I'll miss his irrational posts... and his posts of how he completed at least one obscure NES game per day.

It's listed at Amazon for $19.99, anyway. It sounds like anyone who's interested would be better off with the just about identical Android/iOS game for $2.

I didn't think he was that bad either except for a few posts the last couple months where he started going in to other threads with obvious flame bait/troll comments. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Yeah he was a good cheerleader for the Wii U until he started trolling other threads.

I started Wind Waker HD this weekend. It's really good. I played the original, but man this one looks great.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
 This thread has seen more action since LMM left than in all of Jan-March.
Wind Waker: $36 Donkey Kong: $32 |

Awww...! I appreciate LosingMyMind's passion and enthusiasm, and I hope he comes back. It's not the most joyous time to be a Nintendo-or-die fanatic, and the negativity/disappointment in gaming circles coupled with how few people here are similarly likeminded probably didn't make DVD Talk a great fit for him.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I have a Wii U and appreciated his posts in this sticky. I still am disappointed with the lack of games, but I will probably get Mario Kart when it comes out. It's less than $60 retail. And some of the indie games are a lot of fun. But like others have said, it's a confused system, in that it didn't know what it wanted to be, and thus turned off both hardcore and casual gamers alike. It's a solid system with a lot of potential, but potential is just that, and doesn't equal success.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I just don't get why people take that stuff so seriously. I have a Wii U and can laugh (and cry) at how poorly it's doing. I have a PS4 and can laugh at jokes a the PS4's expense (like the one about adding in features to the PSN that Xbox Live has had since 2007). I don't own an Xbox One and have never felt the need to go into the X1 thread to make snide comments. Why is that so difficult for some other people? I'll never get it.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I think it comes down to defending their purchase, basically. And a certain level of insecurity goes along with it. What goes on here is nothing compared to the utter lack of respect that goes on with sites like IGN, which is so juvenile I make it a point to avoid ever looking at comments of their articles. Just a lot of hate, when it should be about the love of games.
|
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I go to other sites for gaming news, but for gaming discussion I only come here.
And I can understand wanting to defend a purchase, but that's still no excuse for trolling threads of other systems. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Oh I wasn't excusing the behavior, just giving a likely reason for such behavior. Still no excuse.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I posted a couple of weeks ago in the XB1 thread stating that it seemed like a lot of bugs and problems were with the system based on what I was reading...not as trolling, but more to get confirmation, as I'm following it closely to decide when/if I eventually get one.
I like the Wii U...I just wish we had a 3D Mario game and a real Zelda game. That's what I buy Nintendo systems for. And Mario Kart...and Animal Crossing...and Smash Bros. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
There is a 3D Mario and Wind Waker was the last real Zelda game anyway. :)
