FWIW, I'm not surprised headsets with dongles (rather than bluetooth) need updates, but you would think they'd have the PS branded ones ready to go at launch.

It's looking more like a gimme that I'll end up holding off till early next year. Between the major expense of the bathroom overhaul and more XBL friends holding off, it's just better to wait.
I found it interesting that there are two articles from Video Game online sites that almost mirror each other about holding off getting the Nex-Gen consoles. Their logic is actually quite resonable though I disagree about the implying "nothing new". Not trying to stir up anything here or over at the XO Forum but an interesting read...

Yea...i found one and didn't think much of it but found the other article and was like wait a minute...it's been wall-to-wall positive can't-wait-to-see-and-play-the-next-gen console coverage and now this....heading into the final stretch and a sort of "ah shucks...the next gen is really great and all BUT...."
...then again they do make a point about the highlight games are COD, BF4 and AC and the fact they are on all consoles so I can see some of their point. But then again I see games like Knack, a different and even all new built Killzone, Watchdogs is looking good and is totally different. I think they look at the games as a game for the current systems and doesn't take in consideration the next gen games are more of an experience.

I still have my headset that came with my original launch 360. Anything can break depending on how you handle it

The earbud doesn't look like much, but I'm at least a little bit optimistic about it. I wear glasses while I game, so over the head headsets can be kind of bothersome when they press on the frames.
I had hoped that my iPhone buds would work, but that doesn't seem likely because of Apple's proprietary bullshit, so I've been looking at a variety of similar-ish android headsets and even the Vita in-ear buds, which are apparently nice and are about $10 on Amazon.
My perfect headset would:

- Sound like Pulse Elite for game sounds
- Have a boom mic and a short 3.5mm cable to hook up to the controller
- Have a design that wraps around my neck rather than over the top of my head...like the headphones I run with.

Sony has announced blue and red controllers for the PlayStation 4 at Gamescom 2013.
Following the black controller designed to match the Jet Black finish of the PlayStation 4, the Magma Red and Wave Blue controllers will launch with the PlayStation 4 in Europe on November 29.
The coloured controllers will release in North America later in 2013, Sony adds. The recommended retail price for the coloured controllers is £54/€59/$59.
"The two-toned look with the vivid Magma Red and Wave Blue along with black further enhances the stylish look of the DualShock 4," said Sony said in a statement.
Sony adds that it chose red and blue because they were two of the most popular colours for PlayStation owners.
Sony will release the PlayStation 4 on November 15 in North America for $399, and on November 29 in Europe for €399/£349.

Microsoft is offering an adapter that allows legacy headsets to work with the XB1. USB should be USB and Bluetooth is Bluetooth. Shame on you Sony.
