Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
is there a learning curve to this game?
i'm having trouble of knowing where to go. is there clear cut paths to follow? i know you have to sneak around in the beginning, but i keep getting caught and die. does it take some to get used to controls?
i find them too 3rd personish. so not used to it...

Which section are you stuck in?
I found there were certain areas where it absolutely was NOT clear where you needed to go before or after clearing out all the enemies. The characters MAY have mentioned it, but when you die and restart, that may not get mentioned again. So... I get it. You feel stuck.
But which section are you stuck in?
Some tips:
- silent kills are good.
- walk slow when those clickers are around. SLOWER. Stop. Okay, now EVEN slower. Seriously. Those guys are tough.
- Throw molotovs to kill clickers. They'll run to the fire and burn.
- There's one part where you're in a restaurant or bar or something. You have to exit through a not-at-all-obvious back door.

i put the difficulty on easy and will see if that stops the hemorrhaging...

Try this walkthrough to see if it helps: http://ca.ign.com/wikis/the-last-of-us/Outside
Which part of the above are you dying at a lot?
I think, by this point, you can use your super-special hearing or whatever. It'll highlight where enemies are, to make it easier to plan an escape route. You don't HAVE to kill everyone, but sometimes, it's just easier. Go for headshots, or you're just wasting ammo. Alternatively, sneak up behind a guy and do a silent takedown (I think this requires stabbing... I'm not sure).
If you're having trouble getting past guards at this point, this game just might not be for you. Once you get to the Clickers, you'll wish for these guards again! And it only gets harder (in some spots).
Just be glad you're not playing Bloodborne instead.

so, in the beginning you can't kill clickers and infected, correct? best to just sneak around?

As I said, maybe just accept that it's not for you. Watch a "Let's Play" video of the game, and move on to something you'll enjoy more.

You're not even a tenth of the way through the game. The part where I think your at - you need to distract the clickers (by throwing bottles and bricks away from you) and make your way over to the top left corner of where you start - this sections all about stealth, and probably the trickiest part of the whole game.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
After never getting around to this on PS3 and letting it sit for a while on PS4, I finally finished this game!
Really good story, as many have said, though I wasn't expecting quite that much zombie killing. I also played the side game, Left Behind, which took a few hours.
Sequel trailer is intense.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
I just downloaded this and tried to play it the other night, made it about an hour before I gave up. First off, it was just plain depressing. But what really annoyed me was the gameplay. Seemed like too much focus on duck&cover, sneaking around, conserving ammo. I'm more of a "run-in-guns-blazing" kind of guy. Is it possible to play that way? It didn't seem so, from what i saw.
