Who wants to see the new Warlock in action? Here's a look at a Stormcaller Warlock in the new Mayhem Clash PVP mode. Basically, it's Clash, but your supers charge A LOT faster. Anyhoo, here's the Sith Lord in action:
You may also notice that they added your XP level to your emblem area along with light level. The new XP level max will be 30. While light will likely be at 50.

and to all you haters, no you won't be required to pay a toll when passing through the portals .... I think

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Two things would have to happen for me to buy Taken King this year:
- Reviews and word of mouth on content and quality are amazing (from somebody other than you and Scott)
- Some BF/Xmas sale puts the DLC at a price point that I'd consider fair ($25-$30)
Neither of those things seems likely this year, and there's zero possiblity that I pay $20 (or even $5) for emotes and shaders. But it is possible that I pick up the all inclusive version of Destiny somewhere down the road, because I have invested some time, and I do enjoy some things about the game. But I'm not looking to have my wallet humped for nine more years.
I'd honestly be surprised if I bought anything this year other than Batman/Fallout, and ironically, I'll probably get each of those for $40.

I really don't think this is a "haters" deal. I keep up with Destiny threads on a bunch of different message boards, and many, many extremely dedicated fans of the game are up in arms about price gouging and Bungie's "eh, fuck it, they'll open up their wallets no matter what" attitude.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Just out of curiosity, is anyone dead set at getting this on day one at $40 besides musick & TheKing? I've seen plenty of people say no but I know there has to be more than 2 people here that are going to say yes.

I just don't understand people saying it's a ripoff. There are countless games that cost $60, have 5 to 10 hours of gameplay, and that's it.
As for the $20 for the emotes, etc. Don't like it, don't buy it. Passing on it doesn't make you a moron, nor does buying it.

I plan on getting it and as far as I know, most of the people we play with from here plan to get it as well. Value is all relative. I paid $90 for the Digital Guardian Edition and have over 500 hours played. That is tremendous value IMO. I could go to dinner with my family and spend more than that in 90 minutes.

slop ....
how many raids have you run?
how much Crucible have you played?
how many times have you done Prison Of Elders on levels 28, 32, 34, and 35?
how many matches of Trials Of Osiris have you run and what is your record?
how many people are in the clan that you play with?
please answer the above

Because it is. You're falsely equating hours spent on something that is, quite honestly, repetitive as hell, as having value. If I spend 500 hours playing with a ball tethered to a paddle that I spent fifty cents on, does that make it a great value? Value is derived by content, and Destiny is sorely lacking content. Just because it pushes your buttons to get you addicted doesn't mean it has value.

Not that my opinion matters much as someone that only casually played Destiny but might purchase the new bundle -
Yes, of course.
Not necessarily.
I'm not not arguing that the pricing is a poor value, which I actually agree with based on the amount of Destiny I played, but value isn't necessarily tied to content at all and mostly based on opinion and the individual. Maybe it is for you, but your definition of value is obviously not the same as someone else's.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
so the answer is, it does have a good amount of content and you are likely not taking advantage of a good portion of it
it sounds like you are basing your perception of value on mostly the single player aspect .... if that is the case I get it, the game and its add on content may seem a bit shallow to you after running through it a few times
however this is mainly on online multiplayer game and their is plenty of variety if you seek it out
and yes I see a patern to running the same levels, shooting the same enemies, and using variations of the same guns ..... it's called videogaming and is true of about 95% of games played

Ultimately, Destiny gets compared to other games, because that's what it competes against.

he is making general statements about Destiny not having value or content based on what he perceives as value while also not participating in over 50% of the content
I'm not asking for him to include "IMO" in each of his posts but he is trying to tell others their value from the game is the same as his
also when the community bitches about wanting more it isn't necessarily because they don't have enough ..... it's because we always want to push for getting more

now that's just stupid when the person you are asking has already said he has received plenty of value from the game already and has said the game has plenty of content
so you are trying to prove that there is even more value he hasn't taken advantage of since he hasn't run (enough) PoE 35 or ToO ??!!

Re: Bungie - Destiny
As crazy as this may sound to some, I may not buy it at all.
I haven't sounded off all that much on the pricing and all of that because none of it is new information to me. It's been pretty much expected for months that Comet (now known as The Taken King) would likely feature new subclasses, a new raid on a hive ship, and a new max level of 50. And most expected the price for this would be $40.
So none of this stuff becoming official has really swayed me in one way or the other because I've had plenty of time to already process the information. That being said, Bungie has done pretty much everything they could since Destiny came out to screw up their relationship with their customers, other than fixing many issues with House Of Wolves.
The Taken King is where the Destiny fanbase will truly be split for the first time. And they've done all they could so far to push people away, and that's a scary thought. Because this game lives or dies on the backs of the people who play it. If you don't have a good group to play with, Destiny sucks and there's little to do. So if the game loses a big chunk of players (which they will, no doubt) that can be an issue.
So despite the fact that I play this game more than anyone else here, I'm not dead set on continuing. And that should tell Bungie something.
