re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Thanks guys.

Guess I will send the game back to Gamefly and try some of the other WiiU games we have later today. Thank god for that Rayman demo since he spends as much time playing it as he does all the other games combined.

Since it's a rented game, I would blame the disc.

I just figured that it wouldn't be a super popular game and maybe it hadn't seen much action. Oh well.

Apparently that image is blocked at work. Sounds like a pokemon version of skylanders?

This was probably already answered, but have you tried exchanging it for another disc?

A port of a game that came out almost two years ago?

Not yet as I'd have to contact WB and mail it in. There seems to be quite a few issues online about the online user generated content causing the media error.

I'll have to get the pokemon game for my kids when it comes out. Sounds like something they'll love

So I take it the Pokemon game doesn't need a docking station?

It uses the NFC functionality built into the gamepad. I guess you use it like an arcade controller when the figure is on the pad...? No idea. I'm also not sure if the figure has to be in close proximity to the gamepad the entire time, although since data is apparently written to the figure, I guess it'd require at least some occasional placement.

...but the game hasn't been confirmed for a U.S. release yet, and if it were to find its way over to these shores, I guess Nintendo might have to come up with a different distribution method than the oversized gumball machines they're using in Japan.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

I was going to say that the blocky, stylized look seems like a mistake, but for 2 bucks? Sure. I was wondering when they were going to take advantage of all the Gashapon madness and RFID and similar technology. They've been doing it with kids toys for a while now, heck, the barcode battlers and card scanning genres have been huge for decades now. Although it they actually blind boxed them it would drive me crazy.

Bring on Super Robot Wars, banpresto!

I think Xenoblade went up because it was an exclusive. Won't this be more like Last Story and available everywhere?

I bought Monster Hunter for the Wii. I have no idea how the hell to play that game. I guess it doesn't help that I've only invested 20 minutes into it.

The game assumes you've played the other ones before. The Wii U demo was focused towards that.

My 14yo son loves Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. He'd like me to get a Wii U just for the new game.

Fat chance.

i'll buy that. I didnt care enough about FZero to bother typing the credit card info, haha.

is Lego City Undercover on the Wii U store for $49.99? I wouldnt mind DLing it if its the same price as the B&Ms so then i dont have to keep track of the disc

Just make sure you have a separate hard drive 'cause that's a requirement.

You would be better off going to Target. Get Lego and 2 other $49.99 games then return the two fillers on your next trip to target.

edit: They're doing b2g1 this week if you weren't aware.

Isn't MH 60 bucks though? You were better off getting three $50 games...
