Posting this PS4 news here since Buzz doesn't get that it isn't so much anti-MS news as it is pro-PS4 news:

GameStop has stopped taking pre-orders for Xbox One, as many GameStop locations have reached their launch cap.

Polygon reported that senior managers send out a nationwide email to GameStop store managers earlier this week telling them to stop accepting pre-orders. Supposedly, many had already stopped taking launch-date orders, since they had "run out of individual store-level allocations."

...and now this....GameStop accepting "unlimited preorders" for PS4 - Report

http://www.gamespot.com/news/gamesto...report-6410562

A leaked GameStop memo obtained by GameTrailers states that the retailer will, beginning this weekend, allow "unlimited preorders" for the PlayStation 4.

"Starting now, through this weekend and until further notice, Sony has allowed us to take unlimited preorders beyond your current allotments," reads a line from the memo.

"In other words, the floodgates are open for PS4 system reserves, we will let you know when to stop preordering based on limited quantities."

Oh. I thought you could run the game audio through that headset. For playing at night and all that.

As for them screwing it up, I'm fine with this...certainly better than no pack in. For the health of the online community, everybody needs a functional headset...has been hit or miss on PS3. I respected their use of standard bluetooth rather than proprietary hardware, but it resulted in some spotty in-game chat.

I highly doubt that. I think it's just more like what the Xbox does rather than the Roku. I could be wrong about that and, if so, the mono headset is just something to throw away in favor of a real gaming headset that plugs into the controller.

I am old school and like having a subscription to a gaming magazine. I am currently subscribed to the Official Xbox Mag but now that I appear to be changing allegiances, I was thinking about getting one that has some PS4 stuff. I used to subscribe to the official Playstation mag but was never really impressed by it.

Any really good multi-console mags out there still worth subscribing to?

Didn't think of that. I wonder if that will really work. Earbuds suck for long periods, but the MS headset isn't bad.

802.11 b/g (2.4GHz). I genuinely hope the PS4 and X1 both utilize 5Ghz 802.11n, but who knows.

I would bet Amazon will start shipping out consoles for those who pre-ordered the launch models the day before street, meaning those like myself should get it on launch day or the following day.

You missed my joke point

Of course they have to ship it out before the launch date to make the delivery date. I was saying that Amazon can't get it to your doorstep the "moment the PS4 launches". So, in that regard, B&M pre-orders are better for "the moment".

I just got the latest copy of EGM in the mail. Apparently, they are going to reboot Tomb Raider!

The only one I've really seen with some decent amount of information is this...

http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/

The site seems pretty good and I just wonder though when the PS4 hits if there will be a spin-off for just it?

While there I saw this article that sounds pretty encouraging....

Killzone Shadow Fall’s ter Heide: PS4′s “future proof: server side is where we’ll see new things happening”

“This machine has been set up to be a great point of departure” states ter Heide. ”The way that the console had been set up, I think it’s going to evolve, not necessarily on the hardware side, just in terms of services and what people are able to get out of a locked piece of hardware is going to be very exciting”. For ter Heide it’s all about the “server side” functionality of PS4 including things like cloud gaming and the Share button. “I think evolving those services is a lot more exciting from a gameplay experience point of view. Of course it’s nice to be able to do more poly and be able to do all of that, and people will find ways to do more of that, but I think the server side is where we will see a lot of new things happening”.

You're probably not going to believe this, but Game Informer is a very solid magazine. You get it with the Gamestop rewards whatever program for $15/yr. I've only done that program twice, but both times it more than paid for itself.

You'll be able to do that with their Bluetooh* Pulse headset.

Thanks for the info. I assumed it was biased due to the Gamestop connection.

I doubt it. Magazine are so hard to float right now that I would imagine it would encompass all Sony gaming.

That's pretty cool....

you know...I was just sitting here watching that and just realized... I've been gathering, absorbing, any and all things related to the PS4 more in the last 2-3 weeks than I have with anything PS in the last 4-5 years...and I've got 4-5 months left.

Hey, the PS4 made me give a shit about my PS3, which I just started using as a gaming device after owning it for 4-5 years now. It's like a brand new console you can play RIGHT NOW!

Gamestoip has this up....E3 Highlights: Hardware - Xbox One vs. PS4

For those of us who have the PS4 for pre-order you should get a smile out of this....

Gamespot, not Gamestop. That would show huge bias.

He was also Dennis Quaid's son in the short lived CBS series Vegas. Which was driving me crazy until just now.

Is this going to be compatible with the PS4? Or do I have to buy another wireless headset?
