re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
We got Pikmin 3 downloaded last Tuesday. My kid and I love the game. It is fun to play it with her since she is learning teamwork and responsibility as a leader. Love how a forgotten Pikmin gets eaten at nightfall. My kid almost cried and was pissed at me for forgetting a few just to see the Pikmin feast, lol.

I just watch The Wonderful 101 Nintendo Direct. That game looks amazing. It looks like there is a fully developed story and it looks gorgeous. It's my most anticipated game right now.
Can't wait! |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Is Pikmim really that short? on day 20ish and just now beating the third boss. Trying to get all the fruit possible with the Pikmin I have.
Having a blast with it. Might revisit Pikmin 2 on the Wii. I remember finding Treasures (without a day limit) pretty fun. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
So is the anniversary $.30 sale done Donkey Kong or are there any more scheduled?
|
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Shoulda blown it out with an N64 game for $.30.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I found a WiiU version of the Disney Infinity starter set on the shelf at Walmart today. The price scanned at $74.99. So I said I'll buy it. But when they tried to ring it up at the register it didn't work. Apparently someone put it out early as well as a couple of PS3 copies as well. So they pulled them from the shelf. I didn't see any individual characters, just the starter pack.

I still don't know if I should buy Disney Infinity on the 360 or Wii U...

Why not the WiiU, if you're even considering upgrading your 360 in the next couple of years? Unless you're also thinking of getting rid of the WiiU...

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
lol did they make up the "walk away" term or is that what Nintendo is calling it now?

Xenoblade Chronicles just got a reprint. You might want to head to Gamestop and grab a copy, if you're interested.

That Wonderful 101 demo sure is something. My 3 year old booted up the game and I'm hoping he accidentally skipped a tutorial. I had no clue what the hell I was doing but I was still very into the game. It was chaotic and confusing but I really want to play more.
|
I'm going to try the demo again after my son goes to bed. My wife informed me he played the demo yesterday and gave up after a very brief period of time. Not surprised by that. He wanted me to quit the demo while I was playing it and play something else but when I finished it he said he liked the game. I guess he and I are both equally torn and confused by this title.
Depending on the modes and replay value we might have to get this and Rayman Legends in the near future. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I finished NSMBU tonight. I thought it was pretty good. It's the best of the new series. I'll go back and beat all the levels, but I'm not sure about the star coins. Then I'll probably try Luigi U.
|
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Is Luigi U basically the same levels as NSMBU, but with Luigi thrown in?
|
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Apparently the levels have been rejiggered pretty extensively. I'm holding out for a physical copy, though, so I haven't had a chance to verify that firsthand yet...

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
On the last level of Pikmin. Collected all 56 fruit before I started it.
What a fantastic game. It's no system seller, but it sure as shit should be. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Luigi is different. More chaotic, 100 second levels, different game physics. It's fun and for the price, it's worth it if you enjoyed the mario version. Plenty of replay.

I love Pikmin 3 in so many ways, but...ugh, the time limits are just miserably oppressive, especially in the Frozen Tundra. I love exploring this world, and the extremely short days stomp all over that. I know that there isn't a fixed time limit in terms of the number of days, and I know I can replay days anyway (so I could explore without consequence and then restart that day over again), but I still feel rushed, and that's a disappointment to me. I wish I could adjust the length of the day, or I at least wish I could just sort of check-in and not have to deal with all the animations/menus/etc.

Wii Remotes and Nunchuks can be used, but I'm not sure if that's just for co-op. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Jeff Cannata on Weekend Confirmed said he tried out for a WiiU commercial and there wasn't a tablet controller in sight. Only Wiimotes in the ad. WTF is Nintendo thinking?

There will be a new 32gb Wii U bundle that includes The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. The listing appeared in Target's computer system.
There's also a rumor that the digital version of The Windwaker will be released 2 weeks before the physical copy. |
