Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
FYI -
Smash Bros comes out November 21st. Captain Toad comes out December 5th. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Toad's MSRP is $39.99. No Amiibo support until 2015 when the Toad figure comes out.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
yay, smash bros! cant wait

Wii U GameCube Adapter Only Compatible With Super Smash Bros Nintendo issues clarification after mistakenly claiming the adapter would support games that use the Pro Controller. Typical for Nintendo. 1 step forward, 2 steps back :( |

That's disappointing. I read an article yesterday saying that the GCN controller would be compatible with other titles and got excited. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I pulled the trigger last night and got the Wii U bundle with Super Mario 3D world since I had $125 in an eGift Card from Dell about to expire. I'm really excited. :)
Can anyone tell me what the Amiibos do exactly? I'm usually a sucker for stuff like this, especially if it's Nintendo related, but I don't know anything about Skylanders (which I guess is similar) so I'm not really sure what they do or what the point of them are. |

All we know at the moment is how they'll work for Super Smash Bros., where you're basically training a sparring partner, and I think it saves your special moves so you can be up and running on a friend's console with a quick tap. Because of the very limited amount of information that can be saved to a figure like this (depending on the chip, often just 1K or 2K), it's also possible that you can tap, say, a Yoshi figure in multiple games and they'll correctly recognize it as Yoshi, but only one of those games will be able to use two-way saving and all the bells and whistles. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
The Bayonetta 2 demo is up on the eShop now.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Circle of the Moon and the rest of the GBA Castlevanias. NICE!

Bayo 2 is getting insanely positive reviews: http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/bayonetta-2
Polygon looks like the only sub-9 review of the major sites so far, which sounds about right... Might be a Game of the Year contender! Gamespot gave it their first 10/10 in four years (and only their 8th ever perfect score). |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Yes, and the Polygon disparity reflects only the reviewer's PC agenda. Read it in full to find out that Mr. Arthur Gies is a truly sensitive and fair-minded individual.
The game - viewed properly as a source of entertainment and not a political statement - sounds incredible. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I saw a few videos for Bayonetta 2 last night and it looks incredible.
I'll pick up the first one soon, but the second one looks to be a day one purchase. |

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
That's great news on Batonetta. I was going to wait for Christmas for it, but now I may have to jump in day 1.
Not much for Club Nintendo for me. Maybe Kid Icarus. |

Oh My Gosh, Nintendo Gave Link A Motorcycle Yannick LeJacq 10/15/14 2:00pm If Zelda making its first appearance in Mario Kart wasn't exciting enough, Nintendo sweetened the deal today. When Link (if that is his real name) arrives in Mario Kart 8 next month, the company said he'll be bringing a new kart-friendly version of his trusty steed with him. <img src="http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--VDK8hc80--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/ecmxf8uzihkeoplxr43h.jpg" /> |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
That reminded me to preorder the DLC. The second half doesn't drop until May, but the two batches are $11.99 together as preorders rather than $7.99 a pop at launch.

That's a pretty sweet bike.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Wow, those do look pretty shitty. I didn't think it was possible to look cheaper than the Infinity figs. These look like Happy Meal toys.

These are toys, meant to be played with. |
