Won't be any high-fiving here. I expect the exact same flat-line launch for the Xbox One, and I'm a huge fanboy and hate to say it, lol.

Stupid question: Is Resogun free with PS+ or a d/l only title that costs real money in addition to PS+?

Have any launch line-ups really been something that have just blown away the critics? Sure, they will sell well because people want games for a new system. The games will likely be fun,for the most part. But to expect masterpieces, from either console, is like living in a fantasy world.

Free with PS+ as far as I know.

The PS3 launch sucked hard and I didn't adopt for a few months and still felt like there was nothing to play. It was sad that we were sitting around waiting for the next system update or waiting with baited breath on the talk of "Home" to then be sorely disappointed once it came out. At least this time around I have at least 6 disc based titles and a handful of DL titles that I truly want to play.

Killzone (Coming Friday from Amazon)
Lego Marvel (Friday from Amazon)
Skylanders (Friday from Amazon - For Free!!!!)

I will also likely grab the camera and Just Dance 2014 for my wife and daughter.

I don't get Polygon's review of the hardware, they mention the most interesting feature one time and say "it works well" then quickly skip to a negative instead of expanding upon it at all.

"However, dreams of universal access to PS4 content from anywhere via the Vita will have to wait, as even locally, Remote Play suffers from issues similar to those encountered by Wii U users. Players who move too far away from their routers may lose their connection to the PS4 or otherwise render their game unplayable."

I'm not at all surprised by the cool reception to Knack. Exactly what I was expecting for what looked like a very simplistic game. Back to the Target my $40 copy goes. Still at the top of my Game Fly rental Q though because I'd like to play it for a day or two.

I did think Killzone would be better received. There's only so much you can do with a standard FPS game. I fail to see anything that gives me reason to think this game is inferior to CoD Ghosts or BF4. Story's not engaging enough? Who gives a fuck? Let me shoot things and make it look pretty!

I honestly don't see what COD of BF4 can do much better at other than being a different type of setting/war. I think a lot of these reviews are still somewhat based on personal preference and not strictly on the merit of that one game itself as a FPS.

Here's to hoping 1886: The Order turns out bad ass. That is the game I'm waiting on before snagging a PS4.

There's a lot to the game structure in an FPS past just how satisfying the shooting is.

I still think that it will be a year or so before we start seeing some truly epic titles from either system. Infamous and The Order look to be a lot of fun and very intriguing but I'm not sure that the oven is warm enough just yet. I hope I'm wrong as it seemed to be a couple of years before I got truly excited about anything on the PS3.

I understand that but at the same time when I play a COD game it seems tedious where someone else says it is the greatest thing ever. The biggest thing I've seen about this Killzone is the mention of a few out of place segments as well as not always knowing what your next objective is.

I'm not really bothered by the overall reviews..it boils down to if I'm having fun and in the case of a certain 6yr having fun with Knack. What I will look for is how these same sites treat the XO games...so far some have literally drooled over DR3, Ryse and Forza particular Ryse and DR3. The main beef with Killzone so far is "somewhat repetitive play and level". Ryse by all purposes sounds like "Press A Button" repeatably and how many more ways can you kill zombies than you have in the past.

I'm extremely tempted to line up on Friday morning to try to pick up a PS4, even though my wife and I agreed to wait until March.

I don't get the appeal of Ryse at all, but I haven't played it. It just looks bad.

Dead Rising I can see getting 7.5-ish reviews, I didn't really care for DR/DR2 but there is some merit the repetitive killing of zombies.

I have to assume if you have a wireless router you know how this works, people walk around their houses with tablets and laptops and see signal quality decreases. But it's a fair comment, it's just a weird emphasis to me, since there is plenty to write about on the subject and he pretty much just jumps to "But here's the shortcoming!" that is pretty obvious in nature.

I didn't buy Knack because it didn't look like it was made for me (squarely aimed at kids), and I did buy Killzone because it has nifty looking multiplayer, a flashy single player, and perhaps most importantly, free map packs.

At a minimum, the two aren't getting trashed because they aren't technically competent, which is what you really fear with launch games.

I think Ryse will get dragged through the mud by MOST game sites.

Dead Rising 3, will get tanked on looks and be great at gameplay, Forza will do good across the board as it usually does.

Looks like Polygon will have a 12 hour PS4 live stream starting at noon EST today. That'll help pass the time.

I forget who posted they didn't like Knack last week in this thread but kudos to them. Played it last night at Gamestop, looked great but wasn't even a Kameo caliber launch title in terms of gameplay.

Contrast gets 4.5 out of 10. At least it's free.

While I definitely hope the ability to watch a 3D Blu-ray is fixed soon (and I'm kinda perplexed it's not part of the launch system), as well as some of the other stuff, I'm hopeful most of it will get done. When the 360 came out it really couldn't do much of anything except play games, and now there's YouTube, Netflix, IE, SportsCenter, etc. I switched to the PS4 because I want a gaming system, not an all-inclusive entertainment system, and though I had planned to wait a while (like Dan), I'm weak, not waiting, and am ready to get things started...
