How's that work? 33% off each?
So is Zombie U worth $20? |

Finally found a Target with Scribblenauts Unmasked. Still no Rayman, but that led me to confirm that Disney Infinity, which is already on sale for 60, is eligible for B2g1f
Haven't opened the other two (although I have played the W101 and Rayman demos). |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
hadn't touched my wii u much recently. i played through New Super Luigi U, thought it was an ok experience.
Then, a few weeks ago, my copy of Pikmin 3 arrived. I never really bothered with the first two Pikmin games, thinking they were too deep in the "strategy" genre for my liking. Initially, I wasn't 100% of what to do. I played through about 8 days without even reaching the first boss (but I was flying to the other land, collecting fruit, etc.)... Then I read some info online and realized that I should be playing with the wiimote/nunchuck ... man did that help so much! And I also learned about the charge attack. And I also learned where to find the first boss. I'm on day 35 now and almost have the game completed (I'm basically on the final boss)... I'm sure the game can be completed much faster, but I had so much fun just taking my time and exploring each area, defeating enemies, building my pikmin army, and collecting fruit. I did get a "game over" at one point trying to find the guy who stole all the juice supply. I would definitely recommend the game. I've been putting off Rayman and Wind Waker just to finish it. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Scribblenauts: Unmasked isn't getting the greatest reviews, but if I have a chance to see obscurities like Halo and Captain Carrot in a video game, I kinda have to take it. Maybe when the price drops...

So...I know the games in Nintendoland are mostly just mini-games based off of ideas of some of their core franchises. However, being that I've never played Pikmin, I thoroughly enjoy playing the pikmin mini game on NL, is the main game franchise anything like what's in NL?

Spoiler:
the thing i really like about the game that others seem to complain about is that there really isn't much urgency. as long as you are collecting fruit, you don't really ever have to rush through the game or feel constrained for time. i also like that you can be in the middle of a boss fight when the days ends and come back to resume the fight the next day. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Yeah, you're right at the end. I definitely took my time with the final boss. I think I got to him at the very end of one day, spent a full day fighting him, and then finished him off fairly early the next.

I decided I won't have time to play any games I get right now, so I'm not going to do the Target deal. The games will end up being cheaper used down the line anyway.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Well some good news, according to VGChartz Hardware Sales charts, The Wii U sold 33,964 units worldwide the week ending September 21st, that's only a day or two of the Zelda model being available and was up from 20,946 units sold the week prior. Curious to see what the full week numbers will be.
That placed its weekly sales ahead of the PS Vita for a change (for comparison, the PS3 sold 335,789 units, the Xbox 360 sold 300,861 units, and the 3DS sold 249,321 units.) You can thank Grand Theft Auto for the inflated hardware sales. |

Not trolling, but they are meant to be a third party developer and I don't see why they're fighting the inevitable so staunchly. |

...and the PSP outsells the Vita.
Still, it's good that the Zelda bundle and price drop is at least getting some sort of response. |

Because they make money on the consoles and are doing quite well in the portable market. Why do you feel that they're meant to be a 3rd party developer? It will be a sad day when Nintendo goes the way of Sega.

Actually it could make them, make it so only the 3DS gets Atlus RPGs and Sonic games. Cheap development, potential big numbers.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
It's a risk though, it could also completely wreck the popularity of their IPs.

It's not happening so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
The new Sonic game looks slick, and I can't imagine Tex Murphy is going to be on the Wii U. |

Tying themselves to Nintendo would be company suicide right now with the way Nintendo has performing lately.
That's pretty stupid. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Is there no way to use the gamepad is player 1 and the pro controller as player 2? It keeps making the pro controller player 1.

With what game? Every game is different.

I'll get to it at some point.
