half my time reviving people.

After getting all the Crota Raid loot with all 3 of my characters this week, I'm 1 goddamn shard short of being level 32 with my Hunter. ONE!!! Argh. All the gear is leveled up, I'm just waiting on that last shard... so first thing after the next morning reset I should have it.


I know Bungie said they make this raid easier to get the gear, I'd have to say they definitely did. I wasn't able to beat Crota in that first week of the DLC, so technically I've only finished the raid twice with my Hunter and Warlock, and they both already have Gloves, Chest, and Boots. My Titan has Gloves and Boots. Not to mention 3 sniper rifles, machine gun, and the fusion rifle.

Oh and to get my last bit of loot for the week, I did both the the lamp and bridge sections solo... with a TITAN

Got my Titan to level 31 last night - so proud now working on the 30 Warlock to get him to 31.

I'm quoting myself because I'm going crazy trying to dig myself out of level 24.

All my light armor is at maximum and every single piece I armor I find is a lower rating than what I already have. Such fucking bullshit! What gives?

is this game very similar to Borderlands?

no; not very.

Borderlands mixed with Halo, not as satisfying as either.

IF you loved the loot part of Borderlands then you will not love it in this game.

Quick and dirty order of how to do things: Legendary equipment. You will have to purchase some Legendary Boots and Gauntlets and start leveling them up in order to climb up levels. Complete as many vanguard Bounties as possible. Run through the vanguard strikes - Tiger strikes are your best bang for your time. Visit Xur of the Nine when he shows up Friday morning through Sunday AM If you search youtube or the forums someone will tell you where he is and what he has. . Save up some strange coins (13) and purchase an exotic helmet or chest armor. Save up some motes of light (23) and take a chance on an exotic engram. once you get up a little higher in your levels (27 and up) run the Weekly, Daily and Nightfall strikes (ask for help) . Start doing raids.

Get your Vanguard Rep up to Level 2 by doing bounties, and the Daily on Level 24.

Buy the gloves and boots from Vanguard vendor in the tower. Those alone will get you well past Level 24, and when maxed out will get you pretty high.

Continue doing bounties and the daily until you reach Vanguard Rank 3. That will get you the ability to buy weapons, plus a Vanguard Commendation which will allow you to buy a chest piece or helmet.

Listed below are the Levels in Destiny and the Light points needed to rank up:

25 - 65
26 - 76
27 - 87
28 - 98
29 - 109
30 - 120
31 - 132
32 - 144

Buying and maxing out the gloves and boots would give you 66 points just on their own. And even if you don't have the ascendant shards to upgrade the last 3 slots, they will still give you 29 light each. Assuming you have a 15 light helmet and chest, you'd be at 88 light, or level 27.

Then you can run the Vault Of Glass Raid to get shards and weapons.

Just a note that strike playlist is not the best use of your time for getting vanguard marks.

Farming public events is much more efficient, and you can do missions and find resources while doing it.
