I'm still getting plenty of use out of my Wii U, and I see enough games on the horizon to hold my interest. I will admit to being surprised at the dearth of post-launch titles, though (a tiny, tiny trickle in Dec.. Jan., and Feb.), and a bunch of the "launch window" titles have been pushed off.
Well, I use the WiiU now as my exclusive streaming gateway (so much easier than navigating with my PS3 or built in TV apps)for Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. Aside from Black Ops 2, it's relegated my PS3 to just a blu-ray player. Between ZombiU, Sonic, Mario and Nintendoland, I'm more than busy enough until Rayman and Lego City come out. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I finally booted mine up after a few weeks hibernation. Gave NSMBU multiplayer a spin last night with a friend. Kinda pointless.
Finally gave the Rayman demo a go last night as well(wasn't in a rush since it's a day 1 purchase anyway). The multiplayer is great. Wasn't too keen on the Wiimote controls at all. Turbo is the back trigger? :wtf: Hopefully this one will support the Pro controller. Also downloaded the Zombie U demo. Didn't get a chance to try it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
The only game I've been playing on Wii U is "Clean The Dust"
The hardware is smaller this time so I've noticed it does collect less dust than previous Nintendo hardware. |

I love reading these posts. I mean really, it's not like you didn't know what games were going to be available at launch.
I am fully aware that my Nintendo systems are basically just Mario/Zelda systems. We'll see what else pops up that seems worth playing. |

The Cave is up on the eshop, right now. No off screen TV play, but people are hopeful for a future update to put that in.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
So is there any reason not to transfer my Wii crap over to the Wii U if I don't plan on selling any of my crap? I still have my Wii hooked up to the TV but the extra sensor bar annoys me. They need to sell a sensor bar splitter so i can plug both systems into one sensor bar!

So why do you have both setup still? Gamecube games?

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Had no idea they were porting Revelations, cool. Best Resident Evil game since Code Veronica.

So, yeah, not that anyone cares, but I guess I'm getting one of these consoles when the new Rayman comes out.
Any suggestions on transferring VC games from the Wii? (I have a bunch and they're already on the SD card that I have in the Wii) |

I haven't transferred my VC games just yet. The WiiU will walk you through the steps to do the transfer. I probably won't do it until I get rid of my Wii. |

Nintendo Direct info so far:
Spring and Summer updates to help speed up menu transitions and add other functions. Virtual Console (NES and SNES to start) launch after spring update. 0.30 cent Super Famicom games (balloon fight is the first one)to celebrate 30th anniversary of Super Famicom before full virtual console launch (starting today). MiiVerse updates (including user created communities). MiiVerse smartphone app. No new software from Nintendo Jan/Feb. The new Wonderful 101 trailer pushes that game into the must buy (just looks fun). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WM0ANR0gwC8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Some sort of Shin Megami Tensei + Fire Emblem game. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QMRGNwMMFro" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> New Yoshi game. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MB_1X4oRIPM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Smash Brothers screenshots at E3. Wind Waker HD for WiiU (screenshots looked awesome) this fall! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Jr2zNExmEuA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> New RPG from Monolith (Xenoblade Chronicles sequel??? Hopefully, that was an awesome game for the Wii). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KHYtvOP8AMY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
NES games will run from $5 to $6, while Super Nintendo games will run from $8 to $9. However, users who already own a particular NES or SNES game for the Wii Virtual Console will be able to pick up its Wii U counterpart for $1.00 or $1.50, respectively. |
