Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)
I have played a couple more hours this morning. This really is a next gen title that struggles to perform on a current gen machine. Frame drops at times are horrible and motion blurring awful. I am trying my best to like this game, and there are aspects i like (the city feels real and alive...except a distincr lack of cars on roads and generally people)., but its flaws are immediate. The lack of good tutorials for the aspects of the city is evident. What they have created feels lacking to say the least. A personal pet peeve is cars that feel like driving on ice. This happens here and hope its simply because of default car and better cars later will have improved handling. The action shooting aspects are not blowing me away either. Feels more akin to the PS4 launch title Killzone game in the way it feels than a game released in 2020. Oh, and there is too much time already spent following NPCs. I understand to some extent thats the nature of the beast, but when you get put into a sandbox you generally want to run off and explore, not follow someone for tbe first few hours.
I loved the first Deus Ex game, but the most recebt sequel didnt do anything at all for me. This is already starting to feel like that, which is a shame.

But I only completed the intro mission. Maybe it gets better. Took me forever to figure out that BS breach game.

I still haven't had a chance to start this up since a major patch for FF14 dropped this week as well. Can't wait to see what bugs I run into.

Cyberpunk 2077's Performance On Base PS4 Is "Unacceptable" In Digital Foundry Analysis
Cyberpunk 2077 is a compromised experience on the old-gen console.

It is unacceptable. This game should never have been released for last gen (PS4, XBox One). This should have been next/current gen only. I get they are trying to maximize profits, but playing on the PS4 is like a teaser of seeing how good the game could be, but never being able it on that machine. People complained about No Mans Sky and being lied to in promotional work (i didnt feel this way and even the base game was exactly what i expected it to be... all updates since have turned it into a much bigger and better experience), but with that game they have spent years fulfilling that games intentions. There is literally no way they can fix this game for last gen consoles as they simply dont have the power.
After todays session i have decided to stop playing it completely until i pick up a PS5 and the update for that platform version is available, otherwise its going to ruin any chance i have of enjoying it.
Most anticipated game of the year and probably its biggest disappointment.

Made my way to Act 2 this morning. Side Missions has been fun.
On my base PS4, darker scenes look decent but everything in the daylight looks really bad & washed out.

I haven't been able to play yet but I've been marathoning Entourage this week and based on the feedback here the game sounds like Medellin. A bomb hidden away behind delays while the trailer and hype built around it rose until it could be hidden no more.

Glitches be crazy. I was talking with one lady standing outside my apartment and eating a cheeseburger while another cheeseburger floated just behind her head. Just didn't even know she got the buy one get one free.

Weirdly, it looks like I’ll get my steelbook from Best Buy before the game itself. (They created a shipping label in the wee hours on 12/10 but haven’t actually handed the game off to UPS yet.)

I played for a couple hours tonight. Looks kind of like shit. Plays kind of like shit. So far, it is exactly what everyone is saying it is.
But I see promise. This weekend, when I’ve got a little less on my plate, I’ll spend some more time with the game.
Does the game start the same (like same locale and missions and NPCs and such) for every backstory?
And what about V’s overall personality and demeanor, I guess. Same for all?
I srarted with the street kid backstory, and so far find V pretty insufferable. Do you get a different version of her for each backstory?

For excess weapons I've just been dismantling weapons. Should I be selling them instead? Seems too much a hassle to keep going back to a vendor to sell and I don't wanna keep hundreds of weapons in storage .

I intended to buy from WalMart since they sell new releases $10 cheaer, but as usual WalMart couldn't be bothered to put the copies out for sale. I'll just pay the extra at BB from now on. Fuck WalMart.

Finished Act 1 last night. It was awesome and intense. I need to start on some side missions, but don't really know how. I have that contact in my address book (Watson?) that says she has work for me, but haven't really paid attention on how to start them. I'd like to make more money and level up my character a bit more before heading full force into Act 2.

After reading Kotaku's article a few days ago, I did the same. Tried out a few hours with Film Grain, Motion Blur & Depth of Field all turned off.
About 15-hours into the game and still having fun, though the game has still crashed a few times. I finally found a tech rifle that I like that basically kills most enemies in a single shot. Took down the last Cyberpsycho I tracked down in a few shots.
I like it. It's for sure a step up from the normal MS Paint looking Steelbook Art/Covers Best Buy has been doing for their Movie Releases the past few years.
